Report: The water is way down off the shoreline a good 10-15 feet as in preperation for the winter snow. I fished in the north fork and I hooked into two small large mouth's using senko's. I tried all types of lures with no other luck.

      Water Temp: 64-6

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Made a 4 hr trip this afternoon with my friend Mike and found the bite to be what we thought after the previous day north wind. It was slow but we had some action. Mike had 6 or 7 hits while drop-shotting, but only landed one keeper. I lost a good fish on the first cast. I started throwing a Chug Bug topwater bait about 5 pm and did go 3 for 3 - two nice largemouth and a 2 lb 3 oz spot. So, the trip wasn't a bust!
      City: Yuba City

Tips: The north wind put the bait deep again - down to 50 + feet. Upcoming rain should get the fall bite going - I hope!

Lost a real good fish over near the mouth of the main creek. Boat ramp a bit of a problem water very low. Daughter caught three trouts on Senko's.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went for a three day trip to the Delta to try out some fall fishing. Traffic on Route 4 heading East into Oakley is terrible in the evening!

Having watched all of Tactical Bassin Matt's videos on night fishing and energized by the excitiment of starting the trip (and a couple of Red Bulls consumed on the drive up) fished all Friday night at the South West end of Frank's, no bites on frogs, chatterbaits, or swimbaits; guess it had gotten too cold. Slept in the boat (3-5 am); cold and wet.

Next morning, after some hot coffee and a power bar was ready for a new day. Saturday morning had some success at the back end of Iron House Slough slow draggin Matt's recommended California Swim jig: One 2#r very dark and black, when I first saw it in the water wasn't even sure it was a bass. Also picked up a dink on on it along the tules on the north side of Big Break. That was it for that day. Friday night boat camped in Sand Mound.

Saturday morning picked up the biggest of the trip: 2.5 on a home made Punker at the junction of Taylor and Dutch. Got 3 on it there. That was the most fun of the trip, decent fish on a topwater bait I made myself, and was starting to think I was a pretty good fisherman (not). Once the sun got up (around 10 am) nothing more on top water. Switched to senkos and picked up more dinks along the rest of of Taylor and in Little Frank's on Senkos.

Saturday night car camped at Russo's; hot shower and some good Mexican food and was ready for Sunday.

My heavy rod had gotten fouled up badly (tried Punching with it and the braid got jammed into the level wind gear) so couldn't use my Punker, so tried a spook early morning around the tools of Frank's Tract. Only had one strike, a small one, and it shook the bait.

Went to Mildred for the heck of it. The River's are really full of floating hyacinth? globs. They bunch up at the banks creating a mat 4-5' wide or more in some places. Is that normal for this time of year?

Found a school of dinks at the entrance to Mildred. Picked up at least 15 drop shotting Yamamoto Shad Shape minnows in watermelon and red flake. Went through a bag of them (amusing but not really what I had come for). Went further back to the west toward the trees. Was startled by a large sea lion that surfaced and snorted as he cruised on by. Nothing further caught and decided that since I hadn't caught anything over 2.5# it was time to call it quits.

Throughout the trip tried spinners, cranks, chatterbaits, rat-L-traps and jigs without success. Note to self: next year go earlier, say the end of September.
      City: Monterey

Tips: Had the best luck throwing top-water, Lunker Punker, very early in the morning.

      Water Temp: ??

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: got there late today started at 10:30am. Started at big break. nothing!! I thought I would be a good day, cause its the start of out going. Traveled to franks tract, got 3 fish to 2 lbs. On a 6-8 ft crankbait. Tried senko and jig, just a few non keepers. Sort of a slow day for me, maybe its a cold front, so proably have to work it slower? I dunno.. Then friends motor dies, so had to tow it back to holland for him!!
      City: sf

Tips: Maybe try fishing slower? Oh, and I spent half an hour of my fishing time trying to cut some fishing line that was strangling a baby bird? or duck's? neck!!! And he or she bit me a few times.. Please people, do not litter your old fishing line and junk in the water, please. Its so easy to put it in your pocket or a bag, and throw it in the trash when your done fishing!!! Really easy. I didn't want to help the poor creature, but I felt so bad seeing it almost dying and strangling on a tule.. Fisherman or Boaters, if you see people littering, please tell them not to, thanks.. Have a good one

