Report: Fished Sat. morning from 8:00 till 12:30 PM. Haven't been out to Callero for 4-5-months was thinking I might get a little topwater action with all of the shad I saw and the occasional boils. No luck at all took me awhile until I finally tried deeper water. Ended up with four 12" - 14" all off a point in 15-18' of water. All came on a watermelon spidergrub on a 3/8 oz. football leadhead. Wish I had made the adjustment earlier.
      City: Newark

Tips: Fish deep and make sure you have contact with the bottom.

Report: (This is for you Tommy P ) We launched out of Hog Back early sat. morning, anticipating the Smallie bite on the Sac. Started throwing Buzzbaits in the marinas nearby, and scored on a few largemouth up to two pounds.Since I caught a few doing that I tried flipping the "Micster" worm, loaded with Smelly jelly. My first pitch into a bush produced a nice 21 1/2 inch,6lb plus largemouth.Caught a small limit after that and went to the sac.above the Isleton bridge. We ,(two boats) cranked till our arms went stiff.(four hours at least, both tides) and boated only one keeper. The bite was definately off that day, in that area. The fish were in the 12'-15' depth. I caught a few dinks split shottin. If I were to fish there again, I'd try nearer Vierra's,as Cooch and others have been getting better fish cranking those banks. See Ya!!!!
      City: San Leandro

Tips: Craw type cranks for the smallies. Don't overlook the Marinas and Oxbows like Cooch says.

Headed in about 11:30 to watch the weighin at the hook.

      Water Temp: 70-71

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Brent and I float tubed Calero Friday from about 8:30AM-5PM. Weather was calm, cloudy, and warm untill about noon when the wind picked up. It also rained (!?!?!) on and off for the first few hours. We saw bass busting at shad on the surface, complete with diving birds, but we were never there at the right time. Tried a Splash-It and a Castaic Threadfin Shad where we saw them busting but no takers. We ended up catching a little over 20 bass dragging worms and jigs in deeper, 17-30', water. Nothing over 3 pounds. We couldn't catch anything in water shallower than about 15 feet. There were also some suspended fish, but we didn't go after them. I caught one of them by accident when it grabbed a jig on the fall.
      City: Mountain View

Tips: Fish jigs and worms in natural colors (greens/browns) on the deep end of rocky points.
