Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out of Winpy's Thursday. Went South and fished bends and pockets. Finally went into hog looking for monsters. I threw all top water all afternoon and had several swirls and hits. Only one stick though and it felt pretty good but took me to the weeds and escaped. We fished to the back and had 0 hook ups on stripers. Finally at dusk, we were running out and saw the fish coming to the surface. I threw a vixen and a pencil popper. Both produced largemouth. When it was just about dark, I hooked up on a legit 10 pound striper. Landed him on bass gear. That was the evening. 5 fish.

Tips: I caught nothing Weds and Thurs got better. Hopefully it's about to be on. Top water for stripers and look for moving water in the afternoon. Good luck

Report: Alex, don't give up. Talked to several very good fishermen that have been fishing Don Pedro for a long time and it was a TOUGH bite yesterday. Post front conditions w/ blue skies make for tough fishing conditions at Pedro. At least you got to go fishing.

      Water Temp: 63

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: very clear water >12ft. wind 5-8 NNW. I fished from 6 am to 10 am. Limited myself to the graveyard area and flemming bay areas. I did so badly I considered dropping my gear off at play it again sports. I tried a known sucessful spinnerbait, a few crankbaits, drop shotted and despite my inexperience I Jigg'd with a 3/4 oz brown craw jig, before I gave up.... Arghhh! When does Play it again sports again close?

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Launched at Red bud at about 6:30AM drizzling and wind abaout 8mph out of the North and hit all my favorite spots for zip. My first ever zero at CL. Saw fish jumping early down in the lower end and threw buzzbaits, poppers, spooks, rattle traps, blades and even ripped. Had 1in. silversides stck to my trebles on every cast. Fished Jago and other rock walls and points east & west side fo Konocti Resort for nothing using drop shot and jig and r-trap and blade. Fished the docks around windmill for zip. Went down into rattlesnake and spent time on spots I know on both sides fishing mostly 10-28ft for nothing. Had a 3lber chase my rip bait as I was pulling it out of the water right at the boat. Got a few tic tic bites on the DS but nothing stuck. Went into Henderson/Horshoe and ripped and cranked and threw blades for nothing. Last stop at Baylis and couldn't do anything there. Maybe the storm the day before shut everything down but SHEESH it was tough. Wind never stopped but also never got over about 15. Off the water at 4pm. You haven't seen many posts lately and now you know why.

      Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Charlie and I launched out of Big Break Marina at 7:30 am. We were in between fronts, and the weather would change back and forth from dark to clear skies. As we exited the harbor and made our way out into the main channel, I could see that the tide had just peaked and was just starting to push back out toward the San Francisco Bay. I made a short drive over to the north side of the Antioch Bridge. On my fish finder I could see stripers at 12 feet all over the bottom, but they would not touch anything we had to offer. Next we fished the south east side of Big Break. There was an opening where water was coming in from Dutch Slough. Fishing scattered weed beds we caught a few stripers and a largemouth, all smaller fish in the two pound range. While traveling in Dutch Slough towards Franks Tract, we fished a couple nice weed flats. Seeing a few larger fish bust on bait, we would fire out our top water lures, hoping it would land right on the stripers head. Charlie got smashed by one in the 10 pound range, but it came unbuttoned pretty quick. Later we made out way through Sand Mound Slough and into Franks Tract. Using Berkley hollow bodied swimbaits, we picked up a few more schoolie sized stripers, just as the tide started to make its way back in. Charlie then ties on a Mission Fish swimbait and catches two nice largemouth bass, 5.2 and 4.0 pounds. By this time it is getting dark, so we make out way back to Big Break Marina.

      Water Temp: 62

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Another day of mediocrity. Fished against my buddy again. Launched out of B&W. The day started out good nailed a two pounder on a spinner bait followed by a one pounder on a Senko. It was all down hill after that. I caught 7 dinks on an assortment of baits, spinner bait, drop-shot, and Senko. Fished mostly the Mc River and Sycamore Slough. I also hit potato Slough and the mouth of Franks Tract. Talked to other fishermen they all stated that it was a tough bite. Luckily my buddy was equally inept. We both ended up tying with 3 pounds a piece. I hate ties!!
      City: W.Sac

Tips: ???? I think the quick change in temp slowed the bite. Hey that's a good excuse!!??? I saw some guys rippin the main channel? They only had a few fish but they had size. Next week Berryessa. Hopefully the lake has turned over by then. I'll be calling my good friend Al over at Fisherman's Werehouse for tips.

Report: Hey Diehard- the Vixen is more like a spook than a pop-r. It really let loose raining up here. Just when daylight savings time gives me my pre work daylight back- Mother Nature decides it's time to start filling up the lakes again. Oh yeah- another lure I like a lot as far as a chugger or pop-r type is a Chug Bug made by Storm lure company. Actually caught a few nice bass out of Sonoma on one and even caught a really mad spawning bluegill about 10" long one spring. Almost busted the lure in half on the strike! Enjoy that California weather- I miss bass fishing on Thanksgiving morning!

      Water Temp: 64

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Sporadic day. But then again, that is fall fishing sometimes. Fish are in all sorts of modes this time of year. It's kind of like what happens in early spring. Started the first half hour of the day on a great top water bite. Nailed a 6'10 on a custom wake bait and hit several more good fish on it as well a some on the spook. Then it shut down for a while. However, this is the delta and tides control the delta world. Picked up a fish here and there until the tide dropped in the afternoon. That's when we found the striper and a black bass that went 6 even. Best 5 went 18 1/2.

Tips: No big secret, but for those who are new to the delta.. flats are pretty good right now. Bass and striper love chasing food on the flats. Cuts good as well. The tule bite was slow. All middle delta. Stayed within 5 miles of B&W.

Guys, a favor to ask. Stop the bickering. I along with other delta vets go away from this site at times because we want to post helpful reports and read helpful reports. Nobody wants to read about who is a sissy or a mamas boy. Keep it to fishing please. BTW, does anyone know what tourney that was out of Russos Sat? Thanks

      Water Temp: Don't know

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Well, with this rain, twice as much water is going into the lake as the amout they are releasing. If we don;t capture every drop we can this lake will never come close to filling and we can't rely on getting more water after the first of the year. I can't see where any farmer, the delta or anyone else down stream would need water right now. Leave the outflow alone.
