Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: "Holy where did the bass go Batman?!" Couldn't buy a bite today. Threw it all, big worms, small worms, dark worms, light worms, shakin' worms, senkos, ikas, spinners, cranks, jerks.....NOTHING!! The water was a lot dirtier than just last Wednesday....don't know why, last night's rain couldn't have made it THAT dirty...or could it? Hell, I don't know. I fished many different depths...metered a lot of fish, but couldn't get bit.
City: AtascaderoTips: Would like to get some insight as to where I might get on some fish.

Pine Flat Lake

Water Temp: 56F to 63F
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: Fished all day March 25 and half the day March 26 with my buddy, producing only six fish for our efforts, all the first day, and only one fish above 1 lb (the lone largemouth amongst the remainder of small spots). The lake is above 50% capacity and water clarity was much better than expected given the recent rainstorms - up to 15' in some areas, with the norm around 8' - 10' in main lake areas.
The fish that were caught typically came from deep water (20'+) off rocky areas. All were caught on miniscule shad imitating baits. There were one or two sizable bass tournaments on the 26th, but don't know how they faired -- it looked like most headed up river early, as there weren't many in the main lake area in the morning.
Since we fished on the tail end of a passing cold front I suspect the barometer had gone up, giving the fish a case of lockjaw?
City: BakersfieldTips: Fish deeper and slow if the fish remain inactive.

Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Going to hit the lake this Wednesday. Looking for any tips as to where I can get into some fish and what's working best in these conditions, best colors, what depth to fish, etc.
Will be 1st time on the water here since August of last year. Don't really know where to start since it's a totally different lake now that it's maxed out.
Got into a great jerkbait bite(in 6"-6' of water) last year this same time but not sure if that's going to be the case now with this last rain, cooler temps, muddy water, and the lake being full.
Thanks for any help someone can provide.

Report: Went mid-day near the Horse Creek area. Starting to flood with the water rising, a lot of debris. Was only able to fish for an hour. One strike on a shad colored senko and one strike on a frog on top of the debris. Should be excellent after storms. Fished from float tube.

Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: THE WHITES ARE GONE from the narrows!!! Went as far as I could go before I bottomed out. Saw only 7 white bass swimming. Talked to 3 other guys and they hadn't caught any whites at all. One guy said they were there day before yesterday still but NO MORE>>>> so don't waste your time making the long trip.
We did catch a lot of spots back in the narrows and on the main lake. Fish are hanging tight to structure....brush piles, blow overs, rock piles, and rock drop offs....points and boat docks too. Everywhere we stopped we caught fish. I caught right at 25 and my nephew about 15. I missed at least another 5-10 fish and he the same. Read a report about a hot reaction bait bite but couldn't buy a bite on jerkbaits, cranks, lipless cranks or spinnerbaits. However we didn't try the same spot as was mentioned in that report.
City: AtascaderoTips: All fish came on t-rigged 6" roboworms BUT>>>> as many tails as I had bitten off today, my next batch of worms will be 4" so I don't miss as many fish. My nephew was using the same but also hooked up on a few fish using a smoke/purple Yamamoto hula grub on a 3/8 oz jig head also picked up a couple on white crappie jigs. The biggest fish went right at 2# with the majority being a little over a pound and 12-14". All in all it was a great day, ended up being VERY windy on the main lake, but still a great day on the water.

Water Temp: 62-67
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: On the water at sun up, Foggy so we headed across and started throwing reaction baits with great success for spot to about 1.5 lbs. Headed up river and caught a few whites on rip baits then headed back down to the mouth of the river and some stained water. picked up several more on reaction baits(rip-baits) headed back to the main lake near the dam area and continued to catch them. All in all over a hundres bass with 95% of them keepers and the biggest going about 2.5. Five whites and five slab crappie. Friends in another boat hit the wood with minnows and three of them caught 63 crappie and 33 whites. Lots of action not alot of size but still alot of fun !!!
Tips: For bass throw rip baits and for crappie get some minnows...

Nacimiento Lake

Water Temp: 61-63
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Fished from 6am-3pm. Caught fish all day long on everything we threw. Grubs and rip baits were the best. Not a lot of size, but the numbers are there. all of the fish came out of 10ft or less despite the dreary weather. I saw a lot of people fishing for whites, but not a lot of hook ups.
City: San JoseTips: Fish shad colored grubs and ripbaits along riprap walls. Most of the fish only picked up the bait and swam off with it, so watch your line. Keep the lure as close to the bottom as possible with out being on the bottom, Most of the bites occurred with in 5 feet of shore. good luck!

