Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Me and my partner were the irst boat on the water with not much wind and not cold at all. We have been waiting or the ish to move shallow or about a month, so went to the lake with a game plan o starting around shallow structures with deep water close. Fished or about thirty minutes with nothing then my partner hooked up with one in about 11 eet. We were going towards the back o the lake and that ish was about 1.5 so as we got arther I hooked up with one in 9 eet that was about the same size. We worked are way out o there and I hooked up with one in less than 5 eet on one o my avorite shorelines. As the day progressed we were curios to see i there was ish deep. So we went to some rockpiles in 30 to 40 eet. Ater about 30 minutes my partner got one in about 36 eet and it was are biggest o the day going 2.6. The wind got pretty bad during the day but we managed a ew more ish all keepers. We ended the day at 2:00pm with 9 ish total the best ive would have went 8 or 9 pounds not bad or a tough day, considering the weather in the week beore.
City: CoalingaTips: Fish shallow try it all times o the day, I think the ish are spread all over considering we caught them rom less than ive all the way to 36 eet. Most plastics you use will work try dark colors. Get the big one its time!Good Luck!!

Best bites have been on the main river throwing lipless cranks and jigs, on the lake ishing key points(trees, habitats) and drop os. Smallmouth bass haven't yet started bedding, should be any day.

Water Temp: 49.6
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Started early with MBtopwater, throwing blades and suspending jerk baits at Zebe cove point with no luck. Thought ish would be up shallow as the preceeding week was sunny and 60 to 65 degrees. Weather was overcast and cold so no morning bite or us. Went to Windy Gap, stated ishing points and walls in 15-30 eet shaking 6" worms. This pattern had been working over the past month, no luck. Started the big motor and graphed the walls and points, ound bait ish and bass in 40-50 eet. MBTopwater starts drop shott'n and immediatly get bit, nice 3 pound spot. Ater he gets 5 ish in the boat, switch to the drop shot and we are putting good health spots and blacks in the boat on consistent basis. I tried various baits and presentations but this day the ish wanted the 4.5 inch curl tail worm in shad pattern. All ish were healthy and at, practice catch and release and we will have a good spawn and good ishning or years to come.
City: FresnoTips: Full out winter pattern, ish at 40-50 eet. Use your electronics to ind the bait and ind the ish

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First time at my avorite place this year, water is coming up slow, but it is nice to see. We could use some nice weather but the rain is also needed. Started shallow to see i any ish were moving up, my partner got one bite, but missed it. The ish just did not seem to be shallow so we moved to the dam about 9:00am. The wind was airly calm but it was cold with no sun. No bites around the dam area. Started to get a little rustrated so went to an area where there are some good dropos and rockpiles. My partner hooked up with are irst ish, a small one but boy did we eel good. Then the ish just turned on caught a couple about 1 to 1.5 pounds. All the bites were very sot except I had one almost rip my pole out o my hands, thought I had the ish hooked good but he still managed to throw the hook. Well I guess I'll wait or next time. We inished the day with 8 bass but nothing over 2 pounds. A tough day but good experience or me and my partner. We caught all are ish in the same area, the only place they would bite or us.
City: CoalingaTips: Try deep still but they could move up any week now. I will be going the next ew weeks to try or some big ish. Go conident and don't give up try new areas and dierent techniques. Good luck and have un.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First time ishing here since early last summer. I don't know the lake all that well, me and my partner just wanted a change in ishing. I usually ish in the valley which include Hensley, Eastman, Kaweah, and Success. We started at irst light on the north shore where I knew there would be some ish ater about ten minutes my partner hooked up with are irst ish. Not a big ish but a big accomplishment considering we had not been there or sometime and had no idea where the ish would be or what they would bite. I hooke up a couple ish about an thirty minutes ater that. Then it started raining or about an hour, we went over by cemetery cove and got nothing. Then went back to our spot we had caught the ish but ishing slowed down, but we were able to get three more. It was a good day a little cold but lots o un.
City: coalingaTips: The ish are right o the weed right now, throw right up in there then work it all the way out. We got our ish rom 5 to 10 eet. Use dark colored plastics they will work. Good ish is coming so get out there and have un, and hold on or that big ish.

