Lithium battery for TM?
Hello Westernbass, Now that Lithium battery prices are coming down, I've been doing some more research. I'd be using 36V system for Ultrex for 21 ft Triton bass boat. Some companies list their 12v 100 Ah battery, but also have one that says Trolling Motor on it, or is labeled as for Trolling Motors....

For Sale: BPS Carbonlite spinning rod
I am selling a Bass Pro Shops Carbonlite spinning rod. 7'2" Medium Fast action. It's on the order of 5 years old but lightly used since I use other rods more. On BPS website, they do not have this model anymore. Top and bottom label are below. Rod is fully functional with stock guides. No issue...

Re: Does it get any Better!!!!!
that is great! I am trying to do that with my nearly-4 year old boy. I was fishing from shore with a drop shot and got a bite while he was standing right next to me. I set the hook and put the rod in his hand (with one of mine on it just in case) and let him bring it in. It jumped 4 times before I l...

more "reliable"?
I thank all for the feedback on 4-strokes vs. 2-strokes! Lots of great opinions. I have heard the 4-strokes are like auto engines, and as such are more reliable and less prone to breaking down. any thoughts? I wonder because I have some buddies who used to ride motorcycles alot tell me about this is...

why so few 4-strokes on bass boats?
Why do you think there are so few 4-stroke outboards out there? I have heard about the problems with the Verado. But what about the Honda or the Yamaha?

Re: Launch fees at markeley cove??
Our club launched there yesterday (sunday the 10th). Launch fee was $15. There are actually 2 docks there, not too long, about 4 boat lengths. When cold, watch out, that metal grate that connects the dock to the launch ramp is really slippery!! with good drivers, you can launch 3 at a time, but 2 is...

Re: Seal Skinz Question
I have read that a light liner under Seal Skinz socks are helpful, but don't have them to try. I am thinking of getting a pair too.... does anyone where wicking socks, e.g. wool, over the Seal Skinz? I have heard that they keep you dry, but are not well insulated. Maybe the other sock over the top w...

Re: Footware for the rain
one thing to remember about feet getting wet and cold is....the rain getting your pants wet. If the bottom of your pants get wet, then they can wick onto your socks (gravity, plus they are right next to each other), then this wetness drains down into your boots or shoes. You may have waterproof boot...

ponds around Fairfield
Hello All, I was going to a meeting in Napa, but staying around Fairfield near the Highway 80 and 12 junction. Saw a few ponds on the maps, like Green Valley Lake Park (just north of this intersection). I was looking for a pond or two to fish, either from shore or from a float tube. Anyone familiar ...

Float tubes and kick boats......where to go?
for those who like to float tube or Kick boat for bass, where do you like to go? I'm looking for moderate but safe access, with low boat traffic. I don't mind catching just 1-2 pounders to do it. I have heard Rancho Seco is good. I am looking for places in the Delta where there is less big boat traf...

4-stroke vs. others
Has anyone heard or know anything about any of the Northern California lakes limiting motors (similar to what happened at Diamond Valley in SoCal) in the future? any word on how grandfathering in may work? Not sure if this is just being considered, or if there are any lakes that have actually implem...

Re: kaenon kore sunglasses help
I looked at all the different tints, and decided on the yellow. this allows maximum light penetration while still being polarized. Note that these glasses give 100% protection of UV rays. so the only differences are how much visible light you want or can tolerate, and how they look on you. (Remember...

Re: beyond fizzing for deep bass....
Good input! thanks! Yeah, those fish that swim up from deep we can't help. all you can do is keep tight lines!! that is an interesting point....if a suspended fish 30+ feet deep comes up to nail a spook, then maybe it doesn't get bent the way we can. I think the key is....the fish is swimming up. we...

beyond fizzing for deep bass....
I wanted to see what others thought about the possibility of DCS (decompression sickness) in fish. AS a former recreational scuba diver, I find this particulary interesting, especially with all the posts and articles about care of deep bass and fizzing. Any of you divers or pilots are particularly e...

The info posted so far is pretty much right on. In general, "tennis elbow", aka lateral epicondylitis, is an overuse injury that takes lots of time to develop, thus takes lots of time to heal. Initial forms of treatment are generally ice, activity modification (e.g. fish with the other han...

Glennt, Total Hip replacement is great for pain relief due to arthritis. The above info from other input is pretty much accurate regarding recovery and need to do the rehab.
