    Water Temp: 53-54?

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went out for a couple hours with my little brother today. He ended up catching one about 2 1/2 drop-shotting a gray robo worm. Missed a few others about the same size. There were a lot of cruisers today, but they were pretty easy to spook and weren't feeding that aggressively.

Tips: Water is as clear as I've ever seen it, seems like finesse fishing is the way to go.

Report: Fished for 3 hours and got 2 big bites. One bass 7.5 lbs and one went 6.2 lbs throwing a Hud and a Rago tool. One big blow up on a Punker, but I think it was a large Striper. Judging by the swirl and the way the fish pushed the big punker out of the water, this was a large fish...no lie. People that know me, know that I have landed many Stripers up to 29 lbs from Loma. This is gonna be the year I land one over 30. Tight lines and good fishing to all the regulars. Please practice catch and release.

Report: Hey T and Ky haven't seen you guys in awhile!! Seems like finally the big gals are starting to hit again, hit two last week one about 11 the other about 13 (no scale or camera LOL). Water is all the way up and they are pretty shallow by the tule's. I'd mention the spots but that would be silly since I did do the C & R thing!! I 'm using what I always use and they sucked it up really gently, after one "lift" all I saw was the line move!! I didn't hit anything else smaller, so I am wondering where all those smaller guys went?? Other than that the cats have been supplying the rest of the action. Hope to see you guys someday soon!!

Report: Hey "D"...Hate to admit it but I have lost a little bit of interest lately as I have become increasingly frustrated with the people taking the big bass home. I love this lake and have caught many giants. It's in my backyard and am planning a trip soon. I will be switching things up a bit as I am getting back to my roots of fly fishing and will be targeting the gig gals with my new Lommis 9 weight. See you on the water.

Report: I thought this site was about fishing. All I'm reading is about hating each other. No true Anglers here. Just bunch of little kids fighting over what this guy did or what they said about someone else. This is the worst site ever. Let's grow up guys and just have fun fishing.

Tips: Be open to "out of the box" ideas. Sometimes they produce fat spawners.

Report: Ok...I am bored. I agree these people that keep big, spawning females are morons that just want to brag to their buddies. Anyway, I no longer post when I catch BIG bass...not worth it. I fished in the pouring rain and managed 2 very good fish right on the bank. Got them on a go to bait of mine that usually produces. Let's all just fish and try to persuade these baby killers to release their catches as they happen.

Report: Huh, kinda thought you'd be callin me a coward for not showing up by now??? Maybe you realized how retarded it is trying to call someone out on a public forum...... especially with your stance or maybe you realized just how lucky you are to still be able to fish this resource with which you still feel the right to pillage. Anyhow, I'm glad we live in a free country where you can do something totally contrary to being a westernbass member and I can continue to call you out and make you look like idiot. hope you got skunked today.... or someone took the fish outta your hands and released it.

Tips: Don't post on this forum if you think its OK to keep double digit fish for any reason.

Report: Reading all this stuff makes me not even want to try out CL. I have a buddy that goes there and he always manages to catch a few fish. He's C&R only, but listen guys, There will always be people that take fish to eat regardless of what lake you fish. Let them get mercury poisoning! They won't be fishing for long! You don't have to resort to violence, fishing is supposed to be relaxing!

Report: Do yourself a favor Mike, put a post on the forum asking how many people would condone taking a double digit fish out of a lake as small as Contra Loma. Especially with the fact that the reproduction mounts can be just as nice and about the same price. Not sure you'll find many people on your side. But who know's you might prove us wrong.

Report: Why don't you just answer the question you buster? How old are you? Do you think your going to scare all the locals from callin you out? what was said that was rascist? That is all I asked. But trust me< you obviously think you cna't be touched but I will warn you.... Don't get to big for your britches. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get all the dedicated TRUE bass fisherman who, might mutter under thier breath about a small bass being taken; will definetly raise hell about double digit fish being taken, especially around the spawn. So if your response was an answer to the question that you are indeed the aforemention MITCH then you might want to just let this go and lay low for awhile. I'm not some teenager you want to call out, I'm the type that I go into situations knowing that I'm not going to loose, I'm too old for that cowboy shit. So if you are lucky enough to see me you might not feel quite that way. For instance.... how hard do you think it would honestly be to bring out all the regular posters on the lake and other local lake in a show of support for what we stand for.... and not even in a violent fashion. Because that aint what this is about, it's about disgust in our own brother fisherman who doesn't know when to release a trophy breeder and when to want THEIR OWN PERSONAL TROPHY, pictures are just as good. Can't wait for your reply. S.K.

Report: So are you sayin they got your name wrong and it's Mike not Mitch? That'd be nice so nobody confuses my buddy with you. I'm white and i got no prob with anyone sayin that about someone keeping a double digit fish. If not I'd like to know what your refering to, since all I saw was a white trash comment.

Report: The guy who caught it is in a basstracker with a older chevy truck. You seen him, I always see him attempting to fly fish. Its not the guy, which does release his bass, that drives the big lifted suburban. This is a great way to start a new year for Loma! People just don't give a f, but whatever, what can you do. That fish is already poop in the toilet now. It really sucks for us people that spend hours and lots of money to try and catch these big girls. Bummer..

Heres the pic if you didnt already see the dead fish :(
