Water Temp: LOW TO MID 50's

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Was hoping to still get in ishing beore cold ront hit but cold ront was pretty much in ull orce on this saturday.Very little ishing pressure about 30 boats and even less on shore.Pretty much ished swim baits all day casting and slow trolling with only one hit on the tail end o the eagle swim bait (these swim baits look damn good in the water and i have no ties to this company).Talked to quite a ew boats on the water and very slow and tough day but heard the day beore was a very exceptional day with quite a ew lunkers and the lake record which i could not conirm was true.It seemed like 80% OF boats were throwing swim baits on this day.
      City: ONTARIO CA.

Tips: Try a little something obeat like trolling swimbeats with leadcore or a downrigger in 25 to 40 eet o water across points and around island and east end o lake.Or ish Murphy style and double anchor and ish dads or worms or jigs very slow o o points or on the rockpiles.

Report: Had to be one the best trout ishing trips in a long time. Three o us in the boat and on the water about 7AM. Slight og and clearing later in the morning, then rain, just pulled the boat out beore it hit. Lucky. Started with inlated nightcrawlers and we hooked into three or our right o the bat. Then we started using power bait (chartruese, yellow, and rainbow) all worked well. From 7am to around 11:30am we had a total o about 34 rainbows with about 25 missed. Ended up keeking 10 between us. We were just driting on the bottom. Remember it is a ive ish limit. I you release them make sure they are good to go back and swim away.Good luck

Report: This report will certainly be better than the last one, especially i I had not lost a huge bass yesterday 'cause I didn't check the tip o my jig hook ater snagging on a rock. It was good to be back at Clear Lake ater three weeks amd more postponed trips because o the weather and lousy ishing than I can remember. I had a really nice client and a skillul isheerman, but green in the sport o winter bass ishing. We used jig 90% o the time, trying or big bites. He missed a bass near Rattlesnake Island and later had a good bass pick up his jig without him knowing it and swim towards him. He inally set the hook but it was too late. I think I igured out a good pattern when I stuck a big ish around 8:30 AM. She was ar o the edge o a rockpile - a good winter pattern. She was beautiul and ull o ight, and really nailed my Rodstrainer jig. She weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz. Daytime Rules! We ished several other areas south o the narrows without a bite. Finally, in the cove near Sea Breeze, a 4-13 took my Weapon jig with #180 Yamamoto single tail grub. The next bass I owe to my client! I was teaching him about bass stu all day and was explaining something to him while I kept working my jig urther and urther out into deep water - not paying much attention to it. When it went THUNK - I payed attention! That one was 7 lbs 1 oz! So, 6 bites - 3 in the boat or around 20 lbs, and one lost monster! I was really pleased to see how excited my client was to see his irst really big bass - I wish he had caught one, but he sat how it was done and his day will come!

Tips: Just ished jig very slowly in rocky dropos.

Report: FELLAS FELLAS,YES THIS MAY BE A "BASS SITE" BUT ARENT WE ALL FISHERMAN.LAKE AMADOR HOLDS MORE THAN JUST BASS IN ITS WATERS AND IF IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT A NICE 5LB TROUT HITS YOUR JIG OR LURE WHY NOT REPORT ON THAT.THIS SITE IS PRETTY MUCH THE ONLY AVENUE THAT IVE FOUND ON THE GREAT FISHING AT AMADOR,SINCE THEY DONT HAVE A SITE OF THEIR OWN THIS VEHICLE HELPS THOSE OF US THAT DONT LIVE THAT CLOSE TO THE LAKE FIND OUT ABOUT ALL FISHING IN THE LAKE.I MYSELF AM AN AVID CRAPPIE FISHERMAN,BUT I'VE TAKEN 4-7LB BASS OUT THERE ON MY CRAPPIE JIGS.......BOTTOM LINE IS IF ITS A TROUT REPORT STOP READING IT AND MOVE ON FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ONLY WANT TO READ ABOUT BASS.FROM ONE FISHERMAN TO THE OTHERSJUST FISHHAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR AND I'LL BE THE BIG GUY ON THE DOCKS
      City: ANTIOCH

Tips: FOR ANYONE FISHING THE DOCK AS I DO,TRY JIGS IN A VARIETY OF COLORS,MOST FISH TROUT AND CRAPPIE MAINLY HIT THE WHITE ONE BUT IVE SWITCHED UP COLORS AND CAUGHT MANY MORE THAN JUST ON WHITE...... AND THE BASS LOVE LITTLE JIGS WHEN ITS COLD THEY DONT HAVE TO EXERT A LOT OF ENERGY TO HIT IT.

Report: Trout is ok to catch, when the big hogs aren't. Mr. Bassman, a 5 lbs. trout can't shake a stick to a 5 lbs. BASS. A Amador hog will snap a trout pole like Bin Laden's neck once our Special Ops get him. Don't get me wrong. I like trout ishing, when I'm up in the streams o the Sierras, but pound or pound, give a kid a 10 lbs Bass to battle and he'll probably not go back to mushy powerbait ever again.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Catch and release BASS so they can eat more trout and get nice and at.

Report: All o you olks out there that are talking about the report I posted on 12-11,I'm simply stating that I come to ncb to keep up on the bass ishing. I understand that this time o year is trout time or Amador but why not start a trout ishing site{or is there one already?}Perhaps my comment on a REAL sport was a bit extreme, but I didn't realize it was going to rule so many eathers and Craig you were right I didn't have anything to do that day, so in closing I want to apoligize or the real sport comment.I do a little trout ishing rom time to time, but I would never post the results on this web site.I'll keep my eye out or the green boat and you keep your eye out or the man with the ull livewell.

Report: Got out to the lake around 9:00 a.m. let at 4:00 p.m. I've been trying to catch one o a pod o big bass (8-12lbs I'd guess)that seem to stage at the same spot every year in December. They are really skittish in about 5 eet o water with close access to deep water. Haven't igured it out yet. I've used live bait, all artiicials, light line, small hook, slowwwwwwwwww presentation, and keeping out o sight. I have had them VERY interested but not take it YET. I am beginning to question my bass ishing skills, or lack thereo. I will catch one this year and I'll keep you posted.

      Tips: Fish slowwwwww.

Report: I made three short trips to Collins in the past week - each trip about 4 hours, starting about 8:30 AM. I ound the ishing to be quite good, and the quality o the spotted bass was excellent! I had a riend with me on two o the trips and one solo trip. I believe we had 23 in the boat total or the three trips, and my best limit was 18 1/4 lbs - all spots, including 4-9 and 5-0 lb spots, caught about 8 minutes apart!! I caught a 4-8 spot on the previous trip, and the last trip produced a 4 lb largemouth and a 3-1 spot. Can't get those at Oroville! All were caught on Rodstrainer jigs with Yamamoto grub trailers - two or three dierent colors. We were ishing around the islands and in the river arm. Did not ish the east side. Most o the bass were 10 to 22 eet deep and seemed to be moving up at the lake illed. It may be muddy now, since the rain will not stop. We tried crankbaits with no success.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: Just ish jig slowly, but swim them over the really bad rocks!
