    Water Temp: 59

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Started in Elizabeth. Nada. The cove is only about 200yds deep. The lake is down about 80'+- and still dropping.
We found fish in Old SS Cove, on rocky points.
It started to rain hard, so we left at about 12:00 We had a limit of about 10lbs.
    City: los angeles

Tips: Watermelon black flake is a good color right now.
We caught on spider jig, drop shot, and jig worm.

    Water Temp: Cold

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Water is still falling pretty steadily. Castaic is starting to look like mini Lake Powell! Kind of cool though cause if you wait a week to fish it's like a brand new lake! Fishing is still good, guided there three times in the last week. We have been catching 10-15 solid largies and striper at will. When the water stops falling it is going to go bonkers..
    City: Simi Valley

    Water Temp: 68

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Got on the water about 8am after arriving a little after 7 and then waiting in line. I hadnt been to Castaic for nearly a year so I ran down toward red clay, which had 3 boats on it already so I just started running bank on opposite shore. Saw stripers pushing bait in a cove so we got in the middle of it and had a blast catching them on topwater, rattle traps, and rip baits. They would push shad up onto the bank every 10 min or so. Kept a bunch for dinner, they were 3-5 lbs size. The shad were the bigger size, about 3in.

We switched over to bass fishing after the sun got high and the boils subsided. We managed a handful of small bass on worms and rip baits but never did find a decent pattern or area.

Water had a healthy green stain and visibility was around 3-4ft. Weather was clear and sunny with gusty wind. Sonar showed lots of activity around main lake and secondary points, looked like gangs of stripers at 30-35, bass at 20-22, and bait at 8-15. I spent quite a bit of time dragging worms in 15-25 but could not get any of the marks to go.

Lake level is low, not sure how far down, looked like 40' or so, and many of the "normal" spots are high and dry. I saw very very little brush or aquatic vegetation in the water. Reminded me of severe drought conditions.
    City: Thousand Oaks

Tips: Have a walking bait, rattle trap, rip bait or some version of a shad tied on in case the stripers start to boil. When they get going it can be really fun

    Water Temp: 82 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Up at Castaic 9:30 - 6:00. Hot few breezes. Not much action until after lunch. Thunderstorm clouds later in day. Kept throwing the ol' white spinnerbait, didn't even tie on any soft plastics. Quite a bit of bass chasing shad all over the lake. Did best near main lake shorelines. Storm wind was from north in P.M. Able to 'cast to boils' then wham!! Went over to Firebreak Cove and caught 4 3 lbers casting to boils. Ended up with total of 8 bass mostly chunky 3 lbers. Caught a couple small stripers too. Have Fun out here !!
    City: Oak Park

Tips: Bass chasing shad/fry pattern ... best near grass beds and main lake shorelines. Spinnerbait still working pretty good.

    Water Temp: 80 Degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Castaic Friday 9:30 - 5:30. SW Winds 20mph forecasted never happened. Some breezes. Stuck with spinnerbait fishing all day. Ended up with 7 keepers. 2 - 4 lb, 3 - 3 lb., 2 - 2lb. These fish were a lot meaner than what I have been catching past few weeks. Thought they were all stripers the way they hammered the s.b. and tore off toward parts unknown. All caught on white skirt silver willow leaf.
    City: Oak Park

Tips: Fish main lake wind blown shorelines and 'cups' that make easy ambush locations for bass. Didn't have much luck in backs of coves. Also, target stick ups near off color water. If you see fry jumping around you are in a good spot. Have fun!!

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Fished Castaic from 7-1:30 today. Good conditions, with good fog until about 10:30. The fog kept most of the skiers off the water until later. Good breeze later on in the day, but you have to have some good boat control! Ended all inall with 6 fish, 4 bass and 2 stripers. Biggest was a nice 3.5 largemouth, on a Pointer 100 in a little cove near Old SS.
    City: Pearblossom

Tips: Fish reaction early on. Topwater will get some bigger fish usually, as will rip baits and blades. Otherwise, go split and drop shotting. Good #s of smaller fish for the drop shotters, if you want quanity over ouality. Wind and skiers are making for mudlines all across the lake. Staysees and blades in the line where clear and mud meets, and Senkos or dark T-rigs if they won't hit reaction.

    Water Temp: 67 degrees

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Fished Castaic Sunday. Forecast said winds NNW 10-20 mph. Lots of boat traffic. Cool in the morning with some wind. Picky worm bite 5-20 ft. Oxblood. Worm fishing is so boring. By lunch time I had two fish, one dink and a 2 lber. By 1:30 lake was totally calm. Lookin' grim. At 1:45 wind came up out of NW. Picked up chart spinner bait. No takers. Lots of just hatched fry near bushes. Switched to white spinner bait with translucent green/blue in skirt. A 4 lber smacked it big time. Continued to fish near walls with hanging bushes. Bite got better. Fish were just nailing that spinner bait. Quit at 6:30 .... ended up with 14 bass. Only one dink hit spinner bait. Rest were all cookie cutter 2-4 lbers. Lots of fun. Great day considering boat traffic.
    City: Oak Park

Tips: IF you get wind start throwing reation baits around hanging bushes. Later in the day it doesn't seem to matter. Fish came up from 10 feet to surface.

Report: Fished the upper lake today. Lake has come up ten feet in a week. Lots of fish suspended. Tough bite. Fish haven't move up, or, if they started, they're suspending now. Probably due to the fast rising water. Three bites, one fish.

    Water Temp: 65

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water around 7:30 am - extremely fogy. 3 of us in the boat. Started off with topwater and ripbaits - nothing. Went back into Elizabeth - nothing. Checked with other boats - no bites. After fog burned off around 9 am, decided to net some shad; afterward, hit some main lake points in the Fish Arm - bass stacked in 10-25 feet of water. Caught about 15 - all bass had fat bellies and were 2-4 lbs. Netted more shad and headed to the very end of the Ski Arm - main lake points loaded with bass. Caught another 15-20 bass - seemed smaller 1.5 - 2 lbs. Called it a day after catching and releasing a 5 lber. Off the water around 2 pm.
    City: Santa Clarita

Tips: Spotted a lot of bass shallow in 2-5 feet along shore while hunting shad; seemed active and ready to hit a shad imititation (???). Work hard for 5 bites throughout day or net shad and learn a lot about how suttle a bass bite can be. Even fishing shad, you learn tons about how important it is to be a line watcher. Half the time, you don't even know they took the bait, unless you saw that slight line twitch.

    City: Culver City

Tips: Alot of bait in the water, match the bait.
