Report: Ater the worst day on Salt Springs, one ish or three guys in seven hours,I put the boat on the trailer at 1:30 and head or Melones. We launched at Angels Cove ramp at 2:30 and the day quickly changed.Noticing that the aternoon winds had been creating mud lines prior to our arrival,we just headed or the irst one we could get to.Spinner bait ish on the irst cast. The bite was on.Proceeded down the bank and they keep coming.Keeper, keeper, then I throw to an isolated tree top behind the boat,4 pounder. Then my brothers put three more in the boat..Then I make a long cast next to a bush tight to the bank.Damn, a quater turn o the reel and a dead stop,a snag?..Well now my line starts moving quickly out o the mud line and I get a glimpse o what seems like a solid six.Now she really turns it on, eels like a all stiper. The big girl rips out twenty ive yards and then comes back ull speed under the boat and right or a tree.Screw this ish,I put my thumb on the spool and pray she dosen't brake me.Well luck was on my side and I turn her and we inally net her,she is a pig.I check my watch and its only 2:50,wow what a stretch o action. We head staight or the ramp, trailer the boat and take her to Glory Hole Sports..She weighs 10.40,ater some pics we return to the ramp at 3:30.She swims right o and we proceed to get right back on them.Great day!!!!

It is no dierent here than shin pond basically. i have a contact through the park district that says trout is all they plan to keep up in the lakes maybe catish in the summer so good luck all the trout isherman. Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: Today was one o those days you dream about or me and a couple o guys who came down rom Ore. For me,a 7-10 largemouth was the highlight, backed up by a 5-10 largemouth and 3 smallies in the 4 lb. range, 15 ish in all. Shortly beore I nailed the big largemouth I watched Chris Carpenter land a 6-8 smallie, which Robert Radbourne so ably netted. Those two guys were on a sweet spot and it was a joy to watch them load the boat. I have no idea how many ish they caught but just while I was watching I'm sure that it was in the high 20's. We got together or a weigh-in and photo shoot in the middle o the river and it was determined that between the 3 o us our best 5 would go over 31 lbs. Darter heads were the key or me. They will have to tell you what was working or them.
      City: Weaverville

Tips: The smallies were moving up and down. I the bite slows in a particular area, don't give up. They'll be back.

      Water Temp: 51-54

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Report: The Bass classics of Santa Clara Valley had there March tournament on the 23 and it was a cold rainy day with a very tough bite had by all 24 anglers. The winning weight was 9.85 lbs caught by Izz Byrd on pink worms and spider grubs on the north end. I had two smallmouths in the spanish flat marina area in the morning on brn worms with cht tails. Then I moved north and cranked a nice smallmouth on a rocky shallow bank back in a cove on a wiggle wart crawdad crankbait. Then we headed up into Putah Creek and back in a cove we found warmer water and a nice 17 1/2 inch smallmouth up shallow and ready to burst with eggs. I was glad our club uses the card system and after measureing this fish we released her back to make her nest. We proceeded to throw shad worms dragged in the creek channel and nailed two more keepers. Then I saw shad jumping and caught a bass on the bank chasing down dinner. The club had a tough time and 9 guys blanked but we had 4 limits and some nice bags of 3 and 4 fish.I ended up in third place with a limit 8.80 lbs.
      City: Fremont

Tips: Spit shotting backs of warmer coves brn worms Cht Tails in morning or dark days, shad colors when the sun comes out. Throw crawdad crankbaits smallmouths love them and this lake should bust loose any day now. There is also alot of locals catching crappie under lights with minnows and mini jigs (red/White)on bobbers.

I had three up to 3.5 lb. beore the winds started and the stained water became downright muddy. Time to ind a tulie clump and take a nap which is exactly what I did. I ound a sheltered area at 6:10 pm and began 30 minutes o heaven. In that 30 minutes I caught 6 ish up to 4.3lb. and none below 3.0lb. All on a black jig with a purple pork trailer, lipping in 1.5 eet o water. I lost 2 more clones that gave me back my jig at the boat, with no help rom me. I can only think that a pod o ish moved in or one thing, eating and I was in the right place at the right time. Total or the day 11 ish , top ive weighed 17.5 lb.
      City: Sacramento

Tips: Keep moving around and some days can be long and hard, hopeully i we put our time in everything comes together- at least some o the time.
