Report: Fished a club event on 8-19 /8-21 2005. Fishing was very tough. Prior reports only 1-2 weeks back from tackle shops, friends, etc. said the bite was decent on big worms and cranks. Things definately changed with the full moon and a cooling weather system passing through. Day time temps were 98 degrees with no wind until 2pm each day.
An algea bloom was in full force that made the water look like pea soup. Lots of dead birds, trout, and dying shad sprinkled the lake surface.
Fellow club members picked off a fish here and there. Obviously there was a ton of shad in the lake. Catfish were very active eating the dying shad on the surface.
1st and 2nd place fish were taken from Sickle Point and in the saddle (between main land and the visiable island) mostly on dropshot baby bass roboworms. Super slow presentation. A few fish were caught on medium diving 2-4 ft. depth white cranks.
City: RSM, CATips: Bring lots of lead mojo dropshot weights and sunscreen. Use lighter weights to keep from getting hung up as much.

Report: There was a full moon the 19th so figured hey this may be the only chance to fish to get away from lake lice.Got out on the water about 6:00pm of course still lot's of traffic.Ran down to bee rock fished jsut outside but hell it was like an ocean. Finally the sun went down the exact same time the moon came up pretty cool.First fish came on rebel wee-r 2lb.smally.Nothing for awhile so i ran back and fished the slide area and picked up 3 more smallmouth and one large all about the same size 2lb all on pop-r.Aboat 10:30 i decided to run down and fish main lake point's and noticed a boat on the other side with these two flashing light's and thought man they really want people to see them.So i kept going and thought to myself that doesnt seem right,So i went back and motered up to them and asked is everything ok?By this time the wind picked up pretty good.Well it was a couple in a bass boat and both the big motor and trolling motor took a crap.Well of course i had to tow them back to the ramp and by then it was after 11:00 so i figured i might as well pull out to.So i ended up with five fish all after dark.
City: SALINASTips: Still be careful this time of year there we jet skies out there after dark,of course they dont have running light.idiot's.

Water Temp: 82
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fished a 6 hour tournament today. What a tough bite. Of 37 people, only 19 weighed a fish. The lake was dropping really fast. I fished it Friday and the lake was six feet lower today. Lots of baby bass and baitfish. Good prospects for two years from now, but a pesky bite now. Anyway, I couldn't get a reaction bite, tried a Sammy and a white blade. Went to plastics and discovered that they wern't even hitting that. Finally about 10:30 picked up a 1.44 lber on a dropshot. All the others I wouldn't even call dinks, they were so small.
City: FresnoTips: Tried all my plastics and only got bit on a 4" Pro Worm purple death

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Wow...I think I know that Todd guy....He's a GREAT fisherman. It's too bad that he doesn't get out on the water more. I know his good friend too....he misses spending time with him and wonders why he can't make the effort to spend time with him. I mean they live 2 hours apart, but what's that when it comes to spending time with good friends? God knows his friend needs to learn more about fishing from him.
City: AtascaderoTips: Make time for your friends....when it's your time to leave this earth, you can't put all your "stuff" in the casket with you BUT you can take all the good memories to your grave and be surrounded by those closest to you. Life's too damn short....live a little...try it, you might like it. I mean we're ALL busy with life, but that doesn't mean that we should let it pass us by.

Report: Fished a night tournament with the Family Bass Club out of Fresno Saturday night through Sunday morning. The bite was tough. The club fished from 7 PM until the first weigh in at 12:30 AM Sunday. The second half was from 1:00 AM until 7 AM. Several fish were weighed in at the first session including a 5.48 lb. spotted bass. The second weigh in had more keeper fish including a 6.52 lb. black. All the fish were caught on plastics. Senkos, Pro worms, and Yamamoto Hula grubs taking most. The grubs and worms were fished on 1/8 oz darters. Fish were caught from the river to the dam. Most were in less than 10 ft of water. Topwater, spinnerbaits, and buzzbaits were tried but with little success. The next Family Bass tournament will be at Bass lake on Sept. 17. The Club is looking for new members. Email if you would like some information.
City: FresnoTips: Take lots of food and water. It will be a long night. Plastics worked best. Dark colors were used, however the big spot and largemouth came on a pearl Hula and a shad colored 3 in straight tail worm respectively. Both were caught off of points in 10 feet of water, the spot in windy gap, and the black by the dam buoy line. Good luck.
