Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Another Sunday jaunt to Margi for a bit of luch from last weeks outing. Much better temps this motning at 6:40 launch with 44o amd a nit foggy.
Headed straight for last weeks spot loking for a jig bite. Trolled around the roak walls for maybe 1/2 with no takers so moved off 200 yards farther in the narrows. Move paid off as I boated a nice 4+ gal who gave me a good workout. Kept heading back with no other takers so I headed around the corner and hit the back stickups. Managed a few 1-1/2 pounder dropping a robo in the stickups but nothing of value so moved back towards the walls. Hitthe point in the narrows that makes the big right hander and lipped a solid 3+ on the same jig.
Moved of towards the dam and it was filled with kayaker's tossing flyrod stuff so hit zaca flats. Pulled in nice 3 again and called it enough for the day. Some brisk winds came up but soon diminished to warmer sakies. Elected to call it early today as I think I had a head cold coming. All in all, another good day. Heard ABA winners Jared Lintner and partner were in with 30+ Saturday. Good job Jared!
City: SMTips: Blk/Blu stand-up 1/2oz jig with Trigger X june bug trailer took all my catch today. Tossed a Talon swim in the 5MPH zone towards the dam but no takers today.

Water Temp: 59o -61o
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Cold! 28o when I hit the main gate. Shorts off - Levis on! Headed to the river to check out the situation as there were several trainlers at White Oak but saw no one. Hit passed the first dock entering the narrows and saw several boats mored. Must have had a breakfast or something going on at the campsites. . Back was empty at the stick up's but tossed a few anyway. No takers so headed back towards the dock area and the rock walls. Tossed a jig on the transition areas and popped a heavy! 7+ and the nice guy that was just down from me trolled up and said good catch - shes a heavy. Who ever it was THANKS! Never got his name. Toosed back in the same local up and down the banks and lipped another good 4+ so there were in there and I left them be.
Headed towards the 5mph coming out and hit the sunshine side with a few others in the area. Went to a drop and it hit the water and she hit me. Good solid 3 1/2 male on a Robo in 18feet.
Hit a few more smaller ones and called it a day at noon.
City: SMTips: Big gal was on an old Gilly Jig I got from Gilly just a few months before he passed. Wish I could locate that color combo again. Only a few left now. Black.Brown and purple flake jig with a Trigger june-bug trailer. Drop was on a Robo oxblood light red/flk straight tail 5 in. and a Robo ?? sorry.. some you don't give out.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Thanks for the note Mike.. Much appreciated. Wish Saturday was a day for the 'top' but nada. Tri Valley meet was good as there were 41 boats on hand but we got stiffed as many did. Winners in with a over 30 [i was told as we left early] on 4! .
A really tough day and Jared was on hand for this meet with a sharp lookin TW ride. Anyway, it was a hard bite to say the least. Saw some decent fish and they came in on swims. Like DUH! Never did pull it out as blades were working for many so the thought of tossing a swim never popped into my mind and it should have! They say always toss a swim -- in case --- never know whats good or bad till you try it -- Just like a top! LATEr...

Report: Wow! Bring out the warm stuff! Arrived at 5:50 this morning to a very chilly 29o.. Put on the warm stuff and waited for better light with a 6:20 launch. headed for Zaca flats and tossed a top water --Nothing hit - Moved off to the banks and shot out a crank in several styles and colors - Nothing. Headed to the edge of the bouyed off area by the dam and tossed more -- Nothing. Then about 7:20ish -- FOG! Made it into the 5mph zone and worked the rocks - -Nothing - Fog lifted and I headed towards the narrows about 9ish. Pulled out the drop and finally scored a 15-16 incher. Stopped and chatted with three others -- Nothing in not even a hit. Worked the walls some more and hit a real shorty - then NOTHING! Sun finally came out and I started shedding clothes. Headed back towards White Oak and worked the edges. -- Nothing. Said OK, try again Saturday. Only four other trailers in the lot when I left at 11:20.
City: S.M.Tips: Wait till maybe 10ish. Bite is really off and the fish are deep and the warming sun may bring them up more towards the edges. Bite was on a Robo 4".

Report: GOLD COAST BASS AFTERNOON MEET
A good gathering this afternoon with 13 boats on hand for a 2 to 8 meet. Lots of grass weeds on the lake making casting tough as several bowls of salad were coming in with the baits. Props getting clogged as were a few motors. A few teams trying frogs late with a couple of good blowups . Senkos hooked wacky were taking in good keepers across from White Oak. Wind was up more than usual but the temps held for a nice day.
Winners in with 16+, second in the 13 range. Several good bags above 9-11 pounds. Big fish at 6 and change. NEXT: CACHUMA on 20 Sept.
City: SMTips: Moring bite was good all week with 20+ bags. Afternoon shutdown made it tough to take in any fish. Zca Flats holding quality fish as was the back side in the narrows.

Water Temp: 54o
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Gold Coast Bass Meet -- 17 boats - VERY cold start today with a cold front that moved in over the past day and a half. Biting breeze at times with gloves the common rule. Finally took off my coat at about 1PM when the sun peaked in. But it sure shut off the bite today. Some so-so bags at the scales with a 4.50+ taking big fish and 13 and change taking home the cash. Pretty meager day for most including our boat. Senko's seem to have been the hitter today. Did get a tag on a swim but no keeper. Cachuma is next on 24 May. As for the inspections --- Give this Lake a thumbs up to the lake personnel. They weathered the cold morning and did a great job of getting everyone in and fishing. Still a little slow but BE PATIENT --- Wait your turn and follow directions and it will go a lot EZier for everyone.
