Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished minnows with my 7 yr old nephew today, yes he outfished me....We caught 11 minnow fish and 3 brush hog fish in 5 hrs. My first fish of the day was a 6 pounder split shotting a jumbo minnow. Morning bite was better split shotting, around noon the bobber started working.

Tips: Fish were in scattered from 7 ft to 18 ft today. Never found any big schools.

      Water Temp: About 45 degree

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished the far north end from 2pm until 5pm. Cloudy and calm all afternoon. Slow-rolled spinnerbaits and rat-l-traps around the tules. Didn't get a single bite. Even the birds weren't feeding. I should probably be using jumbo minnows, but I can't bring myself to kill a fish (the minnow) for the sake of catch and release.
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: Don't bother fishing the far north end. I suspect most of the bass are still toward the south end in deep water.

      Water Temp: 48.4-50.2

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Got in at Sugarloaf at 0745, air temp a nasty 28 degrees but no wind, lake down to 80.36 ft and first boat in, dropped the trolling motor and moved up towards Tsasdi trying top water and rip baits with no takers, find some fish across from Tsasdi and get one on a 1/2 oz with a #66 hdi in 35 ft. Go back in again and get stuck and bust off. Sitting on top of a bunch of decent fish so I picked up the other rod with a 1/2 oz and a #22 and back in I go and get bit right off the bat. Fish this same bait the rest of the day for a total of 9 more but not much size, the best went 1.75 but managed 3 more out of the same spot in the am. Things went flat for me after I ran down below the gooseneck and I missed a few but none in the boat until 1130 when I caught five more on and around a submerged rock pile, another guy was working another rockpile just 50 yards away and got a few small ones also. Started warming up a bit around 1230 and i stuck it out till 130pm and called it quits. Best five only went 8.12. Another typical day for me, and a typical cold water bite, all pulldowns or rubber band bites.
      City: Redding

Tips: I may not have the number of that MGM HDI right but it is brown with gold flake #22?

      Water Temp: 52.7-53.6

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Berryessa with a buddy from my Bass Club (Devil Mountain Bassmasters of Walnut Creek) after a few days of stable clear weather. Managed to find fish right away. The were stacked up at the bottom of a drop and hanging around a couple of submerged bushes. We put about 8-9 fish in the boat with only 2 dinks. The rest were healthy and very strong spots. Decided to look for other places and started hitting small points and the backs of small coves. We picked up several more fish here and there (spots and smallies). They were either on a point in 20-25 feet or in the backs of coves that had deep water close by. Most of our fish came on plastics although we managed to crank a nice fish on a deep diving Poes crankbait. Had 1 hit on a jerkbait but the fish seem lethargic and wanted a slower presentation. Ended the day with over 25 keeper fish, our best 5 was over 10lbs. Great time to be on Berryessa.
      City: Walnut Creek

Tips: Fish wind blown points in deeper water. Throw plastics in brown or purple. Our fish were in 20-25 feet in the morning and seemed to move up a little as the day progressed. Later in the day fish seemed to be in the 15 ft range. Water is stained but not real bad.

Report: Bennit, I don't dispute the fact that there are probably Sturgeon in Clear Lake considering how old the lake is, and that you could have caught one (on much heavyier tackle). What is kind of funny though, is that the hills in the background of the picture are brown, and there's not a cloud to be seen (kinda like SUMMER!). There is a lot of embelishing (bending the truth) that goes on around here and only YOU know if you caught it, so Get Over It!!
      City: Santa Rosa

Tips: P.S. Was that you on the recent Lake Sonoma report about.. Guess What!!??

      Water Temp: 48

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Went out at 4 pm for a very short trip.I was out Christmas eve and accidently kicked my favorite spinning rod overboard, a Loomis GLX spinning rod in 30 feet of water at the peninsula.
The lake has dropped that much, so I went to the spot that was close and beached the boat.I walked in the mud about 100 yards and bingo it was in the sand 2 feet from shore. Best trip this year.
      City: Granite Bay

Tips: The launch at Granite Bay has a sign posted 5 mph for the whole lake, a ranger watched from shore for violators. The lake is very muddy about 3'' of visability. Did not fish

      Water Temp: 55ish

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished 100% sunday. 79 boats and 68 limits. We had 11.14 lbs for 32nd place. 17 places in the 11 lb range. Caught our fish on jigs like about 80% of the fishermen. We were deadsticking them in about 5' of water. Fish were also caught on the drop shot, I hear, but not by us. Course I will fish anything in place of the drop shot. Tried reaction baits but couldn't get bit. T-rig worms also worked for us from the bank out to 45'. Fish the bait super slow with a little pop every 15 sec, or so.
      City: Sonora

      Tips: Fish 100% Teams.
