    Report: top water was excellent at irst light, but shut down quickly once the sun came over the hill.The rest o the day was very slow. We threw everything rom spinners, rip baits, crank baits, and plastics o verious shapes and sizes, but nothing seemed to work.
    City: Grover beach

    Tips: Early morning and dusk are best. Use top water baits such as Spash-it's with a white belly seem to work best. Crawdad cranks are a good choice or the walls later in the day.

    Report: I started out about 7am hoping to ind some good spawning ish. I guess they were eected by that weather we just had because there was nothing. I decided at about 9am to ish a little deeper 10' seemed to be the trick caught two good ish in vasquez arm a 7 and a 5 pounder. I caught both on a 6" blue& black zipper worm texas rigged. The bite seemed to die o about aternoon and then It got windy.

    Tips: I think i the weather stays warm the big ish will start to get on the beds real soon. I seem to be really succesul with zipper worms & big bs worms lipped on beds in junebug or chartruese / white spinnerbaits. good luck!

    Report: Went up to Lopez or the week, but only got in one day due to the high winds. Managed 18 bass on blue and chartruse crankbaits in 6 to 8 oot o water. Five largest weighted 21-11, the largest was 5-6. I didn't notice any ish on the beds, but they have to be going soon. Probably this next week, 3/24/02. Wish I could be there but have a trip planned to Lake Alamo in AZ.

    Report: CAUGHT A 5-6 pound BASS just o the ramp. I used some worms i bought rom the bait shop. I used some jigs and caught 2 bluegill and 1 crappie. I you want you can stay on shore because nothing seems to be popping up deep.

    Tips: Use a green jig in shallow or some nice ish and red crank in deep or dome nice ish.

    Report: Back to Lopez and I ound the Bass are still very deep but tighter to the clis.Caught 1 near the dam in 65 eet o water but most success near steep clis.Got one crappie spot out in the middle o the lake on an underwater hump. E-mail me and I will try to tell how to ind it.

    Tips: Castmasters jigged vertically and 6inch plastic worms moved slowly are working best or me.

    Report: Got to the lake about ten a.m. Fished o o points about 40 to 50 eet deep. Caught ive keeper large mouth bass. Then I tried a ledge at about 60 eet deep and got in to some nice crappie. Had to work hard on all spots, verticaly jigging small castmasters and small jigs.Let lake at 2 pm.

    Tips: Use your sonar units, when you get over good signals mark the spot with a small buoy and pound it. Move your spoons up and down smoothly. Use very small jigs and almost don't move them at all, just watch your rod tip or a small tick (set the hook with a large sweeping motion) Good luck

    Report: Good ish are still up airly shallow. I managed 7 lm bass the top 5 weighed 9-15. Not bad or December. Lots o olks jigging drop-shot rigs in deep water. I didn't talk to any o them to see how they were doing.My ish came on a shad pattern crankbait on the rock aces.

    Report: Ive Fished Lopez lake latley, Fishing under the bridge (Arroyo Grande arm)and recently moved over to the wittenberg arm. Im 17, so Im orced to ish rom the shore. Ive gotten a ew under the bridge, here and thereI Usually go to lopez with my riends and catch 1-3 decent sizedbass each (2-5lbs.) over a 4 hour period, sometimes not evin catch onemoved to the wittenberg arm the last time I went there, I cough a 1 pounder andmy riend cought 3 1 pounders and my other riend cought nadaIve ished top water popers,rogs,spook Spinner baits, all dierentkinds o colors red,black,red/black,white/chartreus, plus many moreChartreus plus other color seems to catch the biggest. Ive also usedmany crank baits,dierent sizes colors. I never seem to catch too many isheither its a good day catch a ew or not catch any. Ive been only ishing thereor the passed 3 months, a weekend here and there. Any tips to help me catch more ishanyone know o any sweet spots accesable rom shore?

    Report: Fished with my kids and had some success pitching senko's 194J around the brush in the whittenberg arm early in the morning. we come to lopez or the topwater but it was'nt happening so we went a little deeper with the Senko's. There were alot o smaller ish on the Senko's (40+) each morning but our larger ish came dropshotting small Robo FX series Shad colored worms. We would dropshot below the small boiling ish and it was really a ish every cast or a long while... We also had great luck with the Senko's/dropshot and spoons on the boiling bass under the bridge. lots o smaller ish most under 2 Lbs.have un at Lopez, it's a wonderul place...Dave

    Report: Fished the Wittengerg arm pretty thoroughly rom my loat tube rom about 6am until the wind was too strong at about 11am. The water is down a couple o eet and a lot o moss and weeds along the shoreline. Fishing was pretty slow and I only saw one bass being caught, it was on a jerkbait along a steep rock wall. I heard that it was better up on the Lopez arm.

    Report: ished golden empire tourament, took 5th. had a 4.45lb largemouth on topwater in whitenburg arm along with a 3.50lb and 2lb had 10 lbs in 15 minutes early with a skitter pop in the grass. also caught a 2 lb smallie in lopex arm past the 5 mph. buoy. caught dinks all day all over..

    Report: Caught a lot o little dinks back in the Arroyo Grande arm(back under the bridge) on cranks and spinners. Some o these were almost smaller than the lure...I'm supprised that they would even try to eat it! Only caught one decent size and that was on a 4" purple power worm in a cove opposite Cottonwood Cove. Spent most o the time trying to ind pockets away rom the wind which was blowing all day.

    Report: First time on the lake, launched at about 12pm and let about 4pm. The wind was really a battle. We had a great time ishing. We caught one over ive pounds, one just short o 4 pounds and several just over 3 pounds, all largemouths. All but one on jigs and one crankbait ish on a crawdad patterned at ree shad. The ish were all at and healthy. We ished mostly main lake points, I could really learn to love this lake

    Tips: Jigs around rocky points.

The lake was pretty crowded on Saturday with theWON tournament but we were able to take a ew.     Report: Another cold storm ront blew thru. Only managed to catch 1 legal bass and 3 dinks. All on 4" plastic worms. The highlight o my trip though, was my trout ishing riend managed to catch his irst bass. It was also a dink, but it was a bass. That made my day!!!

    Report: Had a good day! Nothing big, but plenty o action. I boated 8 bass and lost two. The biggest was a 2 1/2 pound Smallmouth. The ish were near rocky/mud banks in around 2 to 8 t o water. All the ish I caught was on a 4" plastic worm (my avorite lure). My two year old son also had a great day, he boated 5 redears ranging over 1/2 pound each.Note:When I was ishing in Lopez Arm a large black bear decided to come on down and have a drink. A truly awesome sight!!!

    Report: Cold ront blew in and made it a really cold day. The air temp in the morning was at 34 degrees. I managed to boat three bass using plastic worms around 5 to 10 eet deep. I lost two and had 8 other hits, but was unable to hook them due to a dull hooks.

    Report: A lot o ishing, but no catching.I was hoping on catching some bass in the prespawn stage, but due to the water temp still low, the ish weren't coming out to play. I hit major points and drops o to get only a couple o hits using the Castaic Swimbait (6 inch Rainbow trout colored). Throw spinnerbaits, cranks and crawled plastic's with no luck. Did notice that some balls o shad were suspended at 30 eet and some markings underneath that. But they were not bitting or me.
