Report: Got on the lake at about 6:45 and started to use Zara spooks (puppy) in the coves but only got one bass about 3 pounds. So my buddy and I thought the water temperature would be good for crankbaits, but we only got 2. So when i looked over at my buddy he was using some weird looking Yum bait its supposed to be a great flipping bait and i think its called yum woolie hawg or something like that and it was in the watermelon color. His first cast he caught a nice 4 1/2 pounder, so i immediatly switched over to the texas rigged bait. The first few minutes of me using the bait i got a huge 6 pounder!! So we ended up catching 8 big fish for the day.

Tips: When fishing fast moving lures and nothing is working, switch over to soft plastics along the same areas where you previosly used your fast moving lures and see the results!!

Report: Fished lagoon. Bite was very slow. I missed the morning bite by ariving at 8, but don't think it would have made a difference. Encountered lots of weeds. Fished shallow, fished deep, fished slow, fished fast, split shotted, drop shotted, through cranks, through spinners, all with little luck. Caught two small fish split shotting Fat Sack lightning shad on the dam. Graphed stacks of schooling fish at 35 feet but couldn't get them to bite. Other boaters I talked to had the same report.

Spotted lots of bait fish and fingerling bass.
    City: Tehachapi

Tips: Post reports. Those of you reading this benefit from the posts, allow other to benefit from your fishing. Avoid the lagoon, fish Fat Sack.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: On the water at about 9:00 a.m. Went into the first cove in the fish arm and caught some decent fish on drop shot (3" Fat Sack Clear lightning shad). Went all the way back in to the shallow water of the cove and started catching buzz bait fish. Threww the buzzbait all the way down the bank and caught a couple good fish. More drop shot fish came around noon. Hard to throw the split shot because the fish are biting the lead on the way down!

    Water Temp: 75-80

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: My buddy and I went out on a weekday and the lake was quite busy. We started out fishing coves; and using zara spooks. Caught the bass in the back of the coves where there was sand and weedbeds. At about 9 bite slowed down and we started to use rapala jointed shad rap's and we ended up catching 7 nice 2-5 lb. bass. Look for the water depth to change dramatically (dropoff), at this time of the year the bass will use this type of structure for a transition period, throw your lure parallel to the break and be ready!
    City: castaic

Tips: Use small topwaters in the morning, and when using the cranks, match the size and color to the baitfish, and bring them in S.L.O.W.

Report: This report is for Lower Castaic!!! Very slow bite now that the water is warming up. Fish are surficing but topwaters for some reason are not working, use 6-7 inch roboworms either Texas or split shot rigged in about 20 -40 feet of water and bass are bitting the worms HARD. If you choose too drop shot, use the 6 inch aarons magic or oxblood red flake and just let it sit still. Good luck!!
    City: Castaic

Tips: Use soft plastics and fish them slow!! I fish this lake just about every other day, I fish in a bright orange bighorn float tube and come say hi if you see me on the water!! Good luck

Report: Lately I've ished Lake Castaic, the lagoon area at night rom about 9pm-12am, and been catching only trouts ranging rom small to about 2lbs. I've noticed that some days the trouts are biting early in the night (8p-10) and at other times they are biting ater midnight. Trout ishing at Castaic is pretty good right now, most o the times my riends and I are catching 5-20 trouts per night.
    City: Los angeles

Tips: I suggest you gear up or trout, size 14 treble hooks with power bait(yellow-rainbow) and ish rom the shore line because they are close to the shore most o the times. Also ish your way up the shore be constantly on the move until you ind the spot where they are biting. Boat launch ramp is a good place to start your ishing night.

    Water Temp: ?

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Tried soaking anchovies or striper in the morning with no luck. Started looking deep into coves. Saw many bass stacked up deep in coves. Some bass still showing "spawn-like" behavior, aggressively chasing anything that swims into their area, except my bait. Tried worms and grubs and got them to look hard but they would not take it. Can someone help me?? What else could I try to make them bite? Managed to scratch one small bass on a purple worm.
    City: La Crescenta

Tips: Back in the coves, you need to use some sort o plastic due to all the underwater grass. Cast and retrieve is no good.
