Del Valle Lake
-
Water Temp: 56-58
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Water level is steady at low pool now..Weather Sunday was miserable to say the least with cold winds gusting to 30+mph..Started off in the am with reaction baits and caught three quick smallmouth of no size..I then started looking for bait in cuts and boated a couple of spoon fish in the 40' range but again just keepers. We then parked on some deep points with plastics and caught numbers through out the day with two nice fish close to four for my guest..wind died around 330 making for a pleasant ending. Larger plastics on the drop shot worked best. Find some fish on deep bait and they will pop a spoon too. Just hard to stay with the spoon fish with the wind we had. Most fish caught in 35-40. With an occasional deeper fish in 50+.
City: San JoseTips: Some BIG solitary stripers moving around. If your in the right place at the right time you can hang a slug on a topwater bait so keep one handy. Or if you have the stamina to throw a big plug ALL day you have a good chance at getting bit.

Kaweah Lake

Water Temp: 56
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: On water @ 8:30 and started drop shotting the dam around the grate. Caught some dinks along the bank, then headed Down the bank to the North. Fish were graphed @ 20-25'. We caught a few fish that went 1.5 lbs on drop shot and a bunch of other dinks. Some largies were caught, but mostly spots. Fished greasy cove for a bit and pulled a few more 1.5 ers from some stumpy banks @ 30 feet of water. Caught a few fish on jigs also.
City: TehachapiTips: Drop shot purple 4" straight tail FATSACK worms. Also purple jigs on shear walls. Weather was great....Get out and fish!

Merced Lake
-
Water Temp: NA
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Not a report; I am wondering how the fishing is at Lake Merced for bass? I have never fished it, usually spend my time at south bay lakes. Is it worth the effort? Do people nail some decent bass here? Pattern and lure suggestions, hot spots? Any info. would be most appreciated. Looks like the reports are very mixed: some people catch bass here, others say it is the worst lake around. If you can clear the water (no pun intended), let me know.
Thanks

Pine Flat Lake

Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: We arrived about 8:30am went straight to windy gap and fished within 20-48 feet deep. First fish was pulled out of 30 feet 2lb spot. Second fish was a dink, third fish went 2.15lb. out of 23 feet also a spot. Then I pulled a 4 1/2lb. out of 26 feet and also a spot. We left about 02:30pm and I only boated five fish one being a dink. My partner never boated one fish.
City: kingsburgTips: Fish slow and fish were holding on the trees deep. Drop shotting did the trick. We tried jigs, sinkos, split shotting, slow rolling spinner baits, and even silver buddies but no luck on these.

Report: Fished this lake from 8am to 3pm and was targeting the fall catfish. I was fishing the deepest parts of the middle of the lake that I could find and my bait of choice was wax worms. Well the first fish to come was a shaker trout DFG size, second was a three pound trout w/ bugged out eyes from coming out of the deep water I guess. And finally at about 2pm I got my targeted species a nice 2lb channel cat.
City: Daly CityTips: Fished it slow and crank it slow.

Anderson Lake
-
Water Temp: 58-60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Stayed on the main lake all day. The lake is coming up an inch or two a day so they must have just pulled the plug on Coyote up above whatever reason. Fish were in the 10-15 ft range eating jigs until noon or so then my guest and I moved off and caught fish shaking and dropshotting in 25-40..Fish mudlines to catch better quality. My guest for the day had a 5+ come unbuttoned on a jig. Greens and browns for the jigs and shad colored baits for plastics. Boated 20 or so keepers.

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a club fishout saterday the 20th. We lanched out of Sanish flat. The wind was so bad I never left the spanish flat area. My partner Russel and I started fishing at the mouth of capell. I caught two smallies (short of course)on a splitsot purple ghost 4" (Kevkel worm).Russel caught a 16 1/2" largemouth. We fished the long point for about an hour. We then moved to the docks at steel park. We tried pitching jigs and sincos, no good. We started pitching splitshot rigs up too the main walk and draging them out.We caught all our fish on watermelon baby brush hogs.We ended up doing this all day because we were catching fish. Russ ended up winning the tourniment with 13.65lbs and I took tenth with only 3.15lbs. Not bad for hiding out of the wind.
City: san joseTips: There is fish all over the lake, Find some type of structure in about 15' to 35' and fish any of your confedents baits. People in the club caught fish every where and on all different types of baits, the only thing is everyone was fishing 15' to 40' deep. Have fun, be safe and tight lines.

California Delta

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Tough for us on Sat. Got a decent striper on a Blade and got a few other small largemouth on traps, blades, and senkos. Couldn't figure out much of a pattern just jumped around and got one here and one there. First fish was the striper so thought we were gonna do good even with the conditions. Windy as heck but still fun.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Boy what a cold and windy weekend! After finishing a number of errands around the house and talking with a couple of striper fisherman trolling in Disco Bay behind my house I decided to spend about an hour trolling for stripers on Sat. With the high winds and high pressure system most people I spoke to were having a difficult time catching fish (especially the live bait fishermen). With this in mind I decided to troll a 3/4oz rat-l-trap in chrome/blue/bleeding shad on 12lb Yo-Zuri behind the boat. After about the first circle around the lagoon behind my house I was able to hook up with a nice 2lb striper off a point. I then proceeded to hit a couple of other sloughs with no so much as a bite for about an hour. Then on my way back home I went past the same spot I caught the first one and hooked up with a striper in the 8-10 lb range that I lost at the boat along with my rat-l-trap. Next time I

Water Temp: 51-53
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Spent part of the morning in the fog waiting for it to lift, while fishing in Disappointment near Paradise Point. Finding the tide on a incoming move we started fishing on the outside of the weed line at tule points. We found 3ft dropping off to 20ft on these points in current. It seems that the bass were sitting on top waiting for the bait fish. We found some bails of bait, but no strippers around. Moving into White slough later cranking, worms, spinners and senkos finding more small bass. We were fishing a small tourament with Basin Bass Masters of 12 boats, big fish was a 4.56, big bag 10.8?. Not a big day but fun in the delta with friends. The winds started up about 1pm.
City: rocklinTips: fish slow, use big line and hooks, dark colors in dark waters, senkos, worms and lizards work also.

Dixon Lake
-
Water Temp: 61
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Hit up Dixon last Sunday, fishing out of a rental row boat. I went with my buddy and we planed on fishing dropshoted plastics in 25-30 feet of water off bass point. After about 45 minutes of fishing I finally hooked up, but it was a dink 11". Fished for another hour or so with one more bite. We both decided to switch over, my friend switched to a carolina rigged watermelon black flake gitzit. And i switched to a texas rigged 8" bluegill colored plastic worm and begun fishin again. With in the next our my buddy got three fish on the gitzit. "alright after this cast im switching!" and then bamo an unexpected tap tap i set the hook and hes on. With in the next 30 seconds into the fight he came up and spit it. That fish was at least 8+. That was the last fish of the day.
City: VistaTips: The fish are holding deep in at least 25-30 feet.
Carolina rigged Gitzit seemed to account for most fish but if you want a big un fish the big baits!
