Report: Fished Hook tourney on Sunday. Very oggy. Ran to Coney Island ishing on rocks, got one keeper and a bunch o dinks on baby brush hogs. Ran up to Union Point with one dink no keepers. Ran to Indian slough at about 1:30 and got our second ish about 3 pounds. That put us at 4.84 or the tourney and 39th place. Not great, not horrible. Right where we should be. (First year ishing the Delta) Fish slow and use and ringworms and other small plastics in dark colors in muddy water and lighter colors in clearer water.
      City: Vacaville

Tips: By the way, Dave Reggeti, o Turlock. You must not ish the Delta much. Stipers are one o the most exciting species out there. And yes, their ull name is Striped Bass. And this is a Bass website. I dont see what the problem is. You should be lucky to get such great inormation on how to catch these ish. I'll be sure to leave more striper reports rom now on, start paying attention, and you might have some luck out there.Devin

Report: Went with two buddies to check out the hot Oroville bite this past Sunday. Fun, un, un! Ater inding all o my avorite points, humps and creek channels a hundred eet above the waterline, it was time to relearn the lake somewhat. Starting in a historically good area in the South Fork, we immediately located a hump out ront o a small secondary point in 25 eet, dropping into 50 eet on the channel ledge. With bait stacked on the hump, we caught 7 nice keepers in short order - 4 drop-shotting, 2 on a dart-head/4" worm combo and one on a spoon. Ater about 30 minutes, the action died o, so we point hopped or the next couple hours with limited success. We inally moved out to the main lake, and ound a large round point at the mouth o a major eeder creek. The point dropped into 45 eet and was immediately adjacent to a small island. In between the island and point was a "unnel" area where the saddle between the two came up to 8 eet and then dropped to 45 eet on either side. BINGO! In the next our hours we proceeded to catch and release close to 40 bass, most above the 15" slot, but nothing over 17". Most ell or the dart-head/worm combo, but we did catch a ew split-shot and Fluke ish as well.
      City: Elk Grove

Tips: Fish are eeding heavily on schools o pond smelt, so we ished mostly shad colored baits. Anything pearl colored did the trick. Most bites came rom 8 to 40 eet, and shaking the baits really seemed to help. Water in the main lake is approx. 1 degree warmer than the South Fork.

Report: On the water at about 9:00, ished main lake points rom 15' to 35' at the north end o the lake, very slow. Tried drop shotting, split shotting, jigs and spinners. Got one nice smallmouth (about 2lbs.) all day on a spoon along the clis at the south end o the lake. Sunny but it was cooler. Beats work anytime!

Report: Congratulations to the team o Randy McDaniel and Terry Sexton, 11.55 lbs won it and got them a good pay day, it took 9.90 lbs to get a check. Mnay o the guys that normally do well struggled today and the sacks were light compared to a week ago. Bryce and I could not get the rip bite going save or 1 ish that Bryce caught, the rest came on jigs and mostly in the stumps o the lower pit. There were(I think) 58 boats and the big ish was only a 3.68 spot. The weather was great with some wind out o the north but the aternoon saw temps in the mid 60's. Good time had by all, Terry your my hero! Stay away rom small dogs! and that's another story!!!!

Tips: most o ours came on 1/2 oz ootball heads with MGM shasta crawlers threaded in 6-25 t o water, the root beer lavor was the most productive.

Report: Went out o Lauritzen in Antioch Friday looking to land a ew schoolies. Fished by pier and landed about 40 ish up to 18in using jigs vertically and sot plastic shad imitations with 1 ounce lead heads dragged quickly across bottom. Once the tide started to come in went on other side o bridge and drited across the deep drop o and limited out. The biggest went 12lbs with three just under 10lbs. We have ished this spot a ew times and have only seen one boat besides us ish this area. When the tide is right the bigger ones will be there.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Had no luck on topwater or with traps. Everything o size came on Gibbs minnows 2 ounce preerably so you can keep contact with the bottom. Plus they have treble hooks so i you are slow you just might hook them anyway. Blue and Chrome are my avorite color but my buddy likes black and chrome either will catch you ish. I you want lots o ish stay by the pier, i you want bigger ish then ish that visible break on the incoming tide only. Just west o the Antioch bridge.

Report: The bite is a little slow but quality ish. Full winter pattern. Drop shotting in 30' produced several 14"-16" spots and I spooned a 3.5# and 3# largemouth in 50'. This is my third trip in two weeks and I haven't caught a small ish yet. Lots o snags since the trees are just under the water. Erich

Report: Threw a swimbait or 3 hours with only one ollower... a 3 lbs trout! Decided to inesse ish with a 10" worm. Wasn't happening and started to dig through tackle box or next magic lure, then elt a yank yank. Did a back lip setting the hook but missed the "most likely lake record." Spent the rest o the day throwing plastic but to no avail. Saw people catching mondo trout on everything rom power bait, worms, lies and spinners. Oh well, another day, another $21!! $8 day use ee + $7 ishing ee + $6 boat launch ee!! They should apply some o these ees towards ridding the shores o trash and improving the dam road.
