    Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Had to get the boat out today on the river since it was so nice. First time out since October. Water was stained to muddy and 46 degrees. Boat ran great, as Yamahas usually do. My dad and I fished for three hours and had 6 bites, landing 5. Three were smallmouths from 2-2.25 pounds. The two others were largemouths, one 2 pounds and one 4 pounder, which was caught by my dad. Three were caught on jigs and two were caught on a zipper grub. All the fish were very healthy and appeared to have weathered the high water well.

Tips: Drag it slow...very slow. But when they bit there was no doubt about it.

We fished in eddies by the current seams. Chewed my prop coming up behind an island. The water around it looked verticle. Drifted down to deeper water and split shot a couple.

    Water Temp: 46.3

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Took the boat out today or a run and also did some smallmouth ishing. the water was cold and muddy, but the weather was nice. I ished some slack water areas next to rip rap,and ended up catching one smallie @ 3.4 lbs on a black/blue 1/4 oz. jig-n-craw with crawish smelly jelly scent.Fished or another 3 hours with no more takers.Cant complain or or mid-winter.
    City: mcminnville

Tips: Fish slack water areas in winter, ish dont like to ight current in real cold water. Work jigs, 4" tubes, etc. on the bottom and ish real SLOW.

    Water Temp: 66

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: 9-28-01 mysel and a buddy hit the river in the Salem area @ o-dark thirty and ished 1/2 day which saw some consistancy in the 2 to 3lb range smallies, mainly on iness plastics and a ew on cranks in the 2' to 15' depth range. we managed about 15 ish
    City: Salem

Tips: In the all, as we are now, be prepared! ish are becoming more agressive and can be caught on almost anything. For aster action concentrate your eorts on the upper water column like less than 15'. Unless o course you have the always producing hot spot at greater depths. The reason or ishing shallower is so you can cover more water thouroughly. The more aggressive ish will be here.

Tips: used a 1/8 ounce lead head with a Yamamoto green pumpkin super grub for both fish. Anything green works on the Willamette.
