I never caught a one that day, but he was still yakk'n when I put her back on the trailer. He caught one lousy ish all day and I thought I would never here the end o it all the way back to the shack.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 50-52
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Water clarity was clear in most of the lake (that characteristic Berryessa Green tinted color), the mud line was well up Putah Creek after the big storms of last weekend. Even up Putah, it wasn't as muddy as I've seen it in years past. There's a foot or so visability up in Putah, about a mile past the Boy Scout Camp. Water was a little cooler up there compared with the narrows. Only got one small keeper largemouth in deep water off rock wall in the narrows. I was sitting in 50'. Talked to two other guys, one had just one smallmouth on a worm up in Putah, the other was Dropshot, who had 5 fish up to 2.5 lbs. Seems like all the tournament boats I saw were in the south end of the lake fishing the main rock walls and points.
City: Bay PointTips: No suggestions, cause I didn't do so well. Keep you eye out for wild life, though. I saw a bobcat and a pair of bald eagles up in Putah. Heard some coyotes howling too.

Water Temp: 52-54
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished main lake area, searched for rock piles and large boulder point (west side). Fished for 6 hrs, caught and released 6 fish had 8 hits. 5 of those fish averaged around 2lbs. Caught all the fish on either black or brown jigs with junebug trailer. Fish came from 15 to 25ft of water. Couldnt get a rip bite nor a worm bite to go.
City: Castro ValleyTips: Right know Id stay with the main lake area, creeks are stained brown. fish main bays but stay on the out side near deep water, finding rocky area in 15 to 40ft of water. Fish jigs slooooow until you can determine what there aggressiveness is. Black or brown jigs will work.

Had to leave as soon as weighed in, didn't hear results or winning pattern(S). chilly all day-could have used more or thicker cloud-cover Don't

Water Temp: n/a
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Recent heavy rains have muddied up the lake considerably, and also raised the water level a few feet. Visibility was about 6 inches. I fished from 11-4:30 today and found an overall tough bite. I managed 2, one 1 1/2lber, and one pushing 3lbs. The fish hit on a purple/brown Zipper worm, texas rigged, with Kickin Bass Scent. I also missed 2 good thunks on a small Rodstrainer football jig w/ Yamamoto trailer. I think I couldve caught 1 or 2 more fish, but the yuppies in their ski boats were thrashing the water pretty good.
City: San MateoTips: Work the bait VERY slow right now in these muddy conditions, and try to use some sort of scent.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Friday the 28th from 9am to 4pm. Water was extremely muddy which made it interesting. Caught five fish, biggest was 2.6lbs. Caught 2 on a white double-willow (biggest blades I had) spinnerbait. Both were in about 5ft. Caught 2 on a black/blue 1/2 oz. jig with black/blue plastic trailer. Hopping it on a rocky drop off in about 10ft. of water. Last one came dragging/drifting a c-rig zipper worm. Lost another on the c-rig (too slow). My first time fishing Calero this muddy. It was a nice change. Also threw spider grubs on jig heads with no luck. Tried a couple different crankbaits as well, and a rattletrap, no luck.
City: San JoseTips: Slow rolling a spinnerbait with large blades was the most fun. Only two hits on the spinnerbait, but they were aggressive. Oklahoma blades would probably work best. Move a lot of water, or pick a noisy bait to get their attention.
