Report: Braved the cold Sat nite. Got out at 11:45PM. Man was it cold. No one was out on the lake. The fishing was hot! Great blade bite on the dam. Slow roll about 4 feet from shore & wham, they were hitting it hard. No big fish, our best went 4.1lb. but it sure was fun. 14 other keepers 15-17 inches & about 20 dinks. Colder water makes them strong.
      City: Visalia

Tips: Cast spinnerbait about 4 feet from shore & slow roll her bumping the bottom. Hold on or the fish will rip your rig out of your hands!

Report: The water is extremely dirty from the recent rain runoff. The largemouth fishing was very slow. A couple of nice fish on jigs. The striper fishing is great with fish averaging 2 to 5 lbs. I threw topwater, senkos, spinnerbaits. All produced good quality Stripers. I stumbled onto the Stripers while fishing for Largemouth.

Tips: The Stripers are everywhere. From the shore to the middle of the lake. Throw a Senko right on the shore and you'll get fish. I'm sure all of the traditional Striper baits should work as well. I saw people hooking up throwing white Striper jigs .... Good fishing....

All of them were in the shallow trees, and grass not many on the rip-rap.

Report: Got on the water around 6:45 a.m. Headed to Greasy Cove. My buddy Todd got the first fish on a 4" smoke texas rigged in about 4' of water. Fish were few and far between. Saw shad but nothing chasing them. Tried throwing a crank and a jerk, but nothing. Switched to a 6" Roboworm Margarita Mutilator color, texas rigged with a 2/0 bleeding red hook. Fish responded with a few more bites. Ended up getting 5 small fish to my partner's 4, SORRY TODD.....It was a beautiful day on the water for this time of year. Had a lot of fun. Even over the bitchin' of my partner saying that I back ended him all day and had him fishing for birds in the trees he was so close to the bank....."Face it son, I finally beat you...FAIR AND SQUARE!!!!"....Let me enjoy it for once cause it'll probably never happen again!
      City: Atascadero

Tips: Fish slow....wait for 'em to take it cuz there's a lot of small fish just playing....not really committing to much at all....still a lot of fun just being able to fish in shorts this time of year....

Tips: Anything that looks like a shad will work. Senkos produce a lot of small bass in the 10 to 12 inch range.

Report: took the old man for the day.did not get on the water till about 11:00,he does not like to get up early, went to las tables whats left of it.like the report from ken the best method was to shake small worms.we cought most of ours though around what floating docks and pontoon boats we could find.he did catch two largemouth and one was as easy 3lber which is real hard to find in this lake.when we call it a day here we just troll back for white bass and we cought quite a few nothing to bid 1.5-2.0 lb average.as usual though and it is october during the week the jetskies and skiers out number the fishermen 10 to 1.this poor lake and they are allmost done with the new ramp a four lane with new parking lot will make it a complete zoo this summer dont even bother going.although all the bouldres around it for erosion will make a good spot to fish.

Report: Started crankin the rip-rap on engineer point at day break. 1 keeper and 1 short. Ran to Orricks and headed north crankin the edge of the canal. no takers. Went over to rocky, still in the shade, and worked a rock pile with a t-rigged zoom u-tale in re-bug. nothing. Slowed way down with the t-rig and jig. Lake was dead flat. Beautiful morning. Headed toward camp 9 slowly casting to the largest trees. bam 5.4 on the worm. too many shore fisherman. Went out in the middle and threw a sb in the trees. 1 short. went home at 11am.
      City: Kernville

Tips: The main launch ramp is in bad shape. the dock is completely out of the water. You can launch but nowhere to tie the boat up while you park. I'm going to try the launch ramp over by Reds marina next time.
There is a giant rock just under the surface about 20 yds off shore....in front of the mobile home....toward camp nine.

Report: Pre-fished on Fri and Sat for a club tourney on Sunday. Didn't get a keeper on Friday and not a bite on Sat. Tried everything. Was my 1st time here. There was another tourney Sat and just about every arewa had a boat on it. Sundays tourneys are always fishing 'used' water. Sun I started out on the East side of the lake on the cliffs and caught two, a black and a smallmouth. No reaction bite even though a lot of fish were rising to the surface. Went on main lake points and ended up culling three. Largest was a 4.65 black and 14.26 lbs total to take 1st place. Only two limits were brought in.

Tips: use a dropshot on wind blown points
