Report: Got on the water a 6:00PM. Absolutely no reaction bite at all! Fished Windy Gap to Sycamore. Caught 3 keepers 13" - 14" splitshotting in 35 eet o water. Used 4" Iovino Green Weenies. Fishing was better last week. Trout were hitting dropshot rigs, but you couldn't hook them!
      City: Visalia

Tips: Fishing slowly, keep some Trout tackle in the boat, they are really active!

      Water Temp: 48-51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Launched out o Paradise at 8am or so. We ran to the ourteen mile slough area and only got 1 hit on a plastic. I got a good hook set, but the ish just came o. Ater an hour or so, we ran up into the honker area and got 1 more hit on a plastic, but missed that one as well. We knew it was going to be a slow bass day or us, so we decided to head up to the Potato area and toss or some striper. We were rewarded immediately getting 9 striper to 6 pounds on rip baits. We also hit a 2 1/2 pound bass on a rip bait. We tried a ew other areas with no success and then called it a day at 3 pm. Beautiul day.
      City: roseville

Tips: Tough bass day, though we didn't really work as hard or them as we could have. The water clarity was pretty good, so we were hoping to get in to one o those jumbo stripers. Will be trying the Mildred area this weekend. There are some good shallow to deep areas out there that usually hold good winter bass.

      Water Temp: 47

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished this lake on the 26th o last month and like the last entry I ound the experence interesting regarding the launch experience. This is unlike past years, as the lake is almost ull. Two o us ished rom 10:00-4:30 and boated 10-12 ish, the largest 3.2lb, electronic scale. That was my buddy's and I thought I had him with a slightly longer ish, 2.8lb.The rest were the typical 1-1.5 lb. spots. Alot o submerged rocks, ect. Cost me a prop last year and poorly marked. This is a beautiul lake but on the small side or the usual ish.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Everything I caught was on a 1/4 oz. brown/orange weapon jig with a black/green pork trailer. Buddy on a Tex. Rig. baby brush hog. Nothing on blades, spoons, cranks.

      Water Temp: 39 to 46

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: For this time o year I had a good day. I caught a total o 9 ish. All were spots ,1 to 2 lbs. caught seven on a jig and two on 5'' senkos. Was dragging the senkos weightless behind the boat while ishing the jigs orward. I you take pride in your boat, dont go to CFW.It seems to much o a bother or the lake manager to move the dock with the water level. When launching I had to tie a rope to my boat ,pull it to shore, then take o my shoes and wade in a ew steps to hop in the boat.I was airly ticked o the irst hour as my eet were reezing. I'll stop whining and just bring waders next time.
      City: Granite Bay Ca.

Tips: This is a honest report, unlike the previous one which I suspect is rom the lake manager. Oh yea, black quarter oz. jig with green double tail Yamamoto trailer.

      Water Temp: ???

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got to the lake around 1:30. Fished or several hours. Our big motor died so we had to go back or more minnows with the trolling motor. That put a damper on things but we caught 10 anyway. Smallest was around 2, largest was 4.11, and the rest were either 3 or 4. Overall it was a good day.
      City: vacaville

      Tips: MINNOWS!!!!

      Water Temp: cold

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Bruce and I ished sat morning. Seemed like every boat on the lake was throwing giant trout swimbaits. Maybe they are getting the big ish? We ished shiners and cought 6 rom 2.5 to 4.1 . Bruce kept 1 or dinner and we let the other 5 go. Mike
      City: Morgan Hill

Tips: ish seemed to start biting about 10am ater it warmed up a bit. Caught most o the ish rom 15 eet o water with one shallow ish.

      Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water at 10:30am. maybe too late. Graphed alot o ish in 40-50 t o water, threw everything at them, but only a ew strikes. Used dropshot & carolina rigs, & some crankbaits. Maybe too cold?
      City: Visalia

Tips: Don't have any. The prior posts with minnows may be the way to go.

      Water Temp: 44-46

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: my partner, Bryce and I went down to oroville or the won bass team event this am. Cold as the dickens at 33 degrees and we put in at bidwell with 47 other teams, took o about 710am and neither o us know this lake so we stopped in the main body just north o the dam and started pounding the banks with jigs. I got bit right o the bat but missed the ish, very sot bite, Bryce went through the same thing so we took o or the bridge just outside o Lime Saddle(west branch?) where we get on some dinks on worms, Bryce and I are both throwing the MGM 157 and he gets the irst keeper in the boat at 930 am, I get a couple o dinks as the boat traic picks up, guys are running all over the place and I igure everyone else is having a hard time, we ool around the bridge or awhile and Bryce says we should go the the middle ork or south ork which is ine with me as I don't know where these palces are anyhow. Back down to the area across rom Bidwell and under another bridge and then a right turn into an area o sandy light colored banks with some humps going under here and there. A lot o wood loating in the lake in this area and some o it serious enough to break something. We ish the area rom 1130 to 130pm without a single bite. Bryce and I are assessing our situation which doesn't look good with only one ish in the boat. I said maybe we should try the shallow stu across orm us so we move over there in 9-25 eet. We had been ishing 25-40 t areas. Bryce gets another keeper o a sandy point and he notices a slight temp rise o almost 1 degree as we enter this shallow water. we move down the bank and I stick another dink and then a keeper in 9t o water in a creek channel. Bryce is now graphing a lot o ish and sticks another just legal keeper. We move back to the little creek channel and ish it until 240 pm and make our last casts. Bryce sticks a good ish and I get the net on a at 2.29 spot and then miss another dink. We crank up and head in or the weigh in. Start talking to a ew teams ahead o us and learn that limits o 5 ish are scarce. We weigh in 7.14 lbs and most o the guys in ront o me and a ew behing me are in the 6lb area so Bryce and I are eeling a bit better. Best 5 was at 9.54 when we let or the drive home with a little hope let or a good inish. The MGM 157 (jerry's worm) is the only thing we could get to go. once again, Bryce bailed me out. Back to shasta on 3-9-02 or the next round.
      City: Redding

Tips: I don't know where the heck we were at. we ound ish mostly below 25 t but as indicated, the ones up shallow is what bailed us out, the MGM 157 (named ater me, thank you Mr. Coyle) was a liesaver today.

Tips: The people that caught the ish used jigs, a dead minnow, and a brush hog. wait aew weeks, it will improve!!

Retied my knot ater those pigs but then picked up my crankin stick and beore i even made one crank a monster came straight out o the tules and hit my crank with a Mike Tyson right hand knocking the crank out 6 t in the air. Never saw him again, I would say 10 to 12 Lbs. Eight hours o ishing, 5 minutes o action, Saw alot o people killing them with live bait (too easy). Well good luck to all and be sae!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Water Temp: 45 to46

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: In at 12 noon at Bailey Cove. Installed new Pinpoint on bow so had to try it out. Should have picked a better day or a test run. Cold wind out o the north, spent our hours playing with the new depthinder, trying to stay out o the wind, and trying to ish. Well, the depthinder had it's problems (which I think were operator error), couldn't stay out o the wind, and got skunked as ar as the ishing. The Blonde in the back even got skunked. That lead me to believe that the ishing is really tough. We had maybe 3 or 4 bites between us. Better luck next time.
