Water Temp: 45-52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the South end of the lake, Magic Worms, Crank Bait, Drop Shots, Spinners, nightcrawlers, anchovies again just about everything in the old tackle box again. Fished the west side of the lake opposite of the county launch in Clearlake with no success. But the weather was nice and it was good to see some other people out enjoying the day, fished in 30-38 feet of water with the fish showing around 12-18 feet depth again no fish caught. I will attempt again tomorrow! Weather looks good for awhile! Get out and toss a line in! See you out in the lake! Fonzie

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 45-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Clear night that began somewhat warm, went from Clearlake all the way out to Rattlesnake Island. Plenty of fish on the fishfinder just none in the boat. Dropped down pretty cold by 430am. Tried everything in the tackle box, plus some anchovies and nightcrawlers for some Catfish but no luck. Wind came and went but was not that bad. If anyone knows where the fish are hiding or what seems to be working any tips would be helpful. Have fun fishing! Fonzie
City: ClearlakeTips: I could use some good winter fishing tips! All and any or greatly appreciated!

Tenmile Lake

Water Temp: who cares
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Took a drive by Cottage Grove Lake today to see how full it's getting. It was actually fuller than I thought it would be but pretty mudded up. I found a way to keep my fishing mind going through this 3 month off season. I'm planning out a trip for some time in June/July. Gonna go out and fish for 24 hours straight. I'm sure lots of guys have done it before but I never have. It's been fun trying to figure out how to pack just enough stuff without cluttering up the boat. Trying to figure out when to start the day has been fun too. I'm gonna try to let the moon help out with the lighting if at all possible. It should be fun and once I catch up on my sleep I'll be sure to post a huge report about the trip right here.
City: yoncalla, orTips: If the weather continues (Semi steady rain) I'm thinking I may have to start tossing a jig about Feb. 20th or so. I never see anyone else bass fishing that early usually but the fish are almost always egg laden fatties! Dress up warm and give it a shot!

Report: 2 very rough days of fishing. Rented a boat 2 consecutive days for a total of 18 hours and caught 3 fish but all trout. Talked to one other bass angler who also didn't have any bites. I've only caught 2 bass in this lake in about 10 trips. This was my last.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 52-56
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: It was a beautiful winter day to have the fourth Berryessa Pro Team Tournament, also a tough tournament for most teams. Thanks to the 21 teams for coming to Markley Cove January 16, 2011; a great turnout with some big fish coming to the scales. Like the third tournament, there was a little fog, but safe to navigate in on pad. Again we had beautiful weather, a little foggy to start, and a warm afternoon for the weigh-in. The nice weather made the bite tough for most teams; a lot of teams had 6-8 bites all day! Even the top finishing teams had few bites, but they were the right bites! Fish were caught with reaction baits, jigs, and worms; with the points in the main body being the most productive. Teams reported fish being caught in 5-25 feet of water. I want to thank our sponsors: Centennial Batteries, Guns Fishing & Stuff, Alan Fong, Dobyns Rods, Tomat
Tips: Main lake points, 2-60, look for the bait

McClure Lake

Water Temp: 53-55
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished NorCal team and it was a tough one for us with five bites, put four in the live well for about 8.5 pounds with the two biggest being about 2.5 each. We fised slow but maybe not deep enough for long enough. All bites came in 10-20 feet but I am thinking we should have been in
50-60 feet. Caught all fish on 6" Robo worms on dart head. Could not get bit on the jig.
City: HilmarTips: Slower and deeper!

Clear Lake
-
Water Temp: 71
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: The bite was slow with 3 bass 3.5 - 4.9 all on jigs and one 8-9 lbs catfish on a jig.
What was disapointing was how nasty the keys were. I'm not talking about alge bloom, I'm talking about the floating oil. The smell was so bad I almost vomited. I think EPA needs to do a little investigating on the pollution within the keys. Yuck!

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 52
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Markley Cove around 7:30 am temp was about 30 degrees. Started fishing in Haines Cove and caught a 2.5 lb within the first 45 minutes, had three other bites but lost them, for some reason just couldn't keep them hooked. Fished the narrows without any bites then moved to Skiers canyon and caught a nice fish on the flat right at the entrance but he snapped my off at the boat, if I had to guess maybe a 3.5 lb. Moved to the ranch house and fished the flats and caught two small fish, then moved to Pope Canyon and fished at the bridge with no luck, moved out to School House Isl. and caught one small one. All in all tough day bites were scattered like the fish and I seemed to lose more than I caught, not sure why I couldn't keep them hooked? My fishing partner caught two small fish one on a square bill crankbait in about 10 feet of water and the other on a texas rigged magic worm (morning dawn). Talked with a couple of boats who all said bite was tough and between the 3 other boats they had four fish, guess we got lucky. To fishing45, again thank you for the tips and we probably passed on the lake I was in a Ranger Z520 Black/Silver but I got off the lake around 1:30 pm. Happy New Year to you all and to Fishin45 hope to run into some time on the lake, take care and its nice to see you enjoy fishing with your son and its great you get to spend time together, nothing beats thats!
City: West SacramentoTips: Caught my biggest fish on a sweet beaver (Oxblood) in small laydown, caught two on drop shot and one on a jig. Fish SLOW and methodical I caught most of my fish after about 3 or 4 casts to the same location from different angles. Take your time and really work an area before you move on, patience is a virtue...fish SLOW!

Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: well my fishing buddy and my 10yr old son, and i hit the water yesterday around 8 to find stained water and quite a chill in the air.
to my surprise we were one of about 15 other boats launching at capell, glad to see that there are lots of other crazy fisherman out there....:)
we fished all over the lake today. we started in the old spanish flat area and picked up a couple fish right away, and from there on out it was work.
we ended the day with 5 in the boat (1) jig fish (2) rip bait fish and the others on a drop shot.
we had several lost fish today, 2 lost on the ripbait and 1 that broke my son off at the boat (easy 4+ spot).
after the first 2 of the morning the day was slow till the wind came up, after the wind started blowing we found the fish on top of submurged island tops as shallow as 5 to 6 feet and they were interested in the ripbait mostly . we did get a dropshot fish off the tops as well but for some reason i lost several with the rip bait on jumps from the fish. booooooo on my part.
also my 10 yr old son didnt complain once about the hi of 40 degrees yesterday, boy did that make me proud he also didnt want to leave after that big fish he lost. it is very satisfying when your kid looks at you with frozen snot on his face, red cheeks and begs not to leave and wanting to know when we can come back to catch steve ( dont ask me why but he likes to name his fish he catches)the one that got away. sorry we missed you bass man, hope you did well, keep your eyes peeled for me im in a maroon, red, and black r71 ranger, so say hi if you see me around.
City: san lorenzoTips: keep your head up this time of year the fish are not jumping in the boat, and patience will give you a better chance of a limit. green pumpkin robo worms claimed the most fish, but the ripbait with long pauses had the bigger fish biting. hi spots and long points seemed to be the only bites and the river looked like the contents of my coffee cup.
good luck all and have a great 2011 -
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: I have only fished this lake once some 6 years ago; li am ooking to go out this Friday and was wondering if anyone had any tips on locations and what baits seem to be working this time of year?
Thank you in advance for any advice...Have a Happy New Year!!!

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 48
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched at New Hope - Fast running chocolate water, at least we didn't run into too many floating trees! Ran past Hog, Beaver, Sycamore sloughs looking for less chocolate...no hits, even in stained. Used everything in the arsenal. Guess I'll clean out and detail the boat.
City: FolsomTips: Wait a couple weeks unless you know exactly where to go for clearer water...we don't. May try Folsom Lake for some dropshotting since it's our backyard. But prefer the Delta.

Camp Far West Lake
-
Water Temp: 48-50
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 7-3 caught 10 fish 9 on deep diving crank baits and 1 on a spinner bait. Fish were up shallow in the morning and backed off into about 15'-20' in the afternoon. We caught all of our fish in one spot. Best 5 fish went 16-17 lbs. Big fish was a 4 lb large mouth caught by my partner.
City: LincolnTips: bang the bottom and fish slow.

Eastman Lake
-
Water Temp: 52.9 to 54.6
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: The second ramp on the east side or back side of the lake is now closed as water is up on half of the parking lot so the east main ramp is holding the dock now. Bass fishing is still good on bass to 3 1/2 pounds most bass are hold in 15 to 40 feet of water and are still hitting jigs.I added a color as the water is getting more stain to it so i went to Green pumpkin black, green crystal/blue,black flake and a 5" single tail yamamoto grub in chartreuse w/black flake (156 ) as my trailer. Most bass were holding on or around rock piles. water temp was 54.6
City: maderaTips: fish slow bass are hold to more structure now as the water comes up new structure is back in the water and there are some nice rock piles that are now in 18 to 30 feet of water and more trees and brush piles are also in deeper water.

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 49-50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Brown's revine at 09:00 hours. Temperature at 36 degrees with a light breeze out of the SW. 3 rigs in the parking lot as I was launching and 2 others arrived as I was pulling away from dock. Water Temp at 49.7 degrees to start with and warmed to 50degrees by 2pm. I fished only the South as I am trying to disect this side. I haven't fished the South much over the last year and a half. I had 3 bites all on a green pumpkin jig. I threw tube, dropshot and dart head as well. I caught a 4lb 10oz and a 3lb 4oz from one area and I am sure there were more fish there. I also caught a 2lber. All spotted bass that looked like footballs. They are eating real good and that is great news. Bait was scattered today. I found some bait in 20 feet as well as 50 feet. All bites came in about 15 feet of water away from the bait. What a beautiful day to be on the water. I needed to get the boat out and test it since I just got it back from the shop. I was told that water reclaimation dept will not let lake water level drop below 404. We will see. Get out there and fish...Happy New Years everyone. There were about 6 other rigs in the parking lot when I left.
City: EDHTips: One other guy that I spoke with also caught a 4 plus pound spot as well. He had two bites all day. So bites are few and in between but good quality fish. I hope this information is helpful. I notice that not many other fishermen are willing to share their information. I don't know why.

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: launched at G.B. around 11. fished up north for a couple dropshotting. cold and slow. then when pulling off ramp to go tie up to my suprise, here comes the california kid Skeet Reese. what a nice guy. i got him to sign my folsom pass and even talked to him a little. he said he was not there to fish but to shoot for berkely. so an all right day turned in to a great one.

McClure Lake
-
Water Temp: 54-57
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Been out five times in the past two weeks with today being the slowest of all the days. With that said still caught twenty+ fish today between myself and my old man. All spots, with the biggest just over four lbs. Most fish came dartheading in 10-30ft, some jig fish, but fewer than the previous trips. Also caught two swimbait fish, which has been about the same every trip (the big spot caught on my first cast with the big bait today).
City: TurlockTips: The darthead has been pretty consistent with fish in the two plus pound range. However the majority of the big fish have come on the jig and swimbait. Fish have consistently been in the 30ft range, but it seems like they have been moving up as shallow as 5ft at some point in the day (even today after the cold front moved through lastnight). Good luck, Mcclure has been hot for me and producing a bigger avg fish than I can remember!!