Report: Started out late this morrning and managed to get on the water about 1:00. Little rain started when we got there and it continued throughout the day. Water was calm and we fished the dam starting at the generator. Drop shotting 4" fatsack worms and spooning fish up off of the bottom. A tail spin produced a good fish, but the rest were dinks.
City: TehachapiTips: Fish 30+ feet at the dam and fish slow! Some spots are showing fish in the 20-25' range, but most are 30+ feet.
Try even deeper for the fatties. The lake is rising fast and spring will be here soon!

Report: Well was sick saturday so went sunday. Very cold morning wind blowing about 15 mph. Partner got a couple in about 25 eet back to back, then things got slow. Around 1:00 we went out to some real good dropos, I hooked up with one that went 3.1 nice ish, then missed a good one then got one more about 1.5, we inished with only 4 keepers but we were the only bass boat there most o the day a couple boats came or a ew hours durnig the day. Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Son, John, and I ished this beautiul lake again on Sunday, December 28, 2003, getting on the water in a rental boat at 8:45 a.m. We'd heard the lake's marina is closing ater the irst o the year, and that it may take several months (or longer) to ind a new concessionaire to operate the marina. The ramps will apparently remain open, but the marina with its store and rental boat operation will no longer be unctioning or a while. We were surprised at how low the lake level is -- a good 35-40 eet below ull pool. Key pieces o structure that we had previously ished were now totally exposed. (A great opportunity to study and photograph those pieces o structure so we'll be ready when the lake ills up again!) Started at the point across the lake rom the marina cove, and had our irst ish, a small bass (1 lb) within the irst 25 minutes. It took a 1/2 ounce Silver Buddy ished slowly on the bottom in about 20 eet o water. With no more takers on that point, we motored towards the dam, stopping to ish prominent points along the way. Graphed ish suspended 8 - 10 eet above the bottom in the main channel at several locations. Fished vertically and by casting to present several dierent lure types to those suspended ish but could get no response rom them. Long stretches o the shoreline were graphed and showed no ish whatsoever, no bass and no shad - many stretches were virtually barren. Tried several dierent presentations appropriate to the cold water temperature (jig-n-pig's, inesse worms, slow-rolled spinnerbaits, lipless and billed crankbaits ished slow on the bottom and at various depths, Silver Buddy slowly lited and dropped on the bottom, drop-shot rigs, 4" & 5" Senko, small spoons with trailers, small grubs, etc.) but no urther takers. Weeds along the shoreline were mostly brown and dying. Water was clear except down in the dam cove where it became stained. Ambient air temperature was cold in the morning (30 degrees) but warmed somewhat (into the 40's) as the sun rose higher in the sky which was clear. There was little or no wind all day. It was a very pleasant day or late December!
City: Monterey, CATips: Watch or the diving birds eating small shad. They are helpul indicators o baitish location. Keep looking or the actively eeding ish, since the suspenders don't seem interested in eating.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well I was back on the water saturday at 6:30am with my partner. It was cloudy but not too cold. We started at the dam hooked up with about six bass in 20 to 30 eet on dropshot rig. Moved to some submerged rocks and dropos, partner hooked up with a 2.4 bass, real healthy ish at as can be. All ish were nice and at. We ended the day with a total o 11, we ished or about seven hours. Not bad or a cold day, wind picked up pretty good, and when we were leaving there wasn't a cloud in the sky, beautiul day on the water.
City: coalingaTips: These ish are aggressive as can be, ish deep. Use a little extra action when jigging your rig seemed like the ish liked a little more action this weekend. Well just go out and have un. Merry Christmas!! P.S. I'll be back on the 27th.
