Water Temp: 61
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished the ABA with 33 other boats, 66 guys that apparently don't have a computer. I guess they like to read my posts but don't submit theirs so..."I'm not going to tell!" :)
Tips: Keep your eyes down and your lips shut! Wankers!

Kaweah Lake
-
Water Temp: 68-71
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Had a tourny with our club, wind blowing 1st thing and all day. Started cranking in rip rap next to launch ramp, got 3 keepers in boat then flew over to cove with poophouse in it. 3rd cast on main lake point hooked into and landed a 9 lb pig by 7am. Bite slowed way down and some dinks and one more keeper ended our day with a limit and a win for my son and I. The big fish puked up 17 shad in my livewell.
City: BakersfieldTips: Look for the balls of shad chunk and reel, watch your electronics

Water is up to the 1st ramp, really has come up a lot in the last few weeks.

Oroville Lake

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Finally had time to make this report. On May 31st, I took a father and son out to Oroville. The trip was a result of David Beltramo making the highest bid for the trip during the CALIFORNIA WATERFOWL ASSOCIATION banquet held in Paradise last fall. The trip was offered by Paradise Duck Club-Butte Creek Ranch. The trip was extra special in that David had never fished with his dad Tom who is a retired farmer. The trip was a success in that we fished from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm and boated an estimated 50 plus fish. Four fish were over the 15 inch mark and two of them were taken by Tom who had never fished for bass. I rigged them both up with drop shot rigs. It was a pleasure watching Tom and David fish together and having the so much fun. Tom was overwelmed with the beauty of the lake and the wildlife we saw. Also a big Congradulations to JIM CARR who on Saturday won the Chico Bass Club T.O.C. tournement on Lake Oroville.
City: MagaliaTips: Go all the way up the middle fork if you want numbers. Drop shop, Top water, sinkos, rip baits, jigs. They all seem to work.

Water Temp: 67-70
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I had the kind of trip today that I really enjoy - taking a father and son for their first bass trip! I told them that catching a bass over the slot was a little tougher during post-spawn. We started about 7:30 am in the middle fork. As has happened many times before, the 10 year old's second bass was 15 1/2 inches! He looked at me like "what's so hard about that"?!! I told him that "only pros" have trouble catching those. He was using a MMIII 6" Robo worm. We had some wind blowing in the middle fork, not bad, and it helped the fishing. The boy gets another 16 3/8 inch spot and dad gets a 15 1/4 and loses the biggest of the day at 2 PM! I was trying different color Robos to see what was working best and managed a 17 1/2 inch spot on a 6" morning dawn Robo. She was 2-10 - nice fish. We had the typical 40 to 50 fish day and a limit around 10+ lbs. If dad had only got that big one! We caught fish from 5 to 25 feet. Points seemed to hold most of the fish - even in the bright sun, thanks to the wind.
City: Yuba CityTips: One of my favorite areas to fish the lake was holding bass on Sat. They are either there or there're not! I am talking about the vast sandy flats and there are lots of them with the low water. They are usually terraced (look like tiny ledges) and the bass hide in those. The clay banks also produced more for us than boulder areas. Creek channels wern't very good. I showed them how to drop shot a Basstrix Flashtrix minnow and I caught a near 15 incher on the second cast. I'm sure that bite will come on pretty good now. We did not try topwater. One or two bass did spit up crawdads. Jigs, anyone?!!

Water Temp: 64 - 72

Report: Took the new (used) Javelin out for the first time and had a great time. Started in Yorty kind of late 8:30 first fish at 8:41 then a cold spell 10:32 Jim got his and 10:42 Sean made it one each and overall 25 total last one at 6:37. After Yorty we went all the way north and around 4 we headed south. Fish ranged from dink to 2.8lbs. best 5 only 11.8. But alot of fun. Jim and Sean each had 9 fish. 1 on Jig, 4 on Senko, 9 drop shot, 12 BrushHog. Beautiful day with occasional tough wind
City: PacificaTips: Boat was in 20+ for most of the fish and no luck in the back of any coves. All fish were post spawn and need to get fattened up. Lots of fresh fry 1" plus.