      Water Temp: 60 - 62 degrees

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Luanched the custom Valco "BASSBUSTER1" out of Ladd's at 11:00 a.m. and was out of the water by 2:30 p.m. It was mostly a finesse bite for me today using 4" Magic Worms and straight tail power worms. I was forced to use the spinning rods to get most of my bites today. My only keeper came off of the jig. I tried punchin for the last time for the season. I was only getting slaps and short strikes with the california swim jig, spinnerbaits, and cranks.
      City: Stockton

Tips: Time for me to start rigging up for cold water bassin. Small tubes and reapers for flippen, small and medium size jigs, splitshot, dropshot, and now I'm ready to try the shakey head this year as well. Learn your areas you like to fish and you will basically know how to setup when the season changes. Good luck and be safe out there (especially when in the fog).

Report: Skunked again. Another smallmouth kept by douche. He explained to me that he keeps everthing he catches and that the money from the permit fees pays to restock the lake.
      City: Niles

Tips: Use a sliding rig with a 2 oz cannonball and a 20lb spiderwire leader to fish like these regulars. Don't forget to have someone pick up your limit so you can keep fishing.

Report: Since no one is posting any reports I thought I would. The fishing was tough. Crystal clear skies and dead calm water didnt help. We saw lot of fish shallow but they were very skiddish and spooky. We caught 5 small ones in about 3 hrs. A few on topwater and a few on darthead. Only saw a handful of boats on a Sat afternoon and now I know why. Beautiful day but fishing was tough due to the perfect weather.

Not a bad morning...
      City: Sactramento

Tips: Let the speed demons do their thing...and lets keep the fishing report to what it is intended for so that we can assist each other in where we found fish.

Crankbait today...Strike King, square bill in sexy shad color; it killed them all morning long.

Report: Finally arrived at my area at about 12:30 P. M. Fishing in 3-6 feet of water, patience was certainly necessary. Used a drop shot rig with wacky rigged Senkos, natural colors. Best five a bit over 20 lbs. Two huge monsters spit my offering out after running with it for awhile. Nice, peaceful fishing, just the way I like it.
      City: Esparto

Tips: Use 8 lb floro. , strong dropshot hooks and keep moving with the current. Think East side and become friends with cattle!

Report: Turkey Shoot yesterday and there was a good amount of fish caught. I personally caught 1 keeper on a jig and caught a ton of dinks on dropshot and splitshot rig. All baitfish colors. Fish were spitting up tons of baitfish. Definitely the technique to use. I was told spinnerbaits and shakey heads produced well also.
      City: Plumas Lake

Tips: We marked tons of fish very deep up to 60/70 ft but found stragglers in 20 to 10 ft.

Report: Launched out of Buckley Cove in Stockton on Wednesday and B&W on Thursday. Found LM fishing tough. Tried everything. Had no luck with Stripers in the Stockton Turning Basin. Caught and released a few keeper stripers in Franks and 14-mile slough on minnows, 3 1/2" fish traps, and green/chrome spoons. Caught and released a 8-pound salmon in 14-mile on a fish trap.
      City: Novato

Tips: The LM bite was off. We didn't see any stripers activity in the eastern half of the Delta, so you just have to search them out with a hit and miss plan. There was some bird action, but it was sparce.

Not much of a flipping bite for me, tried jigs and creatures. The cold front and blue bird skies seemed to really shut the bite down. Got off the water round 5 my best five probably only went like 8 pounds.

Report: For everyone reacting to these morons who are jerkin' everyone's chain...they're just trying to get you to react, makin' up stupid stories about going fast in the deadly fog. Please don't react anymore....we all know what safe and sane is and they actually do too. if they were really going that fast, we'd already be reading about the emt's and divers pulling their worthless bodies out of the delta. 415bass...thanks for posting your report!
