Re: Profession - State Employee

I worked for the state as a student assistant for 2 years and I got picked up a few days ago as a permanent( I took the test a few months ago) . Take as many tests that you qualify for! I would also apply for a student or seasonal job also (they do not require tests, but it can help you get your foo...

Re: Some Folsom lake boaters have no class.....

Hey James,

Like Lewis Black says, "Only the good die young, but pricks live forever!", and that lake is full of them (at least in the summer!).

Re: Spawn at Amador??

I was there last Thursday and Friday. I saw them in most of the major coves. Most of the large fish that I saw were in around 10ft. Saw a few spawning, but the majority of the fish I saw were bedding males. Couldn't get any of the big ones to hit.

Watch out for rocks at Folsom in this muddy water

Went out to Folsom on Monday. The water was really muddy. I was fishing about 10ft than all the sudden "bump", hit a nice granite boulder! Could not see the damn thing!

Re: Too late for surface swimbaits?

Not much, there were a lot of traffic from the trouters. It looked like all of the fish were really deep (40+ feet) but I could not catch a thing (bass). We did catch a few trout with small rattle traps.

Folsom Craws

Has anyone seen red or blue crawdads at Folsom? I have only seen a few and so far they have only been brown/green pumpkin color.

Re: Amador Info

Hey Dom, I was there about a month ago. Throughout the day, I would see schools of small bass chase shad to the surface, you would see nothing but top water commotion all over the place, we caught a few on spooks. The frog bite was ok in some of the coves with a little bit of slop in the corners. Di...

Re: "Reel" Honest Opinions, Please...

Hey Ken, I have Curados, Chronarchs and Shimano Scorpions. All great reels. Since I am now on a limited budget, I tried some Quantum reels. A while back Cabela's had a special (buy the reel get a rod free) with the Quantum Accurast. I forgot the model # but its the Accurast that comes in blue, red o...

Thank you all for the info. I will practice on a lot. I think the best thing as far as practice on the water, is probably on the Delta (again to avoid the heavy traffic on Folsom)?

New boat, where to start?

Hey guys, We picked up our first boat today and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where would be the safest place to practice backing in and out of a ramp, and just practicing in general (we have never had one before or have driven a boat). I am close to Folsom, but I am affraid it wo...

I have had a wonderful opportunity to be able to work for, and fish with Mark. He was great to work with, actually we didn't really work, most of the time we would talk about fishing! He introduced me to tournament fishing and helped me realize that it can be done (I had always been afraid to do tou...
