Alabama Bass will not be reintroduced. The Southern strain bluegill that were the likely impetus for the Alabama Bass demise within Perris are still thriving, making any attempt at reintroduction a waste of time.

It's actually amusing to me that AGFC is hyping this when their own studies conclude that a genetically based stocking program will not effectively increase the trophy potential of a population.

Here is a link to a study done on barotrauma related mortality of FLMB in SoCal. FIzzing is only beneficial when done properly. They're not halibut...they shouldn't be on their side at the bottom of the tank after treatment.

the farther back and away from the main lake, the warmer the water, the more (and bigger) bass there were. At least that's how it was when we did removals of warmwater species from the keys 8-10 years ago.

Why does CDFW need to stock bass? At this very moment and for the past 3-4 months the adult stock in every waterbody that hold whatever Micropterus sp. are making BILLIONS more. These Sharelunker and/or bass stocking programs contribute a negligible amount to the fisheries they "supplement"...

No algae problems at DVL that I have seen. It may return but the lake is starting to stratify and they are not bringing water in so any significant upwelling which feeds the blooms shouldn't be an issue.

A year of closure will not "change" or have any appreciable effect upon a bass fishery. San Vicente was closed for about 10 years. After about day 3 following reopening it was the same as every other lake in SoCal.
