Water Temp: 74
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out or a un trip w/ some riends rom work that don't ish much (my irst guide trip - HAR HAR). Cranked rip rap irst thing in the morning in Taylor & Piper (shoulda seen the three o us throwing cranks up the bank at the same time - what a calamity - no injuries though). Seemed like alot o 1-2 lbers in the area. Ater 5 - 6 ish, moved to Sandmound area. Spinnerbait bite was good rom ~ 8 - 10 Am. Ater that, the wind really picked up and orced us o our spots. Tried lippin' some new areas w/ various plastics without much luck. Fun day, but not much size. WHERE HAVE ALL THE MATS GONE?
City: Castro ValleyTips: No topwater bite early. Cranks were best early (1/8 oz Speed Traps - tough in the wind). Once wind picked up, spinnerbaits seemed to work better (wht/chart). With the high tide in the morning, ish were REAL shallow. Good numbers available right now, just no pigs. Fish more!!

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out o B&W around 5:15am on Sunday. Worked the Mukolume with no early success. Tried buzzbaits and spooks to no avail. Had some success earlier in the week cranking but that too was not working. Picked up my blade rod and started catching ish right away. White skirts and willow lea blades seem to be on the menu this morning. Caught several ish to 3.5 lbs up until aroun 10:30 when our blade bite slowed. Picked up a ew more cranking but no size. Started pitching t-rigged plastics to wood and isolated weeds. Caught several nice bass to 3.5 lbs and a irst or me a big smallmouth. My buddy actually caught the ish but to both o our surprise it was a smallie...they do exist in the Delta! We ended up with 18lbs or our best 7 and we had a very good numbers day.
City: SuisunTips: Concentrate on ishing all new water...some was productive and some not. Found several areas that get no to very little ishing pressure.

Report: weent to Jones valley at 610pm, got in line and the guy ahead o me backs down and THEN spends 15 minutes pputting his stu in the boat. He inally gets it in and it won't start and now he sitting sideways across the ramp, I put in and he continues to just sit there and the guy behind me inally loses it and walks down. I though oh oh here it comes but he walks up and calmly unties the guys line rom the loat and pushes the boat away. Boy i wish I would have done that! I get going over to brushy canyon to meet Chad orm Morgan Hill and we hook up and take o with his riend Steve. Right away Steve starts lying ater he boats the irst bass over in Blue Canyon. We move around all evening and pick up a number o ish, about 28 with Chad getting the largest a just under 3 lb spot near Jones Valley Point around 1130pm. Both these guys are accomplished sticks and Cchad and I end up riding Steve pretty hard throughout the evening, air temp going in was 96, coming out at 67 and the lake is down past 76 t and murky, lots o traic early on but things slowed down by sunset, we were all tossing 3/8-3/4 oz jigs mostly dark colored. Tonight the bite slowed when the ul moon got up but picked up again around 1130 pm and was steady till about 2am when I took them home. Had a great time and these two will always be welcome in my boat.

California Delta

Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out o Paradise at irst light and were hoping or a topwater bite. The tide was great with it being very high irst thing and out out going the rest o the morning. This has proved to be our best tide all year so ar. We knew it would probably be a decent early morning bite, ollowed by a slow mid-morning and then a good aternoon bite. This has been the pattern or us ollowing the ull moon. My buddy hooked two right o the bat on a chug bug and I hit 2 on a brush hog. All our ish were 1 to 2 pounds. We then moved on to the Whites area and could not get bit on top, but did get some nice Senko ish. It was a gorgeous morning until 8:30 or so and then the wind started to howl. We managed to get another 5 ish to 2.2 pounds and then headed up to the ourteen mile area in hopes o getting out o the wind. We managed to stay on a good plastic bite late morning thru the aternoon, but were surprised that the reaction bite wasn't better with the wind and good water movement. We got o the water at about 3:30 and had boated around 25 or so with 17 o them keepers. All o the better sh were caught on dark plastics. Our big ish was 3.3 pounds.
City: RosevilleTips: Structure. We really had to be ine with our casts. When we did ind a good structure area or good drop o, we would oten catch 3 or 4 right there. Depth was not as important as the structure. Fish were caught in 6in. to 8 t o water.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out at day break to ish with some buddies. We irst hit up the burner shoreline with plastics and about hal way down the shore I elt a little tap. Without hessitation I set the hook and elt a lot o weight on the other end. The ish went straight or the depths and almost took my pole with her, but I managed to keep her up and lander her beside the boat. The ish ended up weighing 8.3 lbs., my biggest bass at Chabot to date. The rest o the day was very slow, with one o my riends catching a 9" bass, and the other missing a bite.-good luck to all. CATCH AND RELEASE!-TOP NOTCH

Folsom Lake
-
Water Temp: 76-79
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Saturday trying to ind a dierent kind o Summer Folsom Pattern, as every darn rockpile/island top has two or three boats on it. Well that ended ater 3+ hours o rustration. So I went to a solid wniter pattern deep oldroadbeds and ridges it paid o or six keepers and threesqweekers. With an impending club tournament on the horizonI will be a little more tight lipped the next couple o weeks, as there must be a million lookers but not posters on the website HAR HAR!! In some areas the water can be nice and Folsom Clear other areas it is a brown Winter color. Fish are chasing pondsmelt
City: SacramentoTips: I ya have a rockpile that is producing it won't be a secret or long, I will continue my quest or dierent patterns.

Oroville Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went out at 8pm on Thursday night. Couoldn't make it in time or the tourney so we decided to ish the night with the moon the way it was. I did very well on dark grubs. A couple o keepers and around thirty smaller ones. The ish weren't as aggressive as I would have thought only hitting the bait with one tap. I just started setting up on them immediately and it paid o. A lot o un, but would have liked to have caught some bigger ones. Not much top water action to speak o.....my dad got 2 on a pop r and a buzzbait. Water was still very dirty in some spots and it was hard to dierentiate in the dark.
City: ParadiseTips: Dark colored 5 inch grubs in 10-20 eet o water o any decent looking rock structure.

Sonoma Lake
-
Water Temp: ?
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Went ishing on Sonoma Saturday morning with a riend who just got a boat & is new to bass ishing. Picked up a couple o small ish in the AM at the back end o Dry Creek. Then, hit a main lake point w/ weeds. My riend pulls in a 5#, 23" bass @ about 10 AM, then another one o about 1#, both on a natural-colored plastic worm on an old-style double-hook worm rig with a spinner in ront. This ater I assured him that the bite would die by 9 AM.
City: Santa RosaTips: Good reminder to keep things simple. Lures that worked 30 years ago still work today. And don't make too many rock-solid predictions - the bass oten have other ideas.
