Siltcoos Lake
-
Water Temp: 65ish I'd guess
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Caught some nice bass for the first couple hours before the wind got bad and tried to blow my canoe off the lake. Most of the fish that were caught were on beds, 1-3lb and 1-4lb beefy bass, a few 2s. Using plastic baits mostly large worms precisely placed above hungry bass. Sunny warm weather not at Siltcoos.

Water Temp: outside 65-80
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: we fished for 2 days(18th and 19th). we came out of rock cr. we went to the right from their in that cove. I caught 1 bass in about 2 1/2 hours using plastic worms. I only had one spinnerbait it was the kind that has a worm on it not the ones with tentacles. The bass was about 1 pound and 7-10 in. We fished a day and a half for trout and didn't even have a bite. On the fish finder their was tons of fish but nothing. The only trout i caught was at 8:45 p.m. and it was only about 4 in. I was mad when I found out that catfish have been introduced. I dont know how but I was wading in the water and I saw a catfish and stabbed it with a stick and threw it in the bushes. If you have any info please contact me with subject (crane fishing).
City: springfield,orTips: Go early in the morning and come in when its windy.

Tenmile Lake
-
Water Temp: 64-66.5
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Caught (and released) my first Oregon bass. Took advantage of the free fishing days and went to Dorena Lake both days. What a great lake. It's got just about every type of feature you would ever want to fish. And it's got some pretty nice bass in it. It rained Saturday but I was still able to catch 5 fish for almost 10 lbs. The first one was a 3lb,15oz. chunk that hit a creature bait up the creek. I talked to another boat that had 8 bass between 2 guys incl. a 6lb,2oz bass. The weather was beautiful Sunday but the fishing wasn't quite as good- at least for me and my fishing partner. We got 2 fish each- a 12 and 14" for him and a 5 and 7" for me. We did get to cruise all over the lake looking around and watching the electronics (On Saturday I was so excited to be going fishing I left the screens sitting on the porch!). A gal fishing near the campground said her neighbor got an 8 lb. bass on Saturday afternoon- I love hearing that. See ya out there.
City: yoncallaTips: T rigged creature baits and a 4" dropshot worm worked for us. Expect little ones on the dropshot or try 6" worms instead. Didn't get any on jigs or crankbaits but had to try. Can't wait 'till August to try frogs along sure to be weedy east (shallow) shore.

Report: Another report for IRONGATE.....
Got on the water about 5 p.m. A few small fish (1 keeper) in Jenny Cr. on jigs and Senkos. Headed to the Narrows and picked up 3 more decent fish on the big rock face. My son stuck a couple of 2 1/2-3 lb. fish on watermelon Senkos, texas rigged with a 1/4 oz. bullet weight. I got a few on a green Kreature bait, and one keeper on a brown jig.
City: MedfordTips: Water is down about 6 ft. since Tuesday. LOTS of weeds already. Try the outside weedlines for bigger fish.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: This report is for IRONGATE... Nowhere else to post, so I thought I'd put this here because it's the closest alternative.
Got on the lake about 4:30 p.m. Started at outhouse point. Stuck a couple of small fish on green, green/red Kreature baits. Also one on Pumpkinseed Senko. Moved across the lake to the Big rock ledge. Five or six fish (1-2 lbs.) Several on brown jigs, a couple on Kreature. Pulled one nice 4 lb. about 15' deep on ledge. Headed towards Jenny Cr. Caught another 6-8 average fish (and alot of dinks) on jigs and Senkos. Mostly brown and green. One more 4 lb. on left side of main chanel near Jenny Cr. Fished until after dark, hoping to catch a frog bite, but it never happened. Had one fish blow up on a white/chartreuse buzzbait, and one strike on a green frog. May be a little early...
City: MedfordTips: Water is WAY up. Alot of trees and brush to attack. Most of the fish came off the bank. Skip under the limbs as far as you can. Seem to be pretty shallow. Good Luck!!

