Water Temp: 57.5
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water around 8:00am. Headed straight to Bee Rock. Started with a dropshot. Had a Magic Worm Hologram Shad curly tail tied on. As luck would have it, I fell prey to the dreaded "first cast fish!!" Fortunately, I wasn't jinxed by it. Hooked up on another on the same rig...both were just barely keeper spots. Decided to move...headed to the point on the left as you head into Las Tablas. Switched to a t-rig with a 3/0 bleeding worm hook combined with a Reaction Innovations Flirt in Hot Tamale color. Picked up a couple as I headed along that wall. Fired up the engine and shot all the way into the cove. Decided to stop as I hit the no wake zone and fish the walls there. Ended up hooking up on about 10 more between both sides of the walls. All fish were 12-13" keepers...and they all had a set of shoulders on them! My biggest two went 14 and 14.75". It was a GREAT day on the water. The water was like a sheet of glass until I got off the water at 3:30..sunny skies...about 80-85degrees...and didn't see one jet ski, water ski, or wakeboard!!! Decided to keep my limit and put some fresh fish on the plate. 3 of my fish already had rows of eggs. The fish are obviously confused with the unseasonably warm weather.
City: AtascaderoTips: Fish shallow...throw to the bank and work the bottom. Keep the boat in 15-30 feet of water and work it all the way back to the boat. Set the hook HARD! I lost 3 on the way back to the boat and missed another 8. Could have easily had 20+ fish if I had hooked up on every bite. Take advantage of this awesome weather.

Fished the main lake on that side, nada.
Went around to fish arm, Hawks Nest at about 12:00. Fished the east side west facing point and walls on out. Nada, but we did see a beautiful woman with her husband in a purple Ranger.
Fished the point on the main lake with the bouy cluster. Four pounder. Lake capped up and we left.
City: los angelesTips: Jigs and Ikas. Throw long and tight, retrieve SLOOOOW. Active fish are on the points.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Went out sunday morning about 8:30 under a blanket of overcast. Much to our surpirse, however, it burnt by 10:00. Partner nabbed 1.5lb black retriveing a blue/silver rattle trap in a cove near Heritage Ranch point. Then he managed to hook up with another two pounder on a chartruse spinner bait with chartruese curly tail trailer and stinger hook fishing in about 15 feet of water in a cove at the mouth of Snake creek. I cought two blacks across from Heritage Point on shad color and Brite Orange crawdad pattern rattle traps in about 15 feet of water. Tried drop shotting, and zara spooks to no avail. Rattle traps seemed to be the ticket today.

City: TulareTips: Still some fish that are volunteering for sharpies. My only tip is to post! Oh...There's a nice pic of a 16er at the Texaco station that a guy out of Tulare nabbed a day or two earlier from Kaweah. Biggies are still cruising...POST!!!

Pine Flat Lake

Water Temp: 68
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: No reaction bite found for me. Thought I could get a topwater bite going, but no luck. Got most of them on a Brown/Purple jig. Found the best activity in about 15-25 feet for the jig bite. No sign of surface activity/schooling going on. I don't get it, they should be corraling the shad up big time with the conditions. Caught a few drop shotting too.
City: HanfordTips: Time on the water is not time at work or home.....can't beat that. Get out there. Ya ain't gonna catch 'em sitting on your couch watching football.

Water Temp: 65
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: On the water around 7:30 am - extremely fogy. 3 of us in the boat. Started off with topwater and ripbaits - nothing. Went back into Elizabeth - nothing. Checked with other boats - no bites. After fog burned off around 9 am, decided to net some shad; afterward, hit some main lake points in the Fish Arm - bass stacked in 10-25 feet of water. Caught about 15 - all bass had fat bellies and were 2-4 lbs. Netted more shad and headed to the very end of the Ski Arm - main lake points loaded with bass. Caught another 15-20 bass - seemed smaller 1.5 - 2 lbs. Called it a day after catching and releasing a 5 lber. Off the water around 2 pm.
City: Santa ClaritaTips: Spotted a lot of bass shallow in 2-5 feet along shore while hunting shad; seemed active and ready to hit a shad imititation (???). Work hard for 5 bites throughout day or net shad and learn a lot about how suttle a bass bite can be. Even fishing shad, you learn tons about how important it is to be a line watcher. Half the time, you don't even know they took the bait, unless you saw that slight line twitch.
