      Water Temp: 58

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)

Report: Got out late in the day/morning, I wanted the og to burn o irst to help warm up the water. Launched around 11:00 went to old outhouse cove irst graphed ish (good ish) on some secondary points but could not even get a bite. I was drop shotting (tried ox-blood, purple), using jigs, and crawdad colered cranks. Nothing! I putzed around the lake or awhile looking or signs o lie, noone home. Then I went to the ski arm to the large canyon next to the island. Something said switch to carolina rig, I did! First cast, WHAM a nice 2.7lber emale hit my ox-blood. Then I went back to the same place next cast Wham, one hit it then shook o ater lying up to say hello. I was able to put 2 more in the boat all in 30 min time. Then it shut down.
      City: Castaic

      Tips: Carolina rig.

Only second time to this lake and I really like it.Anyone with some tips or this lake Please e-mail me, Thanks.
      City: Coalinga

Tips: Well I don't know about Carolina rigging in the big rocks, but it seemed to work better than jigs and texas rigged worms. Browns With neon blue, Crankbaits slow moving seems to do the trick....

Report: Fished rom 12:30pm-5:30pm in windy conditions. Started on a point inside the 5 mph markers at the ront o lake. Was using a 4" green and brown salt worm on a Calolina rig. Hooked one at 1:00 in 3' o water. Weighed about a pound or less. Wind picked up a little and made it tough to ish the points. Moved to the back o the lake and ished the rocks. Tried to get a reation bite going, no luck at all. Changed back to Carolina rig and put on a 6" red and black garlic worm with a swim tail. Got two right away in 2'-4' o water. The irst one was 15" and 1lb 9oz and the second one was 16 1/2" and 1lb 15oz. Saw a ew ish on the top on the electronics, tried a Zara spook and had no luck.

      Water Temp: 55-62

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Surace temp o 62 dropped quickly to 55-58 below the surace. This was the day beore the ull moon. Many boats on the lake -- most ishing very shallow or right at the shoreline. I didn't see anyone catching anything on that pattern, so I assumed all the ishing and boat activity in the shallows would push the ish back out to the staging areas. That's where I concentrated my eorts. Thoroughly ished areas rom 5' to 40' on north end o lake (warmest water, and along west side o saddle point -- but to no avail. Bottom line: I didn't ind'em and I didn't see anybody else doing so either.
      City: Monterey, CA

Tips: No action on Power Pulse worms, Fin-S-Shad, jig-n-craw, cranks (shad and crawish), or spinnerbaits, all ished slowly due to cold water. No bites on a stitchin' presentation, either. Very rustrating day, because the big emales should have been (and probably were, somewhere) on a eeding binge prepping or the spawn (..or maybe they were tuckered out rom a night o mating, and recuperating out in the really deep channels.)

      Water Temp: 56-60

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)

Report: Had the best day ever!!!! Caught an 11 lb. 11 oz. at about 8:30, partner stuck an 8 lb. 14 oz. about 11:15. There was a tournament but we weren't in it. Took 18.72 to win it, we would have had about 27 lbs. Oh well. It was still great. The 11-11 was put back, the 8-14 was hooked deep and even though the hook was cut o, she died...darn!!!Went back on Sun., the lake is being dropped again, so ishing slowed.
      City: HANFORD

Tips: Transitional hangouts due to water lux.

      Water Temp: 46

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: First time on the lake. No ish, not even a bite. Talked to a ew locals, no luck or them either. One guy remarked that the water temp was 54 last weekend (Feb 12), so that big drop in temp is probably the reason or the lock up. It was windy!!! The lake looks awesome though, we'll be back.
      City: Hanord

Tips: Wait or the water to warm and the weather to stable out a little. Or just go... beats staying at home thinking you should be ishing.
