Water Temp: 50 - 51
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Congratulations to Rduzac or big ish o the tournament (which he orgot to mention). Nice ish! Yes, or those o you who like catching ish and aren't concerned about monster bass, Nacimiento can be a lot o un. It was relatively slow or Nacimineto this weekend, but some nice ish were to be had. Water temp was 50 to 51.5 degrees. Weather was incredible or this time o year and great ishing conditions. I had a limit within 1.5 hours and like Rduzac said, you had to be patient and diligent the rest o the day. But give me a day on a lake with SPOTS any day! They are unbelieveably great ighting ish!! LB or LB I'd put them against smallmouths! I caught my ish on a magic worm "lshblue" in less than 10' o water the irst hour o the day "mojo" rig. Ater the sun hit the water I landed several more nice ish in 25 - 30t o water split shotting. I landed over 12 keeper ish with the best going a small 1.78lbs but it ought like a 4lb'er! Give me a spot any day! All o you guys looking or some thing extra or your ishing need to look into joining a club! The Santa Clara Bass Busters is looking or new members and you can have a lot o un and learn alot at the the same time. The guys are great and very riendly. Next month we're doing Lake Orovile, KING o the Spots Lake! See us at IHOPS on Stevens Creek in Cupertion. Check out our web site! www://santaclarabassbuster@homestead.com/sccbbhome.html
City: SunnyvaleTips: hit it early! most action was in the the irst two hours o the dawn!

Kaweah Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Theres a point directly across rom the north end o the dam. I you'll cast close towards the shore and let your rig all you'll be in some kind o obstruction (weeds). It is easy to pull your rig through. Once the resistance is gone ish slowly, even allowing you rig to lay still on occasion, because ater your through is where I caught my biggest ish o the day last time I was out. I believe that may be the best place at this time on Kaweah.
City: VisaliaTips: Lilac worm with black and red lakes is always good at Kaweah.

Water Temp: 56
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I have been ishing castaic or the last ew days preparing or a ABA tourney. On Friday the 28th caught a ew ish on jigs and split shot worms in 15-30 t o water. Metered a lot o ish suspended in 30t. Went back on Sunday the 30th, but this day was tough and cold. A ront moved in later in the aternoon and it rained! We didn't get bite all day and could hardly meter any ish. Moved up to some clis and ound schools o ish had moved into shallow water but would not hit anything we threw at them. So we looked shallow the rest o the day and say so many bass shallow but they all wouldn't hit anything. On 1-5-02, we ished the ABA tourney with 90 plus boats. We got skunked but lwearned that the ish had moved deep water. Guys were catching their ish anywhere rom 40 to 70 t o water on little georges and spoons. The winning weight was around 19 plus pounds topped by a 5.60 pounder.

Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got to the lake about ten a.m. Fished o o points about 40 to 50 eet deep. Caught ive keeper large mouth bass. Then I tried a ledge at about 60 eet deep and got in to some nice crappie. Had to work hard on all spots, verticaly jigging small castmasters and small jigs.Let lake at 2 pm.
City: Arroyo GrandeTips: Use your sonar units, when you get over good signals mark the spot with a small buoy and pound it. Move your spoons up and down smoothly. Use very small jigs and almost don't move them at all, just watch your rod tip or a small tick (set the hook with a large sweeping motion) Good luck

Santa Margarita Lake

Water Temp: 50
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing has been pretty tough lately with the water temp between 50-55 and stained. The water is down about 8' and all the shore weeds are gone. There are still ish to be had at 30' depths on jigs. I've heard o some ish going or the trout plugs and big swimbaits. It seems that alot depends on what day you go and what the weather is doing.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got out to the lake around 9:00 a.m. let at 4:00 p.m. I've been trying to catch one o a pod o big bass (8-12lbs I'd guess)that seem to stage at the same spot every year in December. They are really skittish in about 5 eet o water with close access to deep water. Haven't igured it out yet. I've used live bait, all artiicials, light line, small hook, slowwwwwwwwww presentation, and keeping out o sight. I have had them VERY interested but not take it YET. I am beginning to question my bass ishing skills, or lack thereo. I will catch one this year and I'll keep you posted.
City: Los AngelesTips: Fish slowwwwww.

Report: Dear Mr, Watkins,I you think my story is bogus about ask being to go to another part o the lake or the ilm company on 11/01/01.Beore you contract oot in mouth desease, Why dont you do some research ie;ask the lie guards i they know o any ilming on the lake, particularly on that date, then ask i they have ever ask anyone to move to another part o the lake or ilming.Go to the main gate and ask about their reund policy.Yea Mike, I dont have anything better to do than to make up "B.S." stories.Mike,do you work or the Castaic Water Agency?P.S.In a couple o years, start takeing a can o corn nibblets with you to Castaic.....I hear CARP LOVE IT!
City: Canyon Country,Tips: Ask at the gate when you pay about any ilm production on that day, it may save you the hassle o reloading your boat, going to another lake and shelling out another $12.00 or $14.00 or you can e-mail Mike, mabey he will reund your money.....

Water Temp: 43
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I decided to orce mysel to drop-shop....Was told that the pines resort launch ramp was a good place to launch...NO WAY!......So ater going around to the other side to the launch the day started...I dont ish this lake that much because its not our clubs lake nor is it a B.A.S.S. lake....so I had to start rom scratch..It seemed like the lake was one big lat...once you got to about 25-30t. there was the drop and the ish! They were stacked up like pancakes...just like the books says....bait above and ish below.....the bait was right o the bottom....I put my bait about 18 inches rom the drop shot weight.....ished vertical...and shook .....bite was very subtle....ished or about 4 hours or 7 ish...not bad at all or a winter bite ....
City: FresnoTips: Fish at 25-30 eet...ish were on rock...only got spots...no blacks were ound...nor caught....the smallest ish was 1.8lbs...the biggest was 2.4...or as cold as it was the ish aught hard....be sure to bring a needle along because they are ull o air when you bring them up...I used some hand poured drop shot baits that I made...(shad pattern and light pearl brown w/chart. tail)...the jig bite was also pretty good...my partner caught his on jigs....brown w/black pork.
