Re: First boat help
If your budget is tight, I recommend saving for the boat, and then saving additional money for boat repair before purchasing. Boats are a money pit. If it were me i'd spend 5K on a used fiberglass boat. Have boat/motor checked out by a marine mechanic. Clear lake with a small alluminum boat would be...

Skeet Reese A-Rig rod W&M
Won this rod in a raffle. Don't really have a need for it, have too many rods. Tags still on it. Never been used. Link below should give you the details. http://www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Wright-McGill-Skeet-Reese-Alabama-Rig-Micro-Honeycomb-Rod-75-Heavy&i=611876&am...

Re: New Boat purchase
I think step one would be to move up in truck a little. That will give you a little more leeway when your waiting to find a deal on a boat. If you could swing a glass boat they are heavier, but they also fish a lot better. Tough to control a small tin boat in the wind while trying to fish. Sounds li...

Entry fee, payback %, payback structure, etc.
Would be cool to have a low key, low entry fee, 100% payback event for the customers.

For a trolling motor battery the big Walmart everstart deep cycle batter does the trick(group 29 i think) and is pretty reasonable $$$$. Spend the money on a high end cranking battery and go cheap on the trolling motor batteries........just my opinion and what works for me. Don't use anything but th...

Check out Basscat boats. Their 20' models have a relatively short overall storage length. That was one of the reasons I got one.

If you have an idea of how many gallons it will take, fill it 3/4 of the way up and then stop for 20-30 seconds to let it settle, then continue. Seems to help me some.

Did they give you an option to upgrade or anything like that? Seems most "lifetime" warranties end up not lasting all that long. Sorry to hear this. I have my share of Powell max rods. Not familiar with the quality of the inferno series or the price difference.

Re: Best Prop for 07 150 Opti / Triton 186?
Sounds like you need more prop. A 23 or 24 pitch is probably what you want. A 24 fury would be my GUESS, but you need to talk to someone with the same boat/motor combo. There is a website called bass boat central(BBC) that has a board specifically for triton boats. Ask this same question on there an...

Re: Batteries
What size of walmart did you have? I had good luck with the group 29 or 31 everstart. The biggest most expensive one they had. I could fish for two days without charging if need be.
