Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Went to Selmac and water was very clear. I got to the lake a 9am and left at 6pm and the weather was great. I caught only 3 fish but one was just under 5lbs and the others were 13and 14". I had to fish very slow and make long casts because you could see bottom up to 6ft deep.
      City: central point

Tips: Anyone know when they are going to add the other southern oregon lakes to the website???

Report: I took my two boys and we went to our favorite spot on the East Cove. After about two of hours of nothing, my oldest and I saw a large fish swimming near the dock. I thought it was a bass os I decided to bust out with a jig and a red yamamoto. After the second cast, I landed a 6 1/2 lb trout. Blown away. I thought it was a bass. Great day of fishing.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Boy -- What a change since last week, Launch parking was already holding card at 6:15 with more coming in behind me. Temps were nice light jacket weather with a wee bit of a chill but it was nice. Started off near Vasquez on a small point tossing a Osprey swim with no takers, switched to a jig around 20 foot drop offs and managed a small 2 pounder. Tossed a Norman diver crank without any hits so worked on size and color and depth but still no takers. Senkos wasn't a good choice so pulled out the drop. Hit on the first cast with a healthy 3+ then another a few minutes later with a bit more weight on her then a third about 1/2 hour later in the same weight. Must have been maybe 9:30 or so and it just went flat. Wind was down considerably today and it was nice not to fight the boat. Talked with threwe guys that said they were hitting on rip baits tossed close to the banks. Tied on a rip and did the same with a nice 4-1/2 for my effort. Stayed with the rip until leaving at 22 as the bite just went away. Sun came out and I shed the coast and parka. Was great to feel the sun.

Tips: Go slow around rock walls and points. Water temps are coming up and fish should start to get shallow soon.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

      Report: Carp.
Nicascio was alive with'em today. Went to snoop for crappie but could not concentrate on those with pods of 5-25 carp criusing by at very regular intervals.
A #16 very dark woolybugger produced a few as did a clipped chart deerhair w/ CDC or marabou palmered thru it #8 top-water bug built like a wooly worm.
Danged interesting to watch'em spook from bird shadows. Acres of'em. :-)
Never did find any crappie... :hmmm
Will the bass be far behind?

      Water Temp: 54

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: I fished Pardee for only my second time - on Wednesday. I was looking for a nice smallmouth obviously, but spend a lot of my time metering and just looking around. I started about 11 am and quit about 5:30, fishing mostly in the river arm. I found the daytime to be deadly slow, but went back to some areas that looked good in the late afternoon. Sure enough, my first cast with a Rodstrainer jig produced a smallie almost 2 1/2 lbs. Immediately caught another about 2 lbs. I then dumped a good one between 3 and 4 lbs that looked to be a largemouth. Sure enought, I soon caught a largemouth a little over 2 lbs. I missed about 3 others. Wow, was it fun to fish a different lake.
      City: Yuba City

Tips: I plan to return soon - I love the challenge of a new lake. I used a lot of techniques, including split-shotting with 6 lb test, but only had a bite or two during mid-day. Lots of lake to learn! I probably should have fished deeper.

      Water Temp: 50+

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Today I fished with a Trophy Hunter from Burney. He called and said he wanted a big smallie to put on his wall along with his 14 lb Rainbow, 11 lb. Brown, 70 lb. King etc. I told him that chances were good but we'd have to take pics and measurements and he'd have to have a replica made. That was fine with him.
We met at the ramp and headed for my very best " Hot Spot". NADA! Next best hot spot, NADA. Well, pretty quick it was lunch time and nothing to show but a few dinks. Now comes the moral to the story, " Good things come to those who wait." We head back to spot #1 and a 3.25 smallie lands in the boat. First good keeper of the day. Shortly another smallie near 3 comes to the net. Guides nightmare turns to an OK day. An hour or so later client says my 2 favorite words. " FISH ON " This time it's a 4.60 smallie! Mission accomplished! Thanks Mike for not giving up and being so patient. I have no idea what makes Trinity so tough occasionally, when the weather is consistent, conditions are the same as yesterday, but they just won't go. We saw a lot of fish cruising the shallows where we were fishing so we knew they were there. It just took serious patience to get them to bite. Best thing about today is that I'm on the lake tomorrow and seldom have I seen this tough a bite 2 days in a row. Stay tuned.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: A lot of the locals give me grief about fishing my Gitzits so much, Ask Mike what he thinks.

