Re: What's your favorite thing about the Delta?

LOL I only fish the Delta 4 weeks out of the year and usually on weekdays, so there aren't many boats, skiers, etc. on the water.

Re: What's your favorite thing about the Delta?

Having fished all the small lakes in So. California, I love the Delta because it's not all rocks! Don't get me wrong, I love rocks but I get tired of fishing rocks. On the Delta I love the variety of the cover available, love the nature, and wildlife, love that there are sunken boats and duck blinds...

Re: Mike Long admits deceit behind bass record?

A dumb mistake by a younger Mike Long, but it doesn't take away from his overall fishing credibility for me. If anything, it shows he's man enough to admit to it, and take responsibility for his actions. Not only did he lie about his big bass catches (snagging them) and lake records but he also che...

Go to the Motor Mate website and check to see which one fits your motor before ordering. If you are unsure, give them a call and they will help you. Motor Mate works great on my 2007 Mercury 175hp Pro XS.

Just to add to my previous post....One problem I've had with insurance brokers is that they are very difficult to get on the phone if you have a question. Re: Boat Insurance

Ben Green saved me money and got me better coverage on my boat and tackle. I had 1-800 Bass Boats for a couple of years, but I wanted to get a few quotes as my expiration date got closer. I talked to a friend of mine who was paying WAY too much for his insurance. He was happy with his insurance comp...

I don't care for the rod racks. It's harder to get the rods in and out because of the tubes, and you can't carry as many rods as you could if you didn't have the rod racks in the locker. I like to use hard boxes for everything except spinnerbaits, and soft plastics. For those I use "wallets&quo...

Repowered with a Mercury 175hp Pro XS. Purchased it from a dealer in Texas. Only had 83 hours on it. I had it shipped directly to Lakeside Boats in Castaic, CA. Perfect transaction, no problems what so ever.

Here's another thought. You can take the course on the CA Boating and Waterways website. The best advice I can give you through my own experince with buying a used boat is to make very sure you get a mechanic to thoroughly check the motor. I got caught up in the asthetics of the boat and didn't do any research on the motor and ended up putting 3k into keeping it going. I finally ended u...

I would think that the bigger the boat, the more pounding it can take from the chop because you can put a more powerful motor on the back to help you to navigate the waves, but then again I'm no expert.

Fished it on Saturday, May 28th. Stayed near or along the dam to the left of the launch ramp. I caught 2 that went 3# 7oz each, and 1 that went 2# 7oz. All on drop shot. Could not get them to chase any reaction baits. Got off the water at 12:30. It was a beautiful day, a little breezy with light fog...

Don't be surprised when you get a Unsecured Property Tax bill from your County Tax Assessor's Office for the boat. This is a yearly tax that some call, "Luxury Tax". Bass boat insurance can be purchased from a number of insurance companies, but I found that 1-800 BASS BOAT was the best cov...
