San Vicente Lake
-
Water Temp: 59
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Fishing was fair today. Caught all three fish dropshotting in 15-20 water. Also saw people catching fish shallow on reaction baits. Fish appear to be moving into a prespawn pattern, the big ones should be on there way up.
Tips: Be careful of your motor overheating due to all of the floating debris in the water clogging the water hole on the outboard. Three people had to take their motors in to have cleaned out after last weekends outing.

Report: The Lake has risen about 7 feet in elevation from the storms. The main dam launch ramp is usable again. Water is very stained. I fished jig and pig all around Rocky Piont with out a bite. So I ran up to the south fork in the afternoon to look around. All the spawning flats are flooded and ready for the Big Mama's.
City: KernvilleTips: I saw fish caught on spoons and small worms. Watch out for floating logs and trash.

The water ski arm has far less stuff floating in it. We are talking uprooted tree stumps and large branches that if hit will take out your boat.

Water Temp: 49 to 51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Well the storms have keep angles away from this lake water is stable but not much fishing been done bass are 13 to 17 inches with weights going 1 1/2 pounds. Brown jigs in 3/8 oz ( football head ) with ( yamamoto ) single tail watermelon blk flake and also brown&purple jigs work with dark smoke/purple flake ( yamomoto )single tail fish are in 18 to 35 feet of water. long points and rock piles hold most of the fish also work the creek channels. Drop shotting is also good here to get the bait right in the strike area. new storm on wed will keep this lake on the slow side.
City: kerman ca.Tips: Working your lures slow is a must also if fish are in deep water bring fish up slow if hooked

Nacimiento Lake
-
Water Clarity: Muddy (0-2 foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water around 9am. Fished cove to the left of the launch ramp. Picked up a small largemouth on a 6" midnight Roboworm t-rigged.
Fog finally lifted at noon. Picked up another LM a little bigger than the first in the middle of a submerged tree in about 5' of water. That was it. A LOT of junk washed into the lake from the storm, be careful on the water. They're letting a lot of water out of the lake, WHY? They say to make room for more storms and they'll let it fill to the brim in March. Why not let it fill now and let water out if and when more storms move in?!
City: AtascaderoTips: Fish plastics slow. Try to find clean water; GOOD LUCK!

Lopez Lake

Water Temp: 51
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: First time out this year and boy was I suprised, it was windy. Fished mostly back of coves to escape the gail force winds. Got bit around 11:15am, a nice 4lb fat with eggs. I was using a sinko with a 1 1/2oz football leadhead due to wind. A little later I switched to meth injected gold fish I got from my good friend Brian Thompson of Paso Robles. Man you should see those things take off when you stick a hood in them. In just a few minutes I had 6 nice crappie all in the 2lb range. Thanks Brian. I then went by the damn where I metered fish in 40ft of water. I forgot my tackle box with swim baits so I used a couple small trout I keep in the live well for just such a situation and wham, didn't get bit but I love the group Wham. Finished up the day in front of the launch ramp using a frog colored hand granade and got a couple of nice ones. All and all it was a good day fishing
City: TempletonTips: Heavy anchor and lots of chain, did I mention it was windy. Also check Fish and Game guidelines for hand granades. I told the ranger it was a cigarette lighter.
