I store mine individually in a box sitting up. I've seen a lot of people hang them by the tails to stay straight.

Re: Bass taken from one area unlikely to return after being released
I was having this same conversation on the boat over the weekend. at berryessa we would never fish the narrows unless it was really tough. and with the increased number of tournaments now on the lake you have just as good a chance of breaking 20 lbs in there as you do the main lake.

very good points. if I say im going and ask you if you would like to come I don't expect anything nor will I ask for anything. the courteous fisherman would still offer or at least get lunch when done. in a tournament situation I would think 50-100 bucks a day depending on the tournament would be fa...

Re: best knot for fluorocarbon
Stick with the Palomar but make two minor adjustments. 1)Never pinch the line together to run it throughthe hook eye, instead run the end through then turn around and run it back through to double it up. Pinching the line is fine for braid and okformono but terrible for flouro. 2) when cinching it ...

best knot for fluorocarbon
what's everyone using for tying lures with fluorocarbon line. I grew up with the Palomar but have notice when I break off a lure it looks like the knot failed and not the line. I tie it correctly and don't burn my line. I've heard of this happening and thinking it time for a change.

i remember as a kid a three pounder was average now you have to burn through 20 fish to get ten pounds a lot of days. even a few years ago most days I had at least one over 5. I find myself fishing from memory and I think it hurts me. but guys bring in solid sacks every tournament.
Re: Berryessa
ash is on point. the east side is huge but once you start finding fish you will be surprised what they school up on out there. drop some way points and make an east side milk run. find where the creeks meet the trees or stumps is normally where I start. welcome to the lake, hope to see you out there

Launch at Capell, no theft on the weekends. You can fish north or south, central lake is boring unless you fish Spanish Flats or the sunkin vineyards. The big fish will not be on points this time of year, small smallies or spots there, unless you are fishing points inside bays or coves, stick to th...

sorry and to add. heat the rear of the hub and hit with a hammer to remove the whole assembly and replace. I use loc tight when installing the spindle nut to the axle. and buy a spare to keep in the boat. yearly I take the cap off, clean inspect and replace the seals.

you can do them your self. not hard. there are some videos online to help install if you like. I work at a shop near berryessa and see a few every year come in on fire from poor maintenance. so I get a little paranoid and still do them every year. just me but probably over kill.

to the best of my knowledge edd. I used the mounting hardware included in my boat in box kit. it sits about level with the pad or a hair lower once mounted. took it out last Sunday but didn't know I had to activate the transducer couldn't check if it worked or not.
