Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Headed out at about 8:30 am for some tubin'. Stated my first hour with out so much as a bite. Started to move out and found a fish with a spook something in the 7-8lb bracket but he got off decided to switch the hooks on the spook and didnt lose another fish all day(Very important to switch the hooks out). Got a 5 on the end of the island flat. Kept moving along out in the end of the island flat with out any more takers on the spook or C rig. Moved to the north point of the east cove and had no takers got my next fish at the dam with jigs got fish all along the dam including two fours and 4 fish going 2-3lbs each. Got around to the east bank which has never been good for me and still isnt :) Started seeing movement in the cove next to the boat ramp lots of shad flying and bass in hot presuit couldnt get those fish to go on a buzz bait or spook moved along to the next part of the cove got a quick 2lb fish and a 5.1 over all a good day.

Lafayette Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: I don't know if there is another Lafayette lake in the bay area, it can't be the one I fished. I fished from 7:00 a.m till around 2:00 and caught about 40 fish but not one over 8 inches, rented a boat and covered the entire lake and didn't see one fish over 10 inches, lots of dinks, don't know where all these record bass are in this lake?????Are we talking about the same lake guys
City: AlamedaTips: Lots of action on drop shot with purple senkos in the tules, but no big fish around.

Shasta Lake
-
Water Temp: 78
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: In at Jones Valley 7am fished humps in main body of pit and up the squaw, fishing slow at best and doesn't look to better in near future. Spent the night fishing for catfish. Return to ramp to find truck broken into and gas siphon seems to be a regular event on the Jones ramp. Wonder what it would take to get a few fisherman together and work with the sheriff's department and put in a few surveilance camera's.

California Delta
-
Water Temp: 73+
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished Franks as the tide bottomed out and into the first few hours of incoming. Lots of fish on buzzbaits (both wht and blk got an equal share), mostly little guys w/a few 2+ lb fish in the mix. Had two big bites, one I'll never know for sure but guessed about 6-7lbs. We made the classic mistake of crossing over each others lines and it hurt, big time. As I was trying to horse the beast out, my girlfriend, who's line was over me hooks up too. First time a double hook-up ever bummed me out. Oh well, I made up for it a few minutes later with a 9lb 12oz toad and this one stayed around long enough for a few pictures. Also got to see a 20+ lb striper blast what looked like a 2lb Sac pike right along side the boat, very cool..
City: TRACYTips: Little fish were everywhere we went, both big bites came from tule points just outside the current.

Chesbro Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Went out tubing, started around mid-day. Fished around the boat launch and in the cove directly across the lake. Had a good day with plenty of small fish, largest was around two pounds. Caught all my fish on blades and traps. There is some nice fish in here, you just have to get in the 15-20 ft range. Great place to crank, and burn blades. Lots of fish along the rocky points.
City: san joseTips: blades, traps - try some jigs too. Saw people banging out fish while drop shotting. I'm sure a purple roboworm would clean house. Very easy to have a 20+ fish day.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Was at the lake 6am-9am by the diner area. The water level look shallow and saw alot of fish jumping. Fishing on the shore using popper-R, rooster tail spinner and live bait(nightcrawlers). But no bite. Man, these darn fish are hard to catch. Haven't caught a fish at this lake yet. Any suggestion? which part of lake is good spot?

Hennessy Lake
-
Water Temp: 79 degrees
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: First I would like to say this is a great fishery for several reasons 1) no water sports allowed 2) no motors over ten horsepower 3) no tournaments 4) quality fish. This is a great place to bring your children and teach them how to appreciate nature. My friend Terry and I went out yesterday and today. We caught seven fish yesterday all small. Today was a different day we got on the lake at five thirty this morning on my first cast with a senko I caught a four pounder my friend Terry soon after that caught two on a buzzbait one being a four pounder. We then went to drop shotting off points Terry picked up a four pound smallmouth on a six inch robo worm. We picked up five more drop shotting between two and three pounds. We were off the lake by noon. Another successful day on my favorite pond!! CATCH & RELEASE!!!
City: SONOMATips: You need to use light line drop shotting (six pound test) set your drag accordingly. Buzz baits and senkos early.

Amador Lake
-
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Well, its really slow out there. Caught a few but there was no size to them. I only caught 2 between dark and 2 in the morning. Honestly, between the slow bite and the 25+ bass boats on the water at 2 AM, no exaggeration, its not worth the trip.
City: antiochTips: Go elsewhere. But if youve got your heart on Amador try the brief topwater bite. Good luck.