Pine Flat Lake

Water Temp: 60
Water Clarity: Clear (4+ foot visibility)
Report: My son and I were on the lake by noon. We started hitting the points throwing plastics purple and shad colored 4" and 6". A few hits in the main lake then we moved to windy gap and fished a little deeper..caught a couple small large mouths less than a lb. Went to Sycamore cove and caught 2 more both spots maybe a lb each. Back to main lake and started dead sticking some rock drop offs....caught about 5 in 10 minutes. As the sun was going down I casted to a submerged tree and missed my spot...started reeling it in very fast for a rethrow and slam...a 4lb spot...a beautiful fish that will be laying it's eggs soon....a fair day with 11 caught and released. Fish are getting more active.
City: ClovisTips: No pattern just a lot of different ways to catch fish...strange weather with fog and wind. No sun so the fish were moving around in schools especially the spots. It is going to be a great year for bass!

Report: Saturday was beautiful day. That is until we ran across a couple of jerks. If you fish this lake stay away from an older silver-blue Champion with a Mercury black max. These guys think they won the lake and will call you every name in the book if you cross their path.

Report: Bass starting to finally wake up and bite! Stuck a 7lb bass in Elizabeth canyon at first daylight on a purple 7" california worm. Bass seemed to eat 7" purple worms, 7" Robo shakin worms in Aron's magic, & watermelon zipper's. we stuck fish all day! all over the lake. Fish are in tight in the morning, then pull off 10'-25'I will try to figure out how to post the picture of the fish so everyone can see her.
City: Moorpark,Ca 93021Tips: Throw 7" worms, try cranks, jigs, etc. Jigs should still be biting. Today for some reason they did not want to bite jigs.

Water Temp: 54o
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Boy -- What a change since last week, Launch parking was already holding card at 6:15 with more coming in behind me. Temps were nice light jacket weather with a wee bit of a chill but it was nice. Started off near Vasquez on a small point tossing a Osprey swim with no takers, switched to a jig around 20 foot drop offs and managed a small 2 pounder. Tossed a Norman diver crank without any hits so worked on size and color and depth but still no takers. Senkos wasn't a good choice so pulled out the drop. Hit on the first cast with a healthy 3+ then another a few minutes later with a bit more weight on her then a third about 1/2 hour later in the same weight. Must have been maybe 9:30 or so and it just went flat. Wind was down considerably today and it was nice not to fight the boat. Talked with threwe guys that said they were hitting on rip baits tossed close to the banks. Tied on a rip and did the same with a nice 4-1/2 for my effort. Stayed with the rip until leaving at 22 as the bite just went away. Sun came out and I shed the coast and parka. Was great to feel the sun.
City: SMTips: Go slow around rock walls and points. Water temps are coming up and fish should start to get shallow soon.

Hensley Lake

Water Temp: 60+
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Typical Algae green water allready this year! My daughter and I went up to spend an hour or two in the sunshine...arrived around 2pm to a pretty full parking lot and a really full lake! Went up in the river and saw 1 boat! Apparently most were trout fishing or on the far sida of the lake. Anyway we started throwing blades along the flooded grass banks and I immediatly hooked a 2 lber. Samantha lost one on her next cast and on my next cast I popped on that was a solid 3. We worked our way all the way up to the sandbar at the head of the river and got nothing. Went back to where we started and I banged another one well over 3lbs. We finished with Samantha losing a 1.5er at the boat. We were on the lake for a total of 2 1/2 hrs. including all our motoring around! Not bad for such a short time! Hensley has always been known as a quantity lake vs Eastman being a Quality lake-lately Hensley's population of decent fish has improved! Unfortunatly there were allready water-skiers and jet ski's out there-Thank God for the no wake zones! Tight Lines!!!
City: ChowchillaTips: Time on the water-Take a kid fishing-please practice catch and release!

Report: Fished the day after the storm. Not many whites up in the river. Fished for Spots and caught lots of them. Used ox-blood colored worms, and shad tubes. Storm must have blown the whites out, but I am sure they are back. Going again Friday the 11th, just to check it out, and of course, throw in a line.
