Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the Lakes for about 3 hours yesterday. There have been some changes since my last time out there last year. I fished the Impoundment for about 30 minutes, entirely on the left side of the bank. Two Carp fisherman with 2 rods each took up the rest of the bank. I threw soft plastics YUM Craw Bug, a purple plastic worm. Nothing. Moved to the pier on the other side of the bridge for another 30 minutes. Hey! Guess what? Another Carp guy at the pier! I also saw a fisherman in a small rubber dinghy in the tules with a long rod/ bobber outfit fishing for carp.I worked the tules with a black and blue jig YUM wooly hawg trailer. Not a bite. The bank on the South Lake bridge side is being restored, so I didn't fish there. Moved to the docks/pier on the other side of the South Lake by the old restaurant. Tossed a spinner bait into the wind along the tules and on the pier. Nothing biting. I moved across the road to the North Lake. I rigged up a split shot and rainbow trout colored Baby Sluggo. Tossed it along some tules and nailed a small 14 inch bass. An interesting sunny day at Lake Merced. Smoked 2 Nicaraguan cigars and caught 1 large mouth bass. Not too bad. Maybe I should get some doughballs and fish for carp? Just kidding!

Report: Been out a couple of days this week (Wed and Sat). Fished the usual spots for early spring. The water is still a bit cold, but did happen to see a fish caught on Wednesday. Ran into a couple of young fellers (Ramy and friends) who have been fishing the lake for the last few weeks.
I've been throwing a splitshot 4" Pumpkin Green YUM Wooly Hawg on my spinning outfit with some success (one small bass on Saturday).
Give it another week or two - I've got a feeling it'll be a pretty good year.
City: Daly CityTips: Go slow - try every pocket and point. Move to different spots, if you have the time.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This lake is in bad need of a report. Finally back to fishing after 3yrs+. Responsibilities. Well, those responsibilties made me relize, I need to go fishing bad. Spent the last month+, re-rigging myself with all new tackle, gear and boat. So you know, my anticipation level is off the charts. I have big plans to hit every waterway in the Bay Area. I wound up at Lake Merced because Easter (and responsibilties) snuck up on me. It's im my back yard so I sqeezed it in.-------TO THE REPORT! Because of limited time, it turned into a pre- fishing trip. I was looking for bass throwing spinner baits and senkos. I was probably fishing too fast. I actually gave up and just went checking spots. Fish were marking where you think they would be. Well...my next report will be strictly about fish.
City: Daly CityTips: Never stop fishing. Connecting with Earth is a responsibilty.---Throw 'em back!
