Report: My brother and I spent a ew days down there. More o the same, lots o wind and some skittish ish. We ound some shallow ish in a ew pockets but didn't mess with them to much. Justin managed a nice 6lber the irst aternoon but we got blown o the lake. Messed around in the keys on Tuesday and didn't get a bite. The evening wind died down a bit so we headed up the lake towards the narrows. Finally ound an area with some staging ish right at dark. A couple o smaller ish and a slug just shy o 10lbs! Stayed out ater dark and landed 5-6 more with about as many missed ish. Nothing over 4 though. Wind kept up so we headed back to camp. Wednsday morning we had to leave and it was a gorgeous day, no wind, go igure.
      City: Arcata

Tips: Maybe I will get paired with a Nutcase this weeekend at the WON event. It should be an interesting weekend.

Report: Had a nice aternoon-night trip on Tuesday - 3 ish beore dark, 6 ater. Client had 6 bites and landed them all - very rare! Fished the west shore o the Rattlesnake arm with watermelon-red lake brush hogs carolina-rigged. Fish were next to walls, and up to 4 lbs. Ater dark we ished the south end with Magic "Big Dipper" worms and Power Worms near walls with tules. Client landed his personal best, a spawned-out 8 lb 10 oz toad. Would have liked to seen that ish 2 weeks earlier! His limit was a little over 23 lbs. It was a beautiul, warm evening!!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Fish are starting to committ to shallow water in the south end. Look or walls with hard bottom and tule clumps. Fish like those areas to spawn.

Report: Went to Clear lake or our annual spring break trip. We sihed Friday and Saturday around the State park, ripped clown and black/silver Smithwick suspenders. Fishing was slow but the ish we caught we all pretty nice. We ended up with a ew 3 to 3.5#ers a couple 4's a 5 and 2 6#ers. My buddy caught a 10.9 pounder on Saturday, it was the only ish we caught that day but some guys in told us it would have taken big sih by 4 pounds in their tournament that day. We ished at the south end on Sunday morning and I managed to get a 7.3 throwing a brown DUH!!! jig. It was a great trip. Oh yeah, even caught a 15 pound channel cat, and my riend caught a 10 lb carp ripping.
      City: Weed

Tips: WEll, ripping worked pretty good at certain times o the day, better in the evening, we caught ish on brush hogs also. My Brown and orange jigged worked or me. Even caught a 6 on a chug bug just beore dark!!!

Report: Good Day - Took awhile to ind the pattern. Wind was up in the morning. Launched in the Keys. Caught 1 about 7am against the docks coming out o the keys on a #39 magic worm. Fish were not in the keys. Waited till the wind shut down a little and went to Konocti, nothing there. Went south and started ishing the steep rock banks...bingo, ound'em. 12 to 18 eet. Caught and released 14 bass rom 8lbs to the smallest ish weighed at 3lbs. Had 28# 7 ish limit. Fish would not hit anything but a worm, shakin' it real hard right below the boat, very agressive when they ound the bait. Had a good outing or the irst o the year. Talked to some tourney pre-ishers (about 10 boats), they weren't catching anything, only a couple guys said they were catching 1 or 2 on jigs o the rocks. All o our ish came between 11am and 3pm, Good luck.
      City: Redding

Tips: I ain't good enough to give tips. But I catch all my ish down there on #39 magic worm, 6 inch, gave some out to some tourney isherman yesterday, guess they can't get them down there.

Report: WOW - 2 exciting trips, 10 ish each trip. Started 3PM Sun Aternoon - irst 5 minutes client lands a 6 1/4 on blue Weapon jig, I get a 4-9 on a brown weapon - both at entrance o south keys. Had 6 beore dark on jigs and big dead ringers. Fished all over. Ater dark, caught a 2 and 3 1/4 and then nothing or 2 hours. All o a sudden my client is grunting, trying to handle a toad. He wins - a 12 pounder ound its way into the net. Fish was on a rockpile in 25 eet. A ew minutes later he lands a 5-9 in about 4 eet. All ish ater dark were caught on 6" Big Dipper Magic worms with 4/0 Mr. Twister keeper hooks - outstanding big ish hooks or thick baits. The monster was hooked at 10:30 PM. I have been ortunate enough to see many 12+ pounders in the boat - but each one is a thrill!!The next aternoon clients and I caught ive males up to 3 lbs around Rattlesnake island using Rodstrainer jigs and dead ringers (watermelon and junebug). Ater dark, my clients landed a ew 2 1/2's and lost a good one at the pumphouse south o Knocti Inn on a Weapon jig. Switched them back to Big Dipper Magic worms and bingo - guy rom Ohio lands an 8-1 and 7-14 back to back. He was a basket case - that's almost a state record in Ohio! We are ishing steep rocky areas with deep water nearby.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: I think north end has more shallow ish. So ar, not too many big ish have moved shallow - south o the narrows. Caught many good ish last week on jigs in deep water. The three or our warm days that are promised should get them moving. Look or staging areas irst. Some ish are moving into the keys. Watermelon/red lake is a good color.

