Cocolalla Lake

Water Temp: warm in the sum
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I fish this lake alot, it has some good bass fishing along most of the west side near the RR tracks fishing the many trees the bushes in the water, and on the S.E. end of the lake in a small cove.
There is a point there that is a great spot, fish the outside edge of the weedbeds in about 15 to 18 feet of water with my Sink-N-Fool baits in a Red Shad or Watermelon red color. Around the point in the cove there is a good brush pile that the beavers made that is hot also. Just cast one of my sinking baits over it and whind it back with a jerk-pause retrieve. Always just let the bait free fall when it first hits the water till it hits bottom as must of the time a fish will have it before it can sink to the bottom, if no hit do the jerk-pause retrieve.

Report: Cold morning, no fog or winds for a nice day on the water. Joe Miller and I went out at safe sun light from Granite Bay. Our first stop was a Island top in the main body, o fish. Drove in the north fork to a rocky point and Joe found a 2 lb smallie with a brown/purple 1/2 oz JK jig.
I switched over to a drop shot with a 3" minnow and found they like it. We got five keepers and headed home at 1:pm.

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First time out this year and boy was I suprised, it was windy. Fished mostly back of coves to escape the gail force winds. Got bit around 11:15am, a nice 4lb fat with eggs. I was using a sinko with a 1 1/2oz football leadhead due to wind. A little later I switched to meth injected gold fish I got from my good friend Brian Thompson of Paso Robles. Man you should see those things take off when you stick a hood in them. In just a few minutes I had 6 nice crappie all in the 2lb range. Thanks Brian. I then went by the damn where I metered fish in 40ft of water. I forgot my tackle box with swim baits so I used a couple small trout I keep in the live well for just such a situation and wham, didn't get bit but I love the group Wham. Finished up the day in front of the launch ramp using a frog colored hand granade and got a couple of nice ones. All and all it was a good day fishing
City: TempletonTips: Heavy anchor and lots of chain, did I mention it was windy. Also check Fish and Game guidelines for hand granades. I told the ranger it was a cigarette lighter.

Report: Carp fishing has been ok. Caught 3 fish over 10 lbs. with pieces of string cheese onb a 3' hook. Caught the first two sight fishing, about 3 feet from shore, last one caught on south end by dam off a shelf.
City: Rancho CucamongaTips: Always experiment with bait. Carp will pretty much eat anything you throw at them, but always remember that carp are very easily spooked.

Roosevelt Lake
-
Water Temp: high 40's
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: lake has come up drastically with the winter storms we have been having. Currently, the lake is raising 1 ft/day, and has done so for the past 2 weeks. This lake is at it's highwater mark, passing a level it has not been at for over 12 years! With current conditions, this lake will be THE best lake in AZ, probably in the western US
in the years to come!
City: Scottsdale, AZTips: Pig & jig in springtime for excellent smallmouth fishing. Jerks, & spinnerbaits in the backs of shallow coves for largemouth. Drift a minnow tipped 16/th oz. crappie jig for fish averaging 2 lbs. or more!

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished local club tourney Sunday. Our "loaner" boat had a inoperable trolling motor and no electronics. we were forced to tie-up to trees in coves and work the area slowly. Caught 3 over 15" in the morning. Moved to see what the rest of the club members were doing. We found them fishing muddy water and very little in their wells. We went back to our tree and clearer water and caught two more for a limit. Used Robo "green weenies" and Berkeley Power Worms "June Bug."
City: Valley SpringsTips: Up in the cove in shallow water where the clear water was entering. Bass were able to see our bait. Stay out of the muddy water.