Berryessa Lake
-
Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: well, this is not an exciting rpt, but i thought i throw out some info if anyone is interested...started fishn the main body a 6:30am and threw reaction baits for about 2 hrs with the results = zero, nada, zilch....no surface activity until about 9am, but it came from jet skiers who came out to make their presence known. started slown down and using plastics without much luck either until i started fishn 25' - 35' depths..started to graph more bait and some fish also, but it was still hard to get bit...ended up fishn these depths for 3hrs and got 6 bites, missn 3 fish and releasing 3 bass in 1-2# range...got bit on split shotn 4" worms and drop shotn small baits...amongst the many boaters that came out to play, saw only 2 other bass boats...guess that meant i was in the wrong area or the wrong lake........quit at 12:30 with water temps @ 78.....good fishn....
City: orindaTips: this is still a beautiful lake IF you get on it early b4 the recreational folks do..fishn deep is a slow process, if your not graphing much, try a different spot...had the best luck with something on the screen, as the fish were not moving to far to eat.....

Calero Reservoir
-
Water Temp: 75ish
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got there at 8 as I was asked if I had reservations. I couldn't believe it...Reservations? I went to Calero the last 2wks and heard nothing of reservations. Ended up getting on the water at about 10:30 and of course right as the sun's coming up. Buddy got a blow up on a spook and that ended the topwater adventure. Got one C-rig deep (20ft or so) off a point. Missed a couple deep. Had a good fish on a spinnerbait and lost it (outside weedbed close to deep water). Caught a big crappie on a blade. Pretty fun for the short time we spent out ther. Marked a lot of suspended fish, would have liked to be on the water for topwater early.
City: San CarlosTips: Get a reservation for the weekend. Ridiculous, but thank the jet skiers. I really cannot beleive how many people like those things. Tough for me but move around and find em.

City: San LeandroTips: Weeds are growing nicely around points at Chabot and bass are holding tight around these points. Get your bait down deep and you'll have lots of fun catching these 1-2 lb. post spawn bass.

Water Temp: 75
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Half day saturday trip with one guest. Started around mid lake with topwater and jigs. First fish went 8lbs even on a jig. We picked and scratched with topwater for a couple of decent fish then settled in with a jig and boated several more. The topwater fish we cought were suspended over 50-80 ft. all jig fish were on pionts with sharp breaks to deep water. Get there early as it does tighten up around 10 or 10:30 am.
City: San JoseTips: fish are spread out as is the bait..we had to keep moving. throw at any surface disturbance over deep water.
-
Water Temp: 73
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 0630AM - 1:00PM. Caught 7 nice fish with one at 4lbs and the rest at 1.5-2lbs. Picked up one SM on a PopR early. Nothing else on top water. The other fish were LM caught on crank and carolina rigged plastics along the weedlines in 13-17 ft of water. Picked up one in an mudline on the fall. Tons of suspended fish but tough to catch.
City: Foster CityTips: Try top water early. Fish steep drops and weed lines with soft plastics. The bite seems to shut down around 10:00 AM so go early or late. Nothing happening in the middle except the water cops stopping everyone in sight.

Don Pedro Lake
-
Water Temp: 79-81
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)

Hensley Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well first time here for about 2 months. I have been going to eastman at night and doing well, but hensley is allways fun. Started around 5:00pm near the 5mph bouys and right away my partner hooked up with a small fish. The wind was blowing pretty good so we went to a number of places including rock piles, main lake points and dropoffs, just to see where fish were. Well they were everywhere we caught fish on an assortment of plastics with the fish going from a pound to three pounds. The bite was really good right before dark, then it shut off we moved out to dropoff from 8 to 26 feet and were able to catch a couple more fish, but during the dark hours it was alot slower. We finished the night with 22 bass. After taking a nap on the boat we started fishing again around 5:30am and the fishing was on again but we could only find fish up to about 2 1/2 pounds. We left and 8:30 with 17 fish for just a few hours bringing our total to 39 fish, Lots of Fun!!
City: CoalingaTips: Fish seem to be scattered all over the lake the water is dropping 10 more feet and it will be down to last winter level. This should make for some good fall fishing. Just get out there and fish early morning or evening. Worms, lizards, senkos, its all working right now. Good Luck and have fun.

McClure Lake
-

Best 5 probably only 12 lbs. Spots everywhere did not realize so many fish here. Most fish were caught on a split shot and 4"senko #180 in 10 to 25ft. But the biggest were all caught on blades Black and red all these fish were right on the bank to maybe 10ft off the bank.
