Report: We (Tim and I) had a great time at the Frostbite Tournament this year. The weather was cold imagine that. Saterday it was in the teens in the morning and low 30's in the aternoon. Sunday woke up to airly heavy snow and a little wind temps in the 20's. and it snowed all day. The ishing was good I caought 20-30 on saterday but nothing bigger than 2lbs. Leadheads worked in the morning but switched over to drop shot and caught most o my ish on that. Very slow movement and the bite was very lite. Some time you wouldnt even know you had a hit untill you moved it and you elt weight. Sunday same story but slower bite only gat 10-15 ish and only one keeper, no good i we wanted to win but hey we had a good time. Colors that worked best are brown with red lake and brown with silver lake. Tried many other baits and colors but nothing else would work or us. The turn out was pretty good around 40 boats, we are all hoping that more people will keep coming. Its a great tournament so please spread the word so we can get this thing bigger. Thanks to everyone who helped put this one i had a great time and will be there next year. Have a great year and good ishingBrian WaltersWashington Bass Assoc.
City: Electric CityTips: the ish were not as deep as i thought they would be. any where between 10 and 35 eet. slow movements are deinatly the key or success in the colder months. be patient and you will get them. Darker colors seemed to work better when it gets colder

The key was inding a Largemouth, then backing way o or several minutes. Finally make a long cast past the ish's holding position and bring the Minnow to him. Strikes ranged rom mildly agressive to barely noticable.Better luck next time and -Full Livewells, Smitty

Report: Fished the Western Bass Club tournament this last weekend on Potholes. Fishing was air, with larger ish tough to come by. The big ish or the tournament was a 4lb. largemouth caught by ellow tin boater, Larry Sullivan. Lyle Logston (sp?) won the tournament with 10 ish weighing 14+ pounds.I caught a decent amount o ish over the weekend, but not much size to them. Keeper ish came on 176 yamamotos rigged on a jighead and hotlips cranks. Smallies were anywhere rom 5-20 eet deep and near rocky points. Most ish were caught in Lind Coulee and Goose Island. With the water almost 20 eet below pool, the dunes were void o any willow cover, and were tough to get into... watch out or shallow water! The mornings both days were cold, with air temps below reezing at times. The wind stayed down all weekend, except or late Sunday when a slight breeze kicked up. The water is pea green right now, so you can ish up pretty tight.
City: NewcastleTips: Don't run on plane in the dunes :)

Report: a riend told me about lake washington having some pretty big smallmouth bass. So i decided to see or mysel. The place it was under I-90 on westside, lots o rocks there, i caught the irst bass with a Bill Dance medium runner crankbait, using a stop and go, stop and go slow. I caught my second bass a three pounder with a spinnerbait. So anyone o them two would work right o the shore 10 to 15 eet just crank it back slow

Report: Actually this report is or Lake Sawyer, but no listing so I'll try this.Hit the water at 6:15 with Cultiva topwater walking bait. 2nd cast yielded a 3.5 lb LM just about 75' south o the launch. Caught another 1 lbr about 100" urther and then the topwater bite died. Fished docks on the east side o the lake with Senkos (Olive Blk Flake) & (Blue Pearl) caught two more around 2.5 lbs and lost one who wrapped me around a piling. Saw a large 6 plus under a dock and tried hal the tacklebox or about 40 minutes She got interested in a pumpkinseed rench ry but that was it. Fishing turned o at 11 when the ski-boats and jet-skiis started running. Not a bad morning at all or the 1st time this year on this lake.
