      Water Temp: 70-74

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Took my 2 1/2 year old daughter fishing for the first time at a small city park pond in southern california while we were on vacation. She didn't catch a fish but she insisted on reeling it back in every time and she casted with just a little daddy help. She did catch a nice sized branch on her little crappie jig and "sponge a bob" pole. I guess she paid more attention than I thought when we were watching all those fishing shows. Even my photographer (mommy) thought it was pretty cool. As "uncle" Roland always says "That's what it's all about right there!!
      City: yoncalla

Tips: Take your kids fishing..... and leave your rod at home. Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with using a 2 foot long "sponge a bob" pole to make a few casts. With my luck that's when my 10 pounder would hit!

Report: I am posting this to earn some fishing carma. I was fishing the mouth of the willamette. the tide was out and it was windy and choppy. I was bottom bouncing works as usual, But hooked three of my nicest smallmouth yet. The largest was about 20 inches and broke my rod when i wrecklessly lifted it from the water and let it hang on the line. I've also seen some big bass taking minnows at the srface doen there.
      City: portland

Tips: I'm no pro, but what i know is to find some structure and fish off the bottom.

      Water Temp: 70 to 75

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: New to Oregon and this area from fishing 40 years in California waters, Shasta to Clear Lake and loved to catch those big smallies at Trinity. So, why not try out the Oregon state record smallmouth lake after enjoying the California state record lake for so many years (Thanks Tim Brady for all the memories of that record fish there at Trinity!!!) Anyway, Hagg Lake is a small lake only three miles long and void of structure as we know it in Calif. lakes, i.e. prominent points, cliff lines etc. Rip/rap on small dam there with fish on graph..but no takers. Long story short, all day with only one "bump"!!! Over one hour drive in heavy traffic to get "spanked" bad...oh, well there has to be some offshore rock piles that I will find another day. Let's here some local success stories on this pretty little lake.
      City: Clackamus

Tips: No tips, due to no fish caught..but not because I did not try all that I thought would produce fish...just not a good day for me!!!

      Water Temp: 60S

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Fished numerous times in late August through the end of September. Water level real low and the only way to catch fish was spinnerbaits in the shallowest water you could find.
      City: lapine

Tips: Fish Rock Point and all the coves on the east side of the lake. 2 or 3 guys can catch over a hundred fish a day but no size! One nice 6lb Largemouth to the boat, then gone! Yee Haa! Much better early in the spring, especially if not a lot of snow! May and June will be a killing field this year! I will keep everyone posted! Good luck guys!

Report: IT WAS A BREEZY DAY W/ A SLIGHT CHOP. THE AIR TEMP WAS IN THE 80'S W/ NO CLOUD COVER. I AM FROM FLORIDA ORIGINALLY, AND AM AN AVID BASS FISHERMAN, I HAVE BEEN IN SEARCH OF BASS SINCE MOVING TO OREGON.
WE STARTED OUT THE DAY IN SEARCH OF SMALL MOUTHS, I BEGAN SEARCHING W/ CRANKBAITS AND SPINNERBAITS TO COVER LARGE AREAS. WE WERE ABLE TO BRING IN 3 OR 4 SMALLER ONES(ENOUGH TO KEEP IT EXCITING). AROUND NOON I SWITCHED TO A TEXAS RIGGED PUMPKIN SEED LIZARD, I BEGAN TO FISH DROP OFFS AND SANDBARS W/ A SLOOOOOOW DRAG. THEN WHAM I HAD A GOOD HIT, I GOT EXCITED. I PULLED IN A GOOD SIZE SMALLEY. IT WAS 19.75 INCHES AND 4.6 OUNCES. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A GOOD DAY!!!!
      City: CANYON CITY

Tips: FISH DEEPER AND SLOWER FOR THE LARGER FISH, THE ONE I BROUGHT IN WAS DARK COLORED , YOU COULD TELL
IT WAS ON THE BOTTOM FOR AWHILE.

Report: Well, since Western Bass doesn,t seem to think that Oregon bassfishers aren't important enough to put a few southern Oregon lakes on this site, and since nobody seems to want to leave any reports anyway, this will be my last visit to this site... It's really too bad, this COULD HAVE BEEN a great way to share information with others and also learned more about our sport.... Oh well ! ! ! ! Tight lines anyway..........

Report: Went fishing today this is only my third time here. Pounded the big girls to 5lbs for 19lbs limit.
Used some of the California delta techniques back home.
Flipped and pitched plastics for the most part. Fished all the pockets of grass, weedbeds, wood and rocks.
This is a great fishery. There are some toads in here.
Had to work for the fish but the size was solid.
      Threw yamamoto baits laminate special.
      Success to all.
      City: Tracy, CA

Tips: Stay focused and fish hard and watch your line. The bites wer very light.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Caught some nice bass for the first couple hours before the wind got bad and tried to blow my canoe off the lake. Most of the fish that were caught were on beds, 1-3lb and 1-4lb beefy bass, a few 2s. Using plastic baits mostly large worms precisely placed above hungry bass. Sunny warm weather not at Siltcoos.

      Water Temp: outside 65-80

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: we fished for 2 days(18th and 19th). we came out of rock cr. we went to the right from their in that cove. I caught 1 bass in about 2 1/2 hours using plastic worms. I only had one spinnerbait it was the kind that has a worm on it not the ones with tentacles. The bass was about 1 pound and 7-10 in. We fished a day and a half for trout and didn't even have a bite. On the fish finder their was tons of fish but nothing. The only trout i caught was at 8:45 p.m. and it was only about 4 in. I was mad when I found out that catfish have been introduced. I dont know how but I was wading in the water and I saw a catfish and stabbed it with a stick and threw it in the bushes. If you have any info please contact me with subject (crane fishing).

      Water Temp: 64-66.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Caught (and released) my first Oregon bass. Took advantage of the free fishing days and went to Dorena Lake both days. What a great lake. It's got just about every type of feature you would ever want to fish. And it's got some pretty nice bass in it. It rained Saturday but I was still able to catch 5 fish for almost 10 lbs. The first one was a 3lb,15oz. chunk that hit a creature bait up the creek. I talked to another boat that had 8 bass between 2 guys incl. a 6lb,2oz bass. The weather was beautiful Sunday but the fishing wasn't quite as good- at least for me and my fishing partner. We got 2 fish each- a 12 and 14" for him and a 5 and 7" for me. We did get to cruise all over the lake looking around and watching the electronics (On Saturday I was so excited to be going fishing I left the screens sitting on the porch!). A gal fishing near the campground said her neighbor got an 8 lb. bass on Saturday afternoon- I love hearing that. See ya out there.
      City: yoncalla

Tips: T rigged creature baits and a 4" dropshot worm worked for us. Expect little ones on the dropshot or try 6" worms instead. Didn't get any on jigs or crankbaits but had to try. Can't wait 'till August to try frogs along sure to be weedy east (shallow) shore.
