    • Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Dana and I fished a half day 7-12 noon today to try out my new hummingbird. Even though I spent lots of time learning the hummingbird, we still managed only 7 spots, nothing of any size. Water is warming a tad more, up to 59-60 degrees. Most fish on dark roboworms early, lighter as the day went on. Fish came out of 15-30 feet of water. Be careful, wood all over and hard to see it at times.

Tips: Anyone with a boat looking for a fish partner, let me know and lets go catch some spots together. Email me at Jewelweaver@earthlink.net Tom

    • Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I forgot to mention another 2 1/4 lb largemouth on a Senko. Five total for the trip, only about 13 lbs total.

    • Water Temp: 58-63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I guess I am the only one who posts reports for Pardee - check the date - this is a NEW report - 2014!! I started about 12:30 pm (yes, I wish it could have been 12:30 am!), running around, looking things over. I started fishing seriously in the river arm about 1:30 pm, My first bass was a nice largemouth pushing 3 lbs. My next was even nicer, a beautiful unspawned (is that a word?) largemouth at exactly 4 1/2 lbs. They both hit a #301 wacky Senko. Still in the river arm, using a jig, a 2 3/4 lb smallie wore me out trying to land her. Wow!! My last fish was a bare keeper smallie. The sun was bright and wind mostly calm - great if one were sight fishing. I looked around some but didn't see any beds. I fished 'til about 6 pm and was the last one to leave. I threw swimbaits the last hour, but no hits.

Tips: If island tops are your thing, you will be very happy (unless you run aground on one! Be careful. Most are clearly marked. I didn't find much on the islands, all my bass were on shoreline structure except the small one. All bites were about 12 to 20 feet - all midafternoon.

Report: Ok George, they're posted in photo section. Sorry that they're of single fish, we release them immediately after pics.

Tips: They are really healthy & full of fight!

    • Water Temp: 54-58

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: It must be tournament time, or no one can write anymore. Not much help for folks here anymore. I took 3 guys out this last Thurs, hoping to get a good afternoon bite - but the wind killed us again. We started at 10 am - hoping for the water to warm. It did not - stayed at 57 all day with another day of south wind. One of the fellows landed a 3 1/2 lber, and a few other bites were missed in the wind. I finally started fishing a bit with a Senko and soon nailed a 6 lber and later a bare keeper. Finally, the guy next to me set on a good one that almost cleared the water. She went 5.05 lbs. He was very excited and so was I - saved the day! He was using a Berkely Havoc bait. Very slow bite - but I am sure they had bites they didn't feel.

Tips: We fished mostly on the west side of the Clearlake arm. Wind was no calmer on the east side. I was embarrassed for our sport when a bass boat cut in front of me and the only other boat within miles, coming off plane. He talked to the other guy but didn't even look our way! I guess this could be common tournament behavior, or we weren't worthy of his respect. However, my clients weren't impressed at all. What a shame.

      Water Temp: 59-62 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Orwood at 7:15 and ran up to Franks Tract and fished the back of tule islands. Got windy so ran over to Little Mandeville to fish the breaks. 1 keeper, 1 dink, still a little breezy. On the way down to Disco, saw a little cove where we thought there might be some spawners. Picked up a couple keepers on dropshot (video: http://youtu.be/ivlyHSPSKD0) but saw no beds. Rest of fish came on dropshot (me) and t-rig weightless senko (buddy) down in Disco Bay. 13 fish total for the boat but only 5 keepers. This week should be off the chain.
      City: San Mateo

Tips: I don't care for finesse fishing (too slow) but man if they aren't even biting a jerk bait it's good to know a technique that'll get a bite. For me it's dropshot on 8# Tatsu, Pumpkin Punisher Roboworm. Get's em every time.

    • Water Temp: 60-62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Not a bad day on the water. Caught 10-12 fish while in four hours on the water. At least one hour of which was used getting the kids un-snagged or re-tying lines. Most fish caught up the Bear River arm on plastics. Couple out of Rock Creek as well, too windy to locate any beds.

Tips: Plastics was all I could get bit on, threw a spinner bait and a crank bait with no luck.

    • Water Temp: 56.2

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Doing this at 5:00 am & forgot to say our best five last nite went 38.7! They were: 9.9, 8.6, 7.2, 6.14, 6.8!

Tips: This was one of the best trips ever on this lake!