Report: I ished with my younger brother on Monday and Tuesday. We arrived late monday and didn't start ishing until ater dark. Wind was howling so we didn't get to ar rom Rattlesnake but we managed to ind several quality ish including a 7.6 or my brother. Day ishing on tuesday produced lots o dinks to 1.0 on grubs and only three quality ish to 4 lbs on Crankbaits. Tuesday night was lat calm and some haze blocked the moon a little. We got to ish all around the lower hal o Rattlesnake arm and had a lot o bites only seven in the boat to 5.8 on worms, jigs, and crankbaits. I came back down on Friday to ish with Larry Hemphill. We started early and threw crankbaits a little or no ish. We started throwing jigs as the sun was lower. I had three bites until dark a 7lb 9oz, a dink, then a 7lb 6oz. Not a bad start. We at dinner at Konocti or an hour then went back out and headed south. We stayed on a quarter mile stretch most o the night and landed a total o 19 ish. I landed a at 8lb 10oz ish and larry had two 6.5 lbers or our best ive at over 36lbs! Best ten were just over 60 lbs!! Truly an awesome night.
      City: Arcata

Tips: When there was cloud cover and the air was warm the ish were eeding well. As the clouds moved on the bites were much harder to come by. All ish came on jigs with grub trailers and 8"-10" worms. The bigger ish are just starting to eed, several were still rather skinny.

Report: I used a pointer 100 minnow/ghost all day to try it out while my partner used jerk baits and cranks. We came up with 15 ish. Rocks/weed near deep water was our key. A ew ish came rom docks. We had two nice ish 6.7/5.2 rom the pointer minnow. It was cloudy and about 50 degree's with a strong wind on the main lake.
      City: marysville

Report: We tried to beat the storm on Sun but it was already rolling in. Strong winds and heavy rain all aternoon but we still managed to catch around 15 ish rom 1-2.5 lbs in the rattlesnake arm. Most o them bit small pointer minnows and crankbaits in windblown pockets. Monday the wind started blowing out o the North but didn't get to bad. We ished rocky points and rees with cranks and jigs mostly and caught about 10 ish up to 5.4 with the best ive going 17-18. Not to bad or the day ater a major ront. We tried some night ishing at the areas we had bites beore but only had 4 smaller ish. On tuesday we decided to give the north end a try or a ew hours in the morning. It was partly cloudy with no wind but a little chilly. We concentrated on deeper rocky areas and caught ish on crankbaits and jerkbaits. Not a single bite on worms or jigs. Smaller ish were up around the docks, but we ound several good ish to 5.3 with a 16 lb+ limit. Also lost several heavy ish on cranks. Wished we could have stayed or the aternoon bite!
      City: Arcata

Tips: With the water temp dropping pausing the crankbaits and jerkbaits a lot produced more bites. Jig bites came on a slow drag.

Report: Fished the 100% Western Team Roundup. WOW! 283 boats and it was still great. Fishing was slow or many. Mike R. and I ound a pattern that produced 9 ish 1.5-3# or a 2 day limit o 18+. We just couldn't get the bigger ish we needed to round out the limit. All our ish were caught on blades ished on weed lines/patches in 3.5 - 9 eet o water. We ished the north end o the lake although some good ish came rom the south end also. Fish seemed to be concentrated on key structure and weeds. The weeds are dying o ast.
      City: Brentwood

Tips: I you need small ish to round out a limit try small shad pattern blades ished close to weeds.