      Water Temp: 47-51

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Did not get out until 11am, the sun was out and no rain for the day. My boat was rear ended last week when I was towing it. So I wanted to fish but the inspection of the motor and hull was first on my list of things to do. After a run around the lake and a look for leaks the fishing line hit the water with a spinner bait in shallow waters with my first fish weighting 2.1 lbs. So I worked the shallow banks in front of 5% finding mor in about 5-10 feet. Moving around the lake that has came up in the last 2 weeks, my island tops are now to deep to work.

Tips: work spinner baits, crankin along the banks

Report: First day of the season, and it turned out to be a good one. The weather was nice and hot, and had been for the week prior. I float tubed the west end of the perc ponds behind the main lake. I caught 2 bass within an hour and a half. One of them was in the middle of cove, under a downed tree. It was a small 1.5lber. The other was right near shore in less than 2ft of water under a log. I saw it roll over, which made a huge splash

      Water Temp: 48-53

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Another beautiful day on the lake, only this time I caught a couple of fish... The water temp on the main body of the lake was mostly 48 degrees, but in the coves it was 53.... Caught the first fish (a largemouth) on a shallow Rick Clunn crankbait in white/purple... The next fish (a smallmouth) came on a topwater back in a cove (I wouldn't have even thrown a topwater, but I bought a couple of Lucky Craft Sammys, and I wanted to see how they worked).... Ran into a couple of guys in a Tracker boat, and they said they had caught a LM & a SM too.... Met another guy in a ?Triton? (can't remember) and he said he had been throwing everything at them with no sucess..... It was a SLOW day, with only two bites, but better than I have been doing lately... Any day on the water is a GOOD day...

The largest was a 7.6 lbs caught on a Plastic Grub. most of the fish were small males. All the fish were caught between 4 and 15 ft in the submerged brush. The lake is way up. I found a few bed fish. This lake is going to bust loose soon.

      Water Temp: 59.5

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Went all the way up Putah Today. Me and my partner got into them pretty good. Most fish up shallow in 2-5 feet of water. There was alot of current coming in the river which helped us out. Caught fish on Blades, Cranks, Rip baits, Jigs and some worms. Reaction fish up shallow were then better fish. Caught about 25-30 fish in 4 hours during the morning. Best fish was a 3.71 Smallie. All fish averaged about 2.5lbs. best five was about 14.5 lbs. Tryed the afternoon bite out in the main lake but not much going on. Caught a couple of dinks dropshotting and dragging plastics. No reaction fish main lake.
      City: Castro Valley

Tips: Get up the creek early. Lots of pressure as the morning wore on. If the current is rolling, the fish are there. Good Luck

      Water Temp: 56-60,late afte

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Quick report which will not be too detailed as I too will be "fun" fishing the Future Pro event this Saturday. I was alone today and did not start till 10:30 am, Had a limit by 12:00 and then it shut down like someone turned a light switch. Did not catch another till 4:pm. Best 5 went 11.7lbs, and I caught a total of 12 keepers and a couple dinks.
      City: Carmichael

Tips: The fish are really scattered again as last week I caught fish from 3 feet to 25ft. The water temp hit 60 in the after noon and with a week of sun and highs to 75 she could really turn on by saturday. The usual worked, C-rig, senko's , Rip baits, Jigs, nata on blades but it was a high pressure blue bird type of day. Should be some good weights next saturday. Vence puts on a good circuit and it should be a lot of fun.

      Water Temp: 52-57

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Most of the better temp was up north, the bass were not any better. With this warmer werther coming in and staying all week until the Furture Pro Tour Tourament starts, we will have better fishing and maybe some going to the beds. I went out of Markley Cove and fished in the Narrows for a short time waiting for the fog to lift. Most of the bass were on the sides of points, starting to move back. Sometimes casting a jig might be to big, a small worm or lizard works for the small fish. Drove all over the lake watching the temp and the best water was the North/West side. Smallies and spots are everywhere from 1.3-2.2 lbs. Good luck.

      Water Temp: cold

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: fishing is still good, but with the clear weather and sunny skys it was a bit slower. Cranking ripbaits and small tubes were the main baits we used. Most all our fish came off main points on the main part of the lake, no to many in the back of the coves or into the arms but a few. Fish were scattered from the bank down to 50 feet no real pattern. Lost a few fish that felt really healthy, nothing in the boat over 1 1/2 lbs.

Tips: i am going to try collins real soon maybe this week