Water Temp: great
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished Cottage Grove 3 mornings in a row this week. Fished the west shore only. On the 29th I got a 3 lb., 3 oz. 18" largemouth on a 5" trout swimbait. Lucky to have landed her- just a sliver of skin keeping her on the hook. Weighed her, measured her, took her picture and let her go finish making some babies. She seemed pretty annoyed about being caught. Moved down the bank to a rockier spot and walked up on at least 3 bass. Looked like a 2, a 3 and a 5 pounder all swimming together. They ignored the swimbait and the Storm bluegill crankbait that I dragged by them. The 2 smaller ones lost interest and swam off. I didn't actually see the 5 swim off. Ten or 12 casts later with the swimbait I see her come out from behind a large rock right in front of me. Wish I had a soft plastic of some sort rigged up on one of my rods. She may have been catchable- if that's actually a word.
City: yoncalla, oregonTips: The swimbait thing is kind of a trade off. I could toss a 4" worm on dropshot rig and probably catch a few more (smaller) bass but I'd rather catch one good one with the swimbait instead. It's fun seeing how far you can toss 'em too. Plus some of the followers are awesome to look at- just remember your polarized glasses. Have fun and Go, now, please. You'll be glad you did. Tried tossing a 9" Castaic sinking swimbait for about 10 casts but couldn't hit any bass in the head (And knock 'em out!) so went back to bluegill crank and 5" swimbait.

Amador Lake
-
Water Temp: 66-69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I took myself to Amador to check on the night fishing. Since the mornings have been so cool, I thought the evening and early night bite would be good. Well, part of my theory was good. The bite from 7 pm to dark was great, though I lost more bass than I landed. There wern't too many frog mats, but I did throw my green Snagproof frog and landed one about 3 1/4 lbs but lost two over 5. Darn! Senkos worked well as did topwater. I was disappointed in the overall size of the topwater fish except for the frog fish. Bass were chasing shad up to the bank in Rock Creek - THAT was exciting to see. Some of the bass were good size. I had 25-25 hookups with the various baits before dark but only landed about 12. After dark I got a 3 3/4 pounder on a brush hog and that was about it. I only fished about 2 hours after dark however.
City: Yuba CityTips: There are lots of weeds but the lake is very fishable, especially with Senkos, topwater, shallow cranks, and plastic worms. The weeds arn't too deep. I could not get them to hit a spook, they wanted chugger type bait like a Chug Bug. Most bass were on points or steeper walls.

Report: Took my dad up to the lake. He is a worm fisherman, so we stuck to worms. Fished the narrows from 10-7. The bite lasted a long time from 10-4. We caught small spots, one smallie and one largemouth. I tried to get a little bigger bite with 6" or 5" worms (5
Tips: Find points with mud lines or color to the water. It is easy to do with the past week winds. The water has been stirred up nicely throughout the narrows (don

Report: had a good day..like da kine said you have one shot on plastics, missed a few also, most of the bigger fish were no more than a tick, 5 largest went for 18lbs not great but not bad. baby brush hogs and sinko wacky rig still seem the best. threw a buzz bait for a while but like every other time for the last month they will swrill around it but will not smack it. any one having luck with top water, if so what ones???? da kine does your first name start with p? if so you see me around whiskey with an ugly bald guy..lol

Report: Another day on the Bass Hunter,
Went out again today out of Tiki about 7:00am during outgoing tide. Had a 27lb limit by 10:00am. All fish were caught on modified plastic baits.
7.1-lbs,6.14-lbs,5.0-lbs,5.11-lbs,3-lbs and several smaller males 2-3-lbs.
All fish were released unharmed the 5-7-lber's had bloodied up tail fins. Saw a lot of small fry also from fish that have already spawned out. Another great day on the world class Delta.
Success to all.
City: TracyTips: Fish were not super aggressive, had to really pay attention to what the line was doing. You only had one chance to hookset. One tick is all you had if you didn't hook up the fish was gone....... Lost several fish as well today

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Launched out of Holland early. Worked my way towards Disco Bay. Started throwing weedslingers in the tules. Caught 4 bass to 4 lbs. The rest of the morning I hooked Stripers up to 12 lbs on the edges of the Tule Islands. Fun day and in by noon. Very Windy
City: fairfieldTips: Find the tule islands and throw to the current side. Keep your drag loose. The stripers sometimes grab the bait almost at the boat and take off.