    • Water Temp: 53.8-56.2

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Report for the last two days. Got on the water Tues nite @ midnight, slow steady showers but no wind. Best day number wise getting them on jigs, senkos, & crankbaits. We didn't move around much staying in Konocti Bay. Boated 17 with 10 of them going under 3 lbs. We did get a good limit of 34.13 with the best five going 7.6, 7.2, 7.1, 6.11, 6.9! Got chased off by heavy rain at 4:30am. Weds. Got on at 7:00 pm, ran to Henderson, Shag, Dollar & blanked. Got into a small bite in Jones Bay around 9:00pm & snagged a fat 9.9 & 7.2 on (you guessed it!) jigs. Ran to Konocti & scored a few sixes & a few dinks. Went in for dinner at 11:00pm, came back out at 12:30 & managed only two more but one was a nice 8.8. Bite shut down on us after 1:30 & we blanked the rest of the night. It was all a jig bite. We were happy about the big fish strikes, the pre spawn bite has been off the charts this season for night fishing!

Tips: We don't do much day fishing, but the night bite for us is the way to go. The water being so clear, I think you stand the best chance when it's dark. We caught almost all fish near Rocky structure in 12-20ft. Hop & pull the jig in a slow presentation. We were using Brown 1/2 oz. Rodstrainer jigs with green trailers. The Damiki Knockout was one that worked for us. The rain y weather may have helped as well!Best tip we can give is fish Clear Lake now! I've never seen it better!

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Caught around 15 bass in White Slough and Disappointment Slough but nothing big. Most were in the 1-2 lbs. range with a couple of dinks thrown in. Four were caught on a white/chartreuse spinnerbait, a couple on cranks, and the rest on a blue/black Senko.

    • Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water @ 10pm for a really slow start. Around 11pm, picked up a few 2 lber's then stuck a 8.15 & a 7.14, all on jigs. As the night progressed,we added one here, then one there for a total of 11 total. Quality was still good, it seemed much slower than last night because we were out longer. All fish came on jigs tonite except one crankbait fish that went 7.2. We had to slow the presentation down and the bites were very subtle. They were also a little deeper, around 20ft. No blade, Senko, or Texas rig fish. Best five were 8.15, 7.14, 7.2, 6.11, 6.8 for a total of 37.2. We had a lot of dropped baits tonight so we had to Rush some hooksets.

Tips: Again we fished south, wanted to try Shag Rock & Henderson because the wind died, but was too tired plus we had intermittent rain! Anyway, slow down, watch your line because any pressure could be a fish! Also Rocky points were best for us. Even getting soaked, the quality was good & made it worthwhile!

    • Water Temp: 55

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water @ 2:30am. Unbelievable fishing. We boated only 15 fish & with the exception of two 3.5's, they all were BIG! We caught two on the Senko, six on the crankbait,(finally a reaction bite!) & the rest on jigs. The color of the evening was green. Didn't matter which hue, they just wouldn't hit anything Brown. The wind started from the north, a light breeze, went slack @ 3:00 am & stayed dead for an hour. That's when the crankshaft bite was on. Wind then shifted from the SE & the jig bite took off. We were fishing south again in Konocti Bay. Our best five were 10.2, 8.14, 8.6, 8.2, 7.11 for our best limit ever ( including El Salto) of 43.3 lbs. Wow, congrats to Ted who caught his pb - 10.2. They preferred a medium retrieve & whatever we threw, they smacked it hard!

Tips: Fish this lake! Many of our fish were doubles off the, same spot. We caught them in 12-20ft & they seemed to favor Rocky structure! Will see if the weather let's us fish tomorrow night!

What a difference a week makes!! I took out Danielle and Ben at noon hoping to get a couple of hours of fishing in before the weather changed. Getting to the vineyards was easy because the whitecaps pushed in that direction. When we got to the first barbed wire fence I stopped in twenty feet of water and before I could let my electric motor down we were in seven feet so I had to go deeper and let my motor down. The wind kept pushing me towards shore it was a battle to keep the boat in the strike zone. I kept this up for a while till I decided it was to hard to control the boat but Danielle got a hit as we were ready to leave and she played the fish for about five minutes and ended up bringing in her largest fish of the day a nice bass weighing in at 4.5 lbs using a senko worm weightless texas rig and "Procure" crawdad scent. We headed back as the wind picked up and the clouds were gathering we made it in before the rain (see photos). My buddy Albert fished from shore and landed a 2+ lb bass using a Carolina rig with brass and glass with a black creature (see photo). 'til next week.......................................................good fishing!!!!!!

    • Water Temp: 60 - 93

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Friday 3-28-14, we launched out of Holland Riverside Marina and fished inside and outside of Mildred Tract (Island). We fished only with wacky rigged Sencos and drop-shoot rigged 7 in. RoboWorms. We ended the day with 64 fish. Almost all of the fish were caught on several colors of the 7 in. RoboWorms. Try different colors but those that are blue or purple work best. Only a few were caught on 6 and 7 in. Pumpkin and Water Mellon colored Sencos. The fished ranged from 1 lb. to 4 lb. with most in the 2 lb to 3 lb range (all males). The several fish that we caught in the 3 to 4 lb range were female. As the tide moved out there were no fish near shore. They were in at least 5 ft of water off shore and in the trees. Just before high tide and as it started to move out, fish were caught near shore. We did not see any beds.
      City: Pinole

Tips: The water temperature is right for the spawn. However, it looks like the males are only moving in an out looking for bedding areas. They appear not to be committed yet because of the cold nights and the new moon.

