Oroville Lake

Water Temp: 53
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Can you say wide open boys and girls?.....I knew you could! Wow, what a day as the action started on the irst cast and although slowing some around 1:PM, the action was ast and urious. Decided to concentrate on the South Fork and irst cast over a point with a crankbait netted the irst ish. Most ish came either right on the bank or up to 10-15' rom bank working a worm or jig. When the hit it, they hit it and altough we had many in the slot, we must have boated over 12 that were over 15". Water was picture perect and smooth as glass which made Senko ishing even more enjoyable.
City: WHEATLANDTips: Although color had no particular bearing, wacky style seemed to produce the most today as the water was so lat. Biggest ish seemed to relate to a brown color while a ew nice ones were caught on a white tube. You threw it, they ate it!

Shasta Lake

Water Temp: 56-60.6
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Ino or Keswick, yes there are some very nice ish in Keswick, mostly spots with some smallmouth, I have never caught a largemouth in there but have heard o them being taken, the trout ishing is usualy good, I can't imagine wading or swimming Keswick as the water temp coming out o the bottom o the dam is usualy around 42 degrees. There are however, some hazards you should be aware o. I you leave the ramp and head upstream you will enter a rocky area about a mile up where you will be in 70t o water, you will also be passing some 69t rocks, the lower part is pretty much hazard ree but upstream is dangerous or those who are not aware o the channel up there. The other problem with Keswick is the thets that occur at the ramp or in the parking lot. Trailers have been stolen, trucks broken into and vandalized. I imagine you noticed that the lot and ramp are out in the "boonies" a bit and some o the local thugs(cranksters) will hit your vehicle without any ear o getting caught due to the remote nature o the ramp and parking area. The ishing is good though and very under utilized. I have caught spots to 3lbs and trout to 10 lbs inthe upper ends o Keswick where the lows are obvious. a threaded nightcrawler in ront o a 1 1/2 inch slinky bounced along the bottom as you drit downstream is deadly. Keep your glass boat at home and use a tin boat unless you REALLY know keswick or you are likely to pay the price.. crankbaits are good but jigs ished on the bottom are not so hot as you will be winding in a lot o grass with anything that spends a little time on the bottom.

Water Temp: 55
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Started at Konocti, ished all night, caught just enough ish to keep us going, some 4s, some 5s, using zippers, and powerworms 10 inch, then watched the sunrise, ished till 11 am, got o the boat, andcould barely walk, somekind o weird motionsickness. Ate breatast elt better, wantedto go out somemore but used common sense andwent home to sleep. Clearlake is way bad.I mean that in a good way.Something unny happened to me about a monthearlier, I was ishing in niece with a partner or a club tourney. He had cast around this dock and was ixing a rats nest, and I was circling around the other side. I cast in saw my line move and set the hook. The ight was great until I looked over at mypartner who said whoa we doubled up. Fiveseconds later ater some serious loomis tugging I reeled up enough to see our gamagatsus were caught on each other.
City: angwinTips: I ound the bite to be tough, all these guysare using live bait, not my bag, there weretons o pelicans, tons o shad in certaincoves, and I wish it was October when I was ishing at night with my black light inmy shorts and short sleaves. Oh well, springsa comin.

Water Temp: 54
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: A client and I started ishing the lake Friday about an hour beore dark. In less than an hour we had our in the boat - using jigs - with the biggest at 4 lb 13 oz. We were ishing rocky areas along the hwy 20 side. Ater dark we worked our way to the south end o the lake and ound a lot o biters, but not too many swallowers! We had short strikes rom small bass to be sure, but I think some were rom quality bass that just wern't very hungry. Worms seemed to produce bites better than jigs ater dark. The best ater dark bass was a 3 1/2 pounder and a hot 5 lb 1 oz bass that took a 6 inch zipper worm. We landed a total o 10 bass with the ive biggest about 16 1/4 lbs. I'm not very proud o that, but I elt we did well since the bass just arn't eeding much at night as in previous years. In addition to the trophy bass population decline, the baitish explosion has caused the bass and catish to eed heavily during the day and I guess they are just too tired and stued to do much at night. It will be interesting to see i that changes soon, as the water temp is about 5 degrees above normal or Dec 1st. I will be there to ind out. Stay tuned!!!
City: Yuba CityTips: The baitish seem to be heading or deeper water, at least at night. I even saw some schools on the meter that were right on the bottom o the lake. The carp were rolling good most o the night and the bass seemed to be active but not aggressive. None o our hits were the normal all smashing jerks. The weather was cold but stable - I really thought we would do better. I really think there will be a period where the night bite will turn on, but the water temp has to cool o a ew degrees. All o our ish came on rocky areas with a good dropo.

Report: Water is very low. Fished main lake points with rock. 3/8 oz. jigs in brown and drop shot 4" Keeper Custom Worms in #1064. Lots o small ish, largest spot was 1.3 lbs. Five ish limit would have been about 5.25 lbs. Still looking or the bigger ish, they're here just have to look or them. Seems like these ish are roaming alot looking or schools o shad. Lots o shad around though.
City: Paso RoblesTips: Fish slow and hard.

Soulajule Lake

Water Temp: cold
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out this aternoon and threw a rattletrap or awhile and nothing happening. Switched over to the jig(1/2oz Weapon-blk,blu,purple with a brown piece o senior Super Pork)and caught three good ish. The irst ish(6lbs) was caught way in the back o a point with rock in about ten eet o water. I cast out deep and slowly worked it back up the hill. Then on my way back I caught two more at the dam. Both ish about three pounds each according to scale. All ish had ull bellys and big. I couldn't believe the big one only weighed 6lbs because he was huge. I'll take it because it was looking really bad until I switched to the jig.
City: PetalumaTips: The ish were not in chase mode today, so you gotta slow it down big time. Cannot beat a jig this time o year. Fish it slow and make sure you're banging into rock. No rock, no ish. All ish came o points. All you need out there is a jig now. The number o ish might be down, but the size is deinitely gonna increase. Big brushhog might work also. I you want numbers ish the dropshot setup. Think sloooooowwwwwwwwww and you will catch ish.
