Report: What a blast fished thursday and friday and caught over 125 smallies between 2-4lbs. Basic natural colors worked best. Caught them between 8-40 feet. Bite was soft. Used my Ordella Drop shot rod to catch all of them. Best 7' rod out there for this technique.

Whatcom Lake
-
Water Temp: 64
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Whatcom. Started on Northern end pilings. Used silver and blue rattle-trap and green jig with white grub trailer. Had some sparatic luck. Moved down the lake (still in the northern section) on the east side to the last set of pilings before hitting the deep portion of the lake. There is a large rock that is visible heading towards the shoreline. In this area there is a rocky ledge. Caught quite a few large smallmouths starting in this area throwing chartuese 3/16 oz spinner bait with white grub trailer. One was about 5 pounds. Followed the pilings northward, casting towards docks and caught a few more smallies. Tried to keep the boat in water between 10 and 15 feet.
Good luck

Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: First off id like to say I know this lake inside and out ive pulled lots of 8lbs pound to 10lbs large mouth bass out of this lake since i was a kid the best time to fish there is towards the tail end of spring time using tub baits or or jigs its really important to use a slow jigging
motion because the bass at this time are still kind of slow but they are very hungry so YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT
I was intrested in taking a more up close and personal look at the monster large mouths so i went and got my scubba diving license and this is no big fish story ive seen plenty of 10 12 pound plus monsters in this lake a buddy of mine didnt belive me and he is certified diver so i aked him to take a dive with me and he made excuse after excuse not to go diving with me it took me two months of bugging him two finally get him to go with me and the first dock we went to was my favorite hot spot to fish right of the bat we saw about 10 bass most bass under there was 3lbs to 7lbs but on the back side of the dock near the bottom of the pilling there was about a 9 to 10 pound bass and he looked and me and his eye balls got huge and i was trying to figure what he was freaking out about were down about 10 foot of water and he pointed up towards the surface and i looked towars his finger and at the back of the dock were the ladder was a monster bass the biggest bass i have ever seen in my life this bass had to been 15lbs it was amazing and my adrenaline was pumping we both swam to shore as fast as we could to run up to are houses to grab are poles and gear buy the time we ran back down there was some kids down there and they saw the bass and got excited they were making a lot of noise and scared the bass away i was so upset that the fish was gone i felt like crying my buddy from that point on was fishing every day that he could(lets just say he got hooked for life)
City: stanwoodTips: (tips for june) use a pumpkin seed tub bait or a sparkling red and black color the red and black you can catch big small mouth
(tips for july) use a rattel traps craw fish patterns or baby large mouth patterns and towards the dusk i like to use small black and shiney silver rapalas surface lures I use a zig zag jerkin pattern
(Agust) I love to use the bill dance fat free shad I knock them dead all day with that lure if that slows down at all i like to use a buzz bait or a spinner bait with a split tail trailer usally I use a shartruse color for the spinner bait tipcal size spinner bait but for the buzz bait I like is a small sized buzz bait the color I use is all black
sorry I forgot (may )tub baits and this may sound funny but fluffy featherd stlyed baits the more feathers the better colors use natural colors like a brownish orange mixed with black but my favorite feather style jig is all black its a steelhead lure but it workes awsome for spring fishing in lake goodwin salted jigs also do real well in lake goodwin remmember to change colors and patterns according to weather condition I hope you have a very productive fishing trip at lake goodwin GOOD LUCK

Whatcom Lake

Water Temp: 66
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: STRONGLY RECOMMEND GIVING LAKE WHATCOM A TRY FOR BASS AND PERCH. FOR SUCH A DECENT SIZED LAKE, THERE REALLY ISN'T VERY MUCH TRAFFIC OR WATER SKIING.
Fished Lake Whatcom from 6:30am to 7:00pm. Lake was a little rough with alot of current due to wind. Fished southern most portion searching for bass.
On the southern most portion next to the old railroad pilings, found lots of perch. Starting catching them on small green crappie jig with tiny real worm trailer.
Didn't start catching bass until 3 or 4 p.m. Caught about 10, 1-2 lb largemouth on cliff drop off's in the southern most section on chartuese 3/16 oz spinner baits with white 4" grub trailer. All fish seemed to be holding between 10-20 feet deep. Just fish the shoreline starting at the still active railroad tressle and work the shoreline keeping the boat in about 30-40 feet of water.
There is several grass beds in the southern most end in depths between 2-10 feet. Saw several bass there, but could not get them to bite.
If anyone has any info on this lake, please let me know. Especially for smallmouth (locations and tactics).
Thanks, and good luck to all.

Report: Up on vacation@birth bay. This is a very nice lake with lots of vegatation ( hope they don't kill it all off by dropping the water levels). Wish I drove my bass boat up here ( maybe next Vacation).
City: American Canyon, CaliforniaTips: Some good advice. if your a bass angler on this lake, try a snag proof frog, and you have to try the drop shot with an arron magic worm 4-6" , this time of the year. With all the vegatation and those great lily pads, this would be the ideal technics. let me know how you did.
: )
p.s. love to own some property around those parts.

Report: Fished Lake Washington on Monday to do some field testing of my line of hand pours(West Coast Custom Tackle). Started out split shotting a reaper off of the south end of Mercer Island. Caught 1 about a pound, missed a couple(not sure if they were bass or perch). Decided to drop shot up the east channel and started hitting fish left and right. Most came on a drop shot worm and reaper and a couple came on a sculpin. Had a pretty good day with a few very nice smallies. Best five probably went 17 pounds or so. Can't wait to get out and hit it again. Tight Lines.
