Could Be Another Species Common.......

Tulloch, like Melones, Don Pedro and other bodies of water in our region contains squawfish. A non-game species native to riverine waters on the west side of the sierras. These fish can, and do exceed 15 pounds. I, personally, have had squawfish break new 20 pound mono ON THE STRIKE and at the boat....

Jeff and his folks have done wonders to repair and maintain my elderly Ranger over the years. He gets my vote. (multiple glass/finish damage incidents - some my bad, some not!!).

on Mother Lode (not Load) Lakes, the only lake I know of where shoreline living is available is Tulloch. Mother Lode Lakes Have Squawfish...........

and I and my partners have caught 'em in Pedro, Melones and Tulloch. The examples in your Delta fotos look enuff' different to me that I would doubt they are the same species. Any fisheries biologists care to chime in?

Several years ago I posed that question to Oregon Game and Fish. Their response was that bass species could not reproduce in the Klamath Lake waters because of the pH (acid/alkaline) levels.

At Its' Lowest Levels, Melones.....

bags of drop baits were shown at a much higher price than retail tackle stores. Found same baits at Tackle Warehouse (online) for less than half per bag with free shipping for 2nd day delivery. Less than half the cost of Amazon overall. Compare between sources! RK

I've Been Out On Melones 3 Times Last 10.....

Days and have not seen a bed yet, occupied or not. Each time I have been on that water had to go down to find fish, sometimes 30 feet. Normal spring/early summer stuff not reliable now for me. Little to no surface activity either. RK
