Water Temp: warming
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Caught a few bass while camping on the South Shore, in Harris Creek. Smallmouth and largemouth both fell for 1/4 oz kastmasters and rattle traps. There is a ton of shad. Wish I had a boat! The stripers were boiling outside of the cove I camped at both nights around 8pm. But too far to cast. Also caught a fat 18 inch bullhead catfish at 1am on sardines.
City: Marina CATips: Once the boats hit the water, the rockless coves/shoreline muddies up pretty fast. This can be good and bad. Murky water heats up faster than clear water so throw quick, reaction lures through the murky areas while using slow moving plastics and cranks through the clear water.

Report: I have been in the worst fishing slump in my life but yesterday it ended with a nice 7 LBS bass off lime cove useing crankbait.
City: BakersfiledTips: Water has came up so much it opened up some good fishing areas. Try using deep diving crank and bounce off bottom and over the rocks!! I had a few chase it up to the boat so thats why I stayed with the crankbait.

Report: Fishing with Frank Kaiser on Sat. afternoon when I caught a 8 lb. 3 oz. Black Bass. I was using a Texas rigged Iovino 6" worm in Oxblood. Fishing was pretty slow, so I must have hit her on the head with the worm! The strike was a little tap, tap like all the dinks we were catching until I set the hook. Then all h*ll breaks loose, she jumped & I new she was big! She just spawned or she would have gone over 9! She was caught in a secondary cove near the mouth of the river & was in about 6' of water. Realeased her right after weighing her! This is the second big fish in a couple of days for me as I caught a 10+ at Success. Sometimes you're better off being lucky than good!
City: VisaliaTips: The fish are scattered so move around & pay attention to your electronics! Firh 5-15 ft. of water.

Water Temp: 69
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Lake looks great. Hope it stays like this all summer! Started fishing at 3 in the afternoon. Caught fish all afternoon on senkos and jerk baits. For me, all the fish were small. But still alot of fun.
City: VisaliaTips: Take alot of senkos.....used about 50. Throw right up against the bank. Grass banks mixed with rock seem to be the ticket. Fished east end of lake towards slick rock and beyond.

Report: I was fishing Thurs. night using a Carolina rigged Hulagrub fishing shallow when I thought I snagged a stump. The "Stump" started pulling back & turned out to be a 10lb. 4 oz. toad! I was fishing shallow to deep near the East side of the dam. She hadn't spawned yet & I released her after I weighed her! She put up one heckova fight!
City: VisaliaTips: Fish shallow to deep & pay attention around 10-15ft. Medium slow presentation.

Report: Got to the lake at 8:30pm. Landed two 2lb LRG's in the first 45 minutes. I was using a 4 1/2" crankbait. Stayed til' 11:00 with out any more action.
City: ResedaTips: Use bright, odd colors, and a jerky presentation, this lake gets a lot of presure and the fish have seen it all.

Nacimiento Lake
-
Water Temp: 66
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water around 7am. Went to Bee Rock and fished all the way to the boat docks picking up only one keeper spot on a t-rig worm. Went up the lake to the next set of boat docks and fished all the way to Oak Shores marina area...NOTHING! Headed up the lake more and started fishing rock walls with a Rapala Jerkbait and started catching fish. Ended the day with 7 spots and one nice white.
City: AtascaderoTips: I think the weather system moving in combined with a busy weekend turned the bite off. Fish around mid-week and it should be better.
All fish came in 4-10' of water.
