Report: This is in response to Mr. Osbornes report about the park district, shocking and moving chabot's bass to the quarry lakes, I this is happening, this is absolute B.S.! I am one o those dedicated Chabot bass isherman who has to work or 4 hours to get 1-2 bites, I would like to encourage all o you to sign any petitions that protect Chabot's bass. I have released a 4.7 emale bass, and the 8-9 1-2lbers I have caught this spring at Chabot. My biggest a ew years back (6.2 lbs, I also released or the good o the ishery. I also would like to encourage all o you to call the park district and/or ish and game to protest this- thanks GREG KMIT

Report: LAKE POWELL FISH REPORTMay 2, 2002 By Wayne Gustaveson Home Page: www.wayneswords.com Lake Elevation: 3645 Water Temperature: 56-65 F
City: Page, AZTips: Spring weather alternates between hot and calm ollowed by cold and windy. Fish reallyrespond to hot and then get blow away by windy conditions. The ish activity cycle is reallypredictable since it has be replayed 3 times in the past 3 weeks. Winds cool the lake suracetemperature to 56 and ish quit biting. Then as soon as it calms down surace temperature popsback above 60 and ish start biting all over again.

Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: Got on the water about 8 a.m. out o Ladd's with my brother and went to Middle River and ished tules and weeds. Just went right down the bank trying everything that looked good and some that didn't. We had a good time and tried a ew new spots. We caught 26 with the biggest going 6.0 and the rest were 3 lbs. and below. All the ish were caught on a black/blue lake senko. Tried a chart. spinnerbait and a speed trap without any luck, not even a strike. Everything we caught was as tight to whatever cover they were using as they could get. Miss your spot by a oot and there was nothing. It had to be in their ace.
City: StocktonTips: Most o the bites we had were just swimos, not very agressive.

Report: With a good buddy living in the oaks, I should ish up here more oten but rarely make the trip. I guess I could have picked a better day. We started about 9am at Rattle snake Isle. I Picked up a 2 pounder on a senko ishing the edge o some thules and my buddy did manage a 6 pounder on a minnow (his only ish) Fished back in the keys a little and I caught another 2# and a 4#, both on senkos. That was it or the day. Both ish in the Keys were almost grey. Maybe rom the cooler water or some kind o stress??, strange!

Report: To answer the guy about the carp - they were up and around but most have headed or deeper water with the cold weather. I did see that biggest carp spawning that I think I have ever seen in Jago Bay - had to be 25 to 30 pounds. Wow! Anyway, I launched my Ranger 520 with a great client yesterday morning and couldn't begin to say how excited I was to see the water temp at 54 degrees! I think the calendar said April 30!! We inally ound 61 degree water in the back o Paradise Cove in the aternoon. Most areas about 58. At least the sun was out. We saw some crusing bass as did other olks - but they showed no interest. No bed ish at all (south end). We did manage three bass or nearly 12 pounds - the biggest a spawned out 4 1/2. My client caught a nice one nearly 4 pounds at Anderson Island on the new Senko #306 (natural shad). Both o mine were caught on the bluegill Senko #214 - the irst ones o the year on that color. Talked to two other boats with no ish. It was pretty slow. Lots o ishing pressure and unstable weather really make it tough or the time being. Think I will stay away this weekend!!
City: Yuba CityTips: Senkos started o slow this year but they are making up or lost time. I can't get bit on a jig lately. Maybe the crawdad population is down some. We targeted tule/wall combinations.

Watched as all the BASS rigs came driving in on HWY 20.
City: sacotTips: Bite was tough. It seemed as though senkos were the only thing that would make them react.

Coyote Lake
-
Water Clarity: Stained (2-4 foot visibility)
Report: I ished Coyote twice last week mainly using dierent types o swimbaits. Although I saw 3 bass that were probably trophy size and many more over 5 pounds, I couldn't get anything to hit. I tried Jigs, senkos, and a spinner bait with nothing. This week I'll try some 7 inch senkos and see i that could get me a trophy sized bass. Live bait is tempting to use or these big boys but artiicals are more rewarding.
Tips: Any tips or me?
