you cant go wrong with the Crucial spinning rod, for drop shots. Crucial has a very light feel to it, i have two for drop shot and two for dartheading.

the boat launch will be full this weekend at Del Valle. Just dont break the speed limit of you will be soooooorrrrrrry!

Del Valle is a nice lake and i know the record there is 18+ so it could be true.

i use 30# and have caught some good fish on it, never been broke off. I tried the 50# but it just seemed very userfriendly.

I have the new Cardiff 300, its a bit larger in size to hold the bigger diameter lines. Its also a heavy duty Salmon style reel so throwing the heavy bait dosent damage the bearings.

Its a great $100.00 reel, i recommend it.

Lazy M to Sherman..... Run up old river to Holland pass across Franks Track pass Fisherman's cut, spot Antioch bridge pass under stay to the right Sherman is about a mile from the bridge. About a 40 minute run, granted i may not be runnning 65 at all times but sometimes i can make up for the 40 mph ...

my boat dosent do 80, but i have stayed at 65 for about 30-40 minutes. Launched at Lazy-M, fished Italian ran up to Sherman for the heck of it, just to see what kinda milage the boat would get.

i use 6'6" for blades and 7' for cranking. I dont feel like 6' has the leverage when setting the hook.

i pass by Crystal Springs a few times a year and always wished they would open that lake. It's a beautiful lake, very long. Would they open it to boats you think?

i think it would be a good way to color code your reels. I know i have alot of the same reels on slightly different rods of the same brand, this would be a good way to tell your cranking stick from your worming rod in a instant.
