Report: Just spent 4 days and did real well. The ish we patterned were post spawn & were between the docks in the tules just outside the spawning areas. We caught a 7.5, 6.5, a ew 5'sand a bunch o 4- 3.5s. The bass were not very aggressive until night time, we dumped a ew 10+ ish at night. The top water was rustrating because we would see 5 & 6# ish swim up behind and just check out the lure, and then go away. Mainly stayed down south or the deeper water. We did see a bunch o males gaurding nests, and even a ew bed ish, but I don't ish or them. The lures we used were baby brush hogs, and june bug worms, the topwater ish that we did catch came on Ricos. Watch or your line to move more than the thump that you usually get up there, even the night ish hit like bluegills. We did some rock pile ishing which did not produce to well or us and that was when we moved into the tules and ound our pattern.

By 8am I switched to some top water poppers and got a number o hits and hooked a large mouth...got it too the boat but the hook was not set so he came o...no loss.By 10am the ishing had slowed down...yet the ish kept coming to the surace.Good day o ishing and no problems.

Report: Went out with CAST for kids event. Only fished for an hour and a half in the late morning, but managed three largemouth - largest about 4 pounds. Ripped a dink and splitshotted the other two on 6# brown/green worm. Seemed like there was a strong bite going and I would like to have been able to fish longer. Fished the deep water dropoffs at the northeast end of the lake. Fish came in 20' of water.
      City: Fair Oaks

Tips: Fish are already into summer patterns...shallow reaction baits early on flats near deep water then find the nearest dropoffs next to the big flats and fish plastics or jigs slow on the bottom.

Report: Fished most o the day or Bass. Only caught two (both under 2lbs) but watched many swim by the boat. Saw a couple hawgs that had absolutely no respect or me or my tackle box at all. Caught one on a yellow and blue blade (aternoon) other on a blue 4" grub (morning). My son had un with the bluegill.
      City: Pleasant Hill

Tips: Try redworms or the bluegill, the bluegill are very small and don't seem to know what to do with a bit o' crawler.

My friend was just having one of those days of not catching fish. I was using a 6 inch red/green worm which produced some fish. I lost a 4 or 5 pounder at the boat, oh man if that doesnt break your spirit hehe. Oh well next time!!

Report: Once again, the wind got the best of us. Taylor and Dutch Slough a very hot commodity. Black Bass hanging tight, close to bank, and in the middle of tules. Presentation is the main ingredients here. Where crankbaits did fair Red or Orange seem to be the color of chioce. But it was once again, hands down, no questions asked, the star of the show, Pig'n Jig. Combination of Black/Brown, 3/8s with a #11 Uncle Josh Pork Frog, and diner is seved. Caught about (30)in a five hour period. We were Flippin and a pitching. I strongly recommend at least a 20lb test.
      City: Antioch

Tips: Can't tell you where my exact fishing-holes are, but have aleast a couple of jigs in brown, black, dark blue. Don't forget the Pork Rind. You need the higher pound test line for snags that pop up now and then. "Good Luck"

Report: My younger brother and I made it down late on Sunday and set up catish lines at the campground, no cats but woke up to a 15+ carp. The wind didn't lay down all night. Did some bank ishing at a prime area in the morning, I landed two around 2lbs and my brother hooked into his irst big ish. The 7+ put up a tremendous ight and threw the jig on the third completly airborne jump. Didn't ish much in the aternoon as we had booked a trip with Larry Hemphill. Our Dad met us down there and the three o us started ishing with Larry around 7 pm. It was a little diicult ishing our people but we started catching ish right away all bucks 1.5- 2lbs. In the evening I got the irst decent ish 4.5 on a 8" worm. Then Larry and I both lost 3lbers.Once it got dark the wind died and everything was extremely quiet we managed a 5 and two more around 3 and some bucks. It was a very un and pleasant night we landed 15 ish, but the big ish were just not that active. We had quite a ew short bites and the bites were very sot. We got back to camp around 4 and i wasn't ready or bed so I went drove down to the same bank area and just as it was getting light enough to see some big ish became active. I caught a 4.6, 6.7, and a 8.1 in less then hal an hour! I had one other bite and then it shut o a little beore the sun poked over the hill. We stayed another day and got some a ew more ish rom the same area up to 5lbs in the evening and irst thing in the morning.
      City: Arcata

Tips: This week the ish were really active at irst and last light but the big ish bite shut o with sun on the water. The water is extremely clear and ishing was tough during the day. Slow crawled brush hogs and jigs worked well or us. Bring sun screen, mosquito repellent and lots o water. Good Luck!

Report: Got to get out on Father's Day. Didn't get out until 2:30. Launched at Ladd's. There were a LOT of boats out. This ended up mostly being an exploring trip. Drove down the San Joaquin, by Tiki Lagoon, and around McDonald Island. Saw a few spots that looked nice, but got no fish. Did fish on weed choked slough. Slightly overcast with a slight breeze. Used a white buzzbait with a white trailer. Caught something like eight in the span of 1/2 an hour. That was fun. In the other areas we tried worms, spinner baits, and craw speed traps without success.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: I was lead to believe that buzzbaits don't work until it warms up some. Today showed me it's warm enough to start throwing buzzbaits
