Report: STARTED MY DAY AT 5:30AM AND BOATED 19 KEEPERS LARGEST ONE AT JUST 4.2LBS BUT THAT DID NOT BOTHER ME AT ALL. ALL WERE TAKEN AROUND DUCES BOAT DOC ON GOLD BLADED SPINNER BAITS. FIRST TIME ON BASS LAKE BUT IS WAS A MESS OF FUN. MY STYLE WAS VERY SIMPLE SLOW ROLLED SPINNERE OVER ROCK PILES AND UNDER DOC COVER THIS PRODUCED MANY FLASH STRIKES. I GOT MAYBE 6 FISH RIGHT AFTER THE BAIT HIT THE WATER. IF YOU GET A CHANCE TAKE YOUR KID AND YOU DO NOT REALY NEED A BOAT TO GET THE JOB DONE THERE.
      City: OAKLAND

Tips: GOLD BLADE SPINNER BAIT WITH CHARTRUESE SKIRT WORKED VERY WELL FOR ME. AGAIN IT IS IMPORTANT TO RETREIVE SPINNER AS SLOW AS POSSILBLE WHILE BANGING SOME STRUCTURE AND BOTTOM ALONG THE WAY.WATER IS ONLY 4-13 FEET AROUND DOC AREA 3/8 OUNCE WILL OD THE TRICK.

Report: Fished Castaic today. Saw some wind driving up. Called the lake. Open but high winds .... might close. I made a bee line up the freeway and up to the entrance. Checked in and got on the water okay. White caps in the ski arm. Some boats not bad. Fished the windy ski arm. All wake boarder types over in less windy fishing arm. Caught four 2 lbers by lunch time off the west walls with clear / deep water. Used white spinner bait willow leaf. A/C tourney boats around but not many. Called the lake office ,,, lake closed due to high winds... Alright!! no more boats launching. Blade bite got better later in afternoon. Ended up with 8 fish to 3 lbs. Lots of fun. High pressure settling in now. Unusual to be the only boat in the entire ski arm at 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon.
      City: Oak Park

Tips: Have some fun out there. Supposed to be really hot weather next couple of days.

Report: The water has really cleared since our irst day out there. On Monday the 18th trout were stocked most likely or the last time until this all. We saw one smaller striper landed at the dam, but no real crazy action because o the plant. The most signiicant action in the water right now is the larger bass are very ocused on slashing into large bait balls o bass ry! Very nice sized ish, however getting them to hit ANYTHING else is VERY tough! The small guys will hit the little plastics, but getting the really nice sized bass (I could see 3-8 lbs bass slashing the bait balls) is just plain tough! I the water gets dirty again then you might be able to ool the bigger guys, but with the gin clear water....ugh!! I did talk to one isherman who was out on the water early, (right at the park opening) and he said that he did very well with live nightcrawlers. I however, did not do well with that tactic. I was doing an average o 10 bass at about 1 to 2lbs each, or hal a day's ishing on small plastics split shotted on lite 4lbs test, just walking the bank. When the bite gets tough and the water goes ultra clear, this works best or me!
      City: los angeles

Tips: Given the act when the water gets very clear the ishing with artiicials gets to be a very tough proposition! Then with the bass REALLY ocused on those tiny little baby bass bait balls, ugh! Once the ish get o that pattern I would expect that the bigger bass ishing will improve. And yes, I tried small crank baits, pin minnows, small spoons, small mini jigs, etc. As soon as I threw some small lure through the bait ball the eeding bass would just disappear!UGH!!!

Report: Wow! What a dierence a day can make! Sunday the 27th it was cloudy overcast ALL day, but the pressure remained a steady 28.25 all day. Between mysel and a riend we slayed 31 bass!!!! All on small plastics and a split shot on lite line! We started walking the bank at 7:30am and let the lake at 2:30pm. I went back the very next day with two riends and we were only able to score 12 ish between the three o us! It just goes to prove "you should have been here yesterday"!!
      City: Los Angeles

Tips: Overall I would still say your best bet i you WANT to score SOME ish is to go lite and small. Lite line 4 or 6 lbs test, a split shot weight (#5 or #7's) and small 3 or 4 inch plastics in natural greens and browns WILL get you bit! I saw and spoke with a air amount o people out there and a lot o them are doing the wrong things out there or this lake! Too heavy o line, too heavy sinkers and ishing WAY TOO FAST!!!! Go lite, go small, and slow your lure WAY down. Go slow, then slow it down even more x 2!!! Good luck! I you need more ino call me at the shop, Sport Chalet (310) 657-3210 ext. 356. See out on the water!!

      Water Temp: 54 to 56

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Wow, again! What a storm ront! Sunday started VERY windy and settled into an almost summer day by 11:00am. I thought I might have to put on some shorts! 2 ish, very healthy, 2-3lbs each, both on live crawdads. Monday, very lat water and lots o stormy weather just west o the lake, but the bad stu really never hit the lake, just the wind, on and o. Took a client out today, we scored 8 ish, 1 on a live worm and the rest on small plastics. All but the worm caught were small male ish 1 to 2 lbs. The big girls HAVE to be nearby!!! Fished rom 10;00am to 4:00pm.
      City: Los Angeles

Tips: With the small males around I would guess the big ish are just a little urther out and deeper given the wacky weather. Being tenacious and patient and not letting the wind get you down is the secret at this time o the year! Put the keys in the car and just drive!

Report: Wed. Threw top water, jerk baits, and cranks irst thing. No takers. Nothing until mid morning. Then the wie caught the irst ish. (I hate that!) She was split shottin, I was drop shottin. Well a couple ish later (hers) I switched and inally started getting ish. Most ish were about a pound or under. The lake was calm, the weather was overcast and there was almost no one there. So nice we stayed till our and caught about 23 ish total.Friday. Again launched at 7 and did the same thing. Nothing in the morning though the water was so clear we could actually see them schooling and cornering the shad in small coves. I threw my tackle box and the kitchen sink at them! Nothing! We started getting bit around 10:30. This time split shot and drop shot both worked. About 20 ish or the day. The largest only 2.4

Report: Got on the lake at about dawn but the ish didn't start biting till around 10:30 am. My partner and I caught only one each splitshotting a 3 1/2" inesse worm. Then we went to a sot plastic jerkbait and just missed a savage 6 pounder which ripped our bait apart. Caught 2 more on a texas rigged inesse worm.
      City: Canyon Country

Tips: In the all, the shad are pretty big and the bass are breaking their summer eeding slump so a 4" to 5" sot plastic jerkbait like a zoom super luke or bass assassin should produce a ew gnarly bites.

The ish varied rom 10 to 15 inches. All ish were along points or steep rock walls.