Camp Far West Lake
-
Water Temp: 67-73
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I was on the water at 0615. Spent the first hour or so trying to get a topwater bite or reaction bite without a single strike. Saw a lot of fish at 18 feet. Started using dropshot and jigs and caught about 40 dinks. I might of had five keepers. I found a flat on the east side of the lake that was loaded with bait. The fish were in 10-17 ft. I tried using bigger baits and ran all over the lake. I just found school after school of small fish. It was fun and I learned a lot about my new graph
City: Citrus HeightsTips: The only area I did not try was the rock creek arm.

Emigrant Lake

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I thought I would let the trout fishermen know that when we were out, we had BIG TROUT chasing our grubs right up to the boat. We caught one by mistake fishing for bass. I think the trout fishing should be great based on how many we saw.
City: Central Point -
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 8-2pm today and caught over 40 fish, almost all dinks. Caught all fish on grubs, and jigs. Fish anywhere from the bank to 20 ft. We didn't catch one largemouth all day.
City: Central PointTips: To catch the big ones don't fish where or how we did, we couldn't find 'em.
Let the big girls go, so maybe someday I can catch one at Emigrant.

Sonoma Lake
-
Water Temp: 66-68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Had one of my best days at Lake Sonoma in a long time. Hit the water at 6am and started with some topwater across from the marina. Caught 6 fish to 3 lbs in the first hour, then headed over to Warm Springs. Caught a few more until 8:00 when the topwater bite shut off. Switched to tossing senkos for most of the day and caught nearly 30 fish. Average size was around 2 lbs with a couple 3's and one 5.6 lb'er. Also caught one on a swimbait and another on a jig.
City: Rohnert ParkTips: Topwater early then switch to senkos. Most colors will work, but the better bite came on the lighter, shad colors. Position your boat in 20'-25' water and fish around the trees. Points and secondary points produced better than the backs of the cuts. Let your senko sink to the bottom then shake, if you don't get bit within 30 seconds, reel up and cast again. Very soft bite, so lift your rod and if you feel any pressure, then set the hook. Fish are in the post spawn mode.

Berryessa Lake

Water Temp: 65+
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Took my 3 year old out for some perch fishing that plan did out work out unable to find them. The post spawn smallmouth saved the day. My son was able to catch 6 dragging a baby brush hog in 12-20 ft. I was able to get over 15 up to 4lbs. got up there at 8am left at 12 only 4 hours on the water and missed the morning bite, so I think it is safe to say the bite is on.
City: VacavilleTips: 3/4 of the fish were post spawn smallmouth that were running in small groups all the hooked fish that came in had a couple following it. All the ones I cought came on a Vixen and the bite just got better as the day went on but had to go home at noon too bad the bite is real good and will get better as the shad were just starting to show in the shallows for there spawn.

Report: Finally refilled the 6 gallon tank in "BASSBUSTER1" today (MidGrade $4.33 Gal). Destination was Dissappointment Slough. Turn around poit was King Island Resort & Commador's Yatch Club.
A very tough day today even when the wind got stronger. Many guarding males on spinnerbaits, 6" curly tail worms, cuople frog bites on then out going tide.
Bonus catch of the day was a 6 lb. Striper on my spinnerbiat (nearly pulled the rod out of my hand when it hit).
City: StocktonTips: Fish are holding on out side weed lines along the points and the lower shelfs between the islands. Post Spawn patterns are the ticket now.