Report: Caught my personal best ever fish in Oroville today. A giant 20 inch, 4.25 pound spotted bass hog. Got it on a curly tail roboworm in 20 feet of water. Got 8 other spots, 2 16", 2 14 1/2" with the rest 13-14" Great day on the water for me. Let the hog go in Lime Saddle to grow bigger.

    • Water Temp: 60-64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Clear Lake is living up to its name - its gone clear again!! Mike Sperbeck and I decided to do a Monday evening trip - NOT KNOWING - the Holder tournament had been held Sat and Sun. Mike and I couldn't figure out why during the few hours before dark we could only catch 4 bass - the biggest at barely ONE pound!! What is going on?? As the sun set on a gorgeous evening, I finally stick a good one at 5 1/2 lbs, my first good Senko bass of the year. The fishing continued to be fair thru the first 2 hrs after dark and then simply died! Mike and I managed three around 4 1/2 lbs and I did get big fish at 6.87 lbs, on a jig. We both lost a really big bass. We could have had a really good limit had we landed one of those, but we were pleased with best 5 around 25 1/2 lbs. We had around 13-14 bass total - NOT counting the dinks!!! Our quality bass were all 10 to 20 feet - a little deeper than previous trips. We were using Senkos, beavers, Havoc baits, and jigs.

Tips: It was interesting to see after our trip, wiping off the Ranger, absolutely NO moisture on the boat. That is how dry the atmosphere is. That never happens on a cloudless night during the cold months. We covered most of the west side of the Clearlake arm which I am sure had been previously covered well by the tournament anglers! At least they saved us a few!!

    • Water Temp: 60 am 63 aftern

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: We fished Bartlett once again on Sun from 8am till 1PM as we had to be home by 2PM to be with the wife/kids. Working off the same pattern as the week before we fished primarily drop shot on main lake and secondary points leading into spawning coves. Seems every point held at least 1-2 fish in 15' of water like last week where the water clarity was at least a foot or more. This week we started at the dam and worked our way towards the middle of the lake. Didn't get our first fish in the boat until 10:45am however the size was a little better this week than last. Not as many bites but we're starting to put a better pattern together.

We didn't see much activity on the graph around the points near the dam area but we did see some huge schools of bass out in the middle of the lake over 100' of water chasing what looked like shad or bluegill in 30-40'. Not exactly sure how to catch those bass but we did try throwing spoons for them for a little bit. Any advice on how to catch those fish or what they are would be greatly appreciated.

Spoke to a few other boats who were on the same pattern as us running points and ran into a guy with a Tracker aluminum bass boat with his 2 teenage kids in the back. He too was out last Sunday and was catching unusually larger bass in the 3+ lb range last week whereas most our fish we were catching were rats. Rather than throwing the Bartlett staple of morning dawn chart tip roboworm (like we were throwing) he was throwing the new Strike King dropshot baits with the coffee scent built into the worm. This is probably the first time I've heard someone swear by strike kings coffee scent bait and probably wouldn't believe him until I had a chance to throw the baits myself. Especially with the report of how big the fish he was catching and how small some of the fish have been for us (largest was maybe 2.5 lbs the last 2 weeks). Then I saw some pics posted on the Facebook group by another angler holding (3) 3lb+ bass from Bartlett yesterday that was fishing the same area as us and I'm thinking I'll give them a try next outing. Doesn't hurt I suppose to give them a try as maybe that's the key to some bigger bites for us.

From what I can tell the bait he was throwing was a fairly good bluegill imitation bait and the roboworm we were throwing was more of a shad color bait. As for boat traffic it didn't seem to bad in the morning on Bartlett especially around the middle to south part of the lake. From what I heard Saguaro has been a zoo lately and the Rangers shut down the boat launch around 10:45am on Sag saying there was close to a 3 hr wait to launch a boat.

Tell you what the size of fish are no where near what you're seeing at Saguaro but at least the lake traffic is much more manageable. If we can get the bigger fish to go at Bartlett I'll be happy fishing a less pressured lake than dealing with the circus on Saguaro until the weather is warm enough for night fishing comfortably.

As for Bartlett conditions water temps in the am 60 degree 63 when we got off the lake at 1PM. Didn't see any fish on beds yet. Bartlett must spawn later than the Salt River chain of lakes. Threw dropshot, senko, shakey head, jigs, spoons and crankbait but only seemed to be able to catch them on dropshot.