Water Temp: 63
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: This report is for Applegate Lake..... A friend of mine from Portland was visiting for the weekend which gave me a good excuse to go fishing on Applegate..... Ran into Jim from Crater Bass Club early in the AM and he said that he and his buddy had caught two smallmouth at that point.. One on a jig, and one on a Gitzit.... My friend and I tried points, willows etc, etc and one finally smacked a white spinnerbait but came unbuttoned (and it was a Leverage spinnerbait) A few minutes later my friend hooked one on a Senko, but it jumped and that was the last we saw of it... We then went up Carberry creek to where the water temp dropped to 49 degrees and fished out from there..... Finally, hooked a SM on a chugbug that measured 16" and weighed 2 pounds... Said hello to the Sheriffs patrol on the way out,a nd they just waved us on by, although we had seen them check just about everybody else on the lake.... Tyhat was just about it for the day, weather was overcast all day, it rained some, and the wind blew for a while, but you know what they say about abad day fishing and a good day working......... The lake is as high as I have seen it in years, and abosloutly beautiful.... Now if I could just get the fish to co-operate.............
City: Williams, ORTips: Although the fishing was pretty slow, I did have a few smaller fish chase baits right up to the boat, thought a slower presentation might work better, but had nothing hit except for that one fish on the Senko...... Go figure.....

Crane Prairie Lake
-
Water Temp: 58-59
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished the lake for a couple of days. Sunday evening cranked the bank from Rock Cr. towards the dam...nothing. Monday we started in Quinn Cr.. 7:00 I stuck a 3lb. on a green Kreature bait. One more fish on a Senko, then headed toward the marina, about half-way through the channel, south side of the lake. Didn't get bit.
Fished toward the dam, still nothing. Threw cranks, spinnerbaits, Kreatures, jigs, Senkos, kitchen sink...still nothing. Headed back out on Tuesday. Fishing picked up a little. Six fish in 5 hours. 3 near Rock Cr. on cranks, 3 more northeast of the dam (hit some of the little coves). The warmer weather seems to be improving the fishing a litle bit each day. I had to come back to work, but my buddy is still there...aarrrrgggh!!
City: MedfordTips: Most of the fish are coming of of isolated wood. A few are starting to head up shallow, but didn't find any bed fish. Look in 6'-10'. Crank the points as the wind picks up, and head back to the wood when you can.

Report: This report is for Applegate Lake. Got on the water about 10:00 AM and calm conditions were good across the lake. Set out for Squaw Arm and tried banks and log floats. Sight fished but no takers. When wind came up got a dink with plastic worm about 6ft down.
Moved out to main body and fished along eastern bank with no luck, left around 2:00 PM. Beautiful to see lake full.

Siltcoos Lake
-
Water Temp: Warm to Touch
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Spent about four hours fishing, started at 4PM. We used spinners(Panther Martins) and nightcrawlers. We got totally skunked for the first three hours, only like four bites. The lake level is very high, they really have it dammed up there.
We were fishing in a driftboat along the shorelines and in the deep, one of us using spinners, and one with worms. The shirrif came motoring by and said HI, didn't give us a ticket for not having our boat numbers put on.
I caught a 14" rainbow trout, the only fish of the day. He stuck on a small yellow spinner, not a panther. Was casting from the shoreline then.
City: WestlakeTips: The boat police told us nobody has been catching much. I would say try some early morning and late evening fishing. If it's not during the bite, you might as well take flight...

Report: Any body here? Colorado angler will be fishing tournament in May @ Umatilla. Looking for general info and past tourney results. At what wind speed and direction should a guy forget about locking through to Wallula and making the run to Yakima?

Lower Columbia River
-
Water Temp: 56
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had a tournament this weekend the fishing was great. The Willamette was washed out so we headed up the columbia toward reed island. Everything was a bit flooded out so as the day progressed the water started to drop and the fishing got better and better. We caught about 35 fish lost about another 10 and won the tournament with almost 14 pounds.
City: LyleTips: I recommend fishing any shallow areas with a little bit of deeper water nearby such as a ditch or channel. Try working the shallows first then work the deeper water nearby if that fails. We caught fish on everything but our better fish came off of split shotting brush hawgs.
Good luck.
